  • Quality recumbent cross trainer
This is an excellent recumbent bike. I bought the HCI PhysioStep for Christmas for my 88 year old father. He is thrilled with it. He use to workout on a NuStep machine when he belonged to a fitness center, this machine is equal to the NuStep machine but was half the price! It was easy to assemble and fits well in our living room. So happy I made this purchase. The delivery went well. It was brought right into our living room and we assembled it the same day. The swivel seat is really nice too. ... show more

  • Fantastic Except Spinning Handles
I just finished a 12 week cardiac rehab using a much more expensive total workout machine. The LXT Physiostep does the same workout but with fantastic programs. The only complaint I have are the crazy spinning handles. Those make not sense and makes it impossible to get a drink while working out. I have bruises on my knees to prove it. I have called HCI and requested the older handles which are no movable & have been told they are on back order. I can assume many others have made the same complaint. There is no way at all to keep the handles from spinning around. I've yet to receive the corrective handles. If not for that I would give it a 5. UPDATE Receive the new handles & a new module. Very pleased. The module stopped working with heart rate monitor I purchased. Corrected. This is a fantastic machine & sure give a great workout. ... show more

  • Customer support s non existent
I called in for help on setting up all features, they were busy and never returned the call. I have only been able to use the manual setting but none of the other features.

  • Shipping problem
The unit was delivered by a freight company that was supposed to remove it from the shipping container and pallet. The installer (purchased through Amazon) had to physically remove the boxes and main unit in order to get it into the house because of its bulk and weight. He enlisted the help from a passer-by for an additional charge. The installation was done exceptionally well and everything is now very satisfactory. ... show more

  • Go ahead. Compare it to the NuStep product!
The media could not be loaded. The computer/display failed due to the cabling being installed backwards thus snagging on screw holes not properly deburred. One of the adjustable hand grips failed when the retainer slipped out of place causing part of the gripping mechanism to fall to the bottom of the tube requiring me to disassemble, retrieve and reassemble. Hope that my glue keeps it in place. A strange clanking noise required a technician to disassemble the machine so that he could replace the connecting rods. Still not perfect, but usable. The computer/display now works, but sometimes (at least once) it stayed on over night, beeping every couple of minutes. Unplugging it from the wall for an hour seemed to reset it. Keep your fingers crossed. It's odd that HCI suggests comparing it to the NuStep product. Go ahead. Try adjusting the hand grips on both machines and tell me which one seems more likely to last. Certainly, if you'll be sharing this device with others, ask yourself about the utility of making several adjustments every day. Good luck! The computer/display unit on the HCI actually vibrates in a strange resonance with the speed of the elliptical making strange wobbling. I may have to do a YouTube video of this thing. Be careful to not grab the top of the display when getting on and off. It's not a hand hold! The back of the seat is too wide. When using the hand grips my elbows strike the back of the seat requiring me to sit several inches ahead of the seat back. Despite all of these troubles I've got about 500,000 cycles on it--about 100,000 on the new connecting rods. I am getting some exercise. However, I wish that I had tried one out before paying to have one shipped half-way across the continent. If you're thinking of making a purchase, find one, sit on it. Try adjusting the arms and the seat. Actually record and save a session using the computer. Then, compare it to other products and recall my father's admonition: "There's a difference between being economical and being cheap." When I told the vendor that my wife is angry about the clanking noise and that when the snow melts I'm going to drag it out on the patio where it won't bother her, he sent me a $200 gift certificate.and advised me to buy her something nice. I hit 1,000,000 cycles and 40,000 calories today so I've posted a video with sound. The clanking varies--I'm guessing that one of the connecting rods should have had a lock nut. It's getting worse. If I weren't such a cripple I'd take it apart and fix it myself. I get my second COVID vaccination in early March. By late March I'll be able to visit the wellness center and will post a video of a NuStep semi-recumbent with me chugging away. The wellness center machines have about three years of use. It'll be interesting to see how they compare. ... show more

  • Easy to use and work out your whole body
Once this was put together for me, I have it right next to my chair, facing the tv, so I can watch tv while working out. It is very quiet also, so don’t have to strain to hear over it. Love it!

  • Product
The machine is very good. Functions as advertised. The company support was very professional. I would order from the vendor again. The only difficulty was with the shipper. Wouldn’t use them again. John Reed
