I’ve been dying my hair for 40 years, both in salons and at home. I’ve even bleached. But something happened 4 years ago that caused my to be very sensitive to hair dyes. I get big itchy scabby things on my scalp and little itchy pimple like things on my neck and ears. I thought I was going to have to only get my hair professionally done until I tried this dye. It’s not the deep rich black that I used to get, but it’s a good black that doesn’t have a blue or red to it. I find that I have to make sure I completely rinse it out of my hair and I shampoo my hair daily for the next few days. I even used the developer that came in the box. Before, for home dyes, I would buy a sensitive skin developer to use with the dye. The only downside is there were no gloves included. I mix this in a bowl and apply with a brush. I didn’t find the smell to have that strong at home dye smell. I have subscribed to this. I was initially turned off by the price. I was used to paying $10/under but in my situation it’s a lot less than going to a salon. ... show more

I can not say enough about this! Absolutely perfect color. Grays are fully covered. Hair is soft and super shiny. Unreal!! Can’t wait to use this again and skip the pricey salon.

Definitely happy to use an ammonium free product and the color is holding up well. Disappointed that in the listing no good pictures of end hair color and descriptions not accurate either. I ordered a light golden blond(my usual with US brands) and it was very dark for "light" so not happy with the color. Want something lighter and seems like there might not be such a choice. ... show more

I tried the shade 5 light brown. It was darker than expected but covered the grays plus it didn’t fade with wash. I wish they would come in cooler tones since all shades seem to be on the warmer side. Overall it’s a pretty good quality product plus it doesn’t smell chemically.

In the past I have used Ion color, Dark Golden Blonde. I assumed that this color would be about the same. It was way too dark. almost black. So now I have to figure out how to make it lighter.

I bought it because it said it was PPD free… and when I read the complete list of ingredients, the ones in the cream, it says: P-PHENYLENEDIAMINE SULFATE, that’s PPD! So I think that’s misleading. It isn’t that natural after all. I got a headache after I rinsed it. The color turned out pretty but the side effects and the chemicals in it isn’t worth it. I won’t buy it again. ... show more
