I just installed this (50yr female with some decent DIY skills). It was pretty easy to do, all you need is a screwdriver. Took maybe twenty minutes to take the old lock off and put this one on. App seems easy to use and the lock is functioning smoothly. You can set it to lock automatically if you want and it gives you a time range that you can pick from. So auto lock at 15 seconds or two minutes. I did find it would extend the lock if I left the door open for a long period of time so that is something to be aware of. I like the fact that it’s very easy to program different codes, and you have the option to go back and see those codes in case you forget! You can set any particular code for specific days, specific time frames, or a period of days, or always. It has fingerprint ID plus two keys just in case. This makes it super easy to give dog walkers, housekeepers, or repairmen codes and limit their access. For instance my regular dog walker has access always, but the code for the alternative walker is only Monday-Friday 11am to 3pm. The lock will let you unlock it from far away too. So if the housekeeper arrives 30minutes before her allowed time, you could unlock the door while at work or even reset the timeframe for her. Liked the price too for a lock with wifi. Takes eight batteries which is kind of a lot, but since it does connect to the wifi and not just Bluetooth, I can see why it does. The only thing I wish this had is automatic unlocking when the phone comes within a few feet of the door. If I have problems I’ll update the review but so far, so good.

So far so happy! After going through 4 different manufacturers and ongoing defective locks, the Philips Smart Wifi lock has been far the best for easy installation, excellent simple to understand user manual, diagram with accurate pictures of parts and useful lock features. Most locks did not come with a 2 year warranty like the Philips which tells you that they do not stand behind their product quality. The lock seems to be a decent made lock. I was looking for a fingerprint function and most other locks did not work as well as this Philips for ease of set up and actual fingerprint scanning. I like the keypad with the actual raised numbers for a tactile feel. It came with 2 keys. Very cool that the keyhole is hidden underneath the fingerprint reader. You wouldn't know there was a keyhole for backup unless you knew to articulate the fingerprint reader and rotate it upwards. Very nice lock and I highly recommend so far. Not sure how long the 8 AA batteries will last since I just installed it. It works on both BT and wifi for remote functioning. Batteries are not included.

Works well, and is easy to install if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. The only tool needed to install is a #2 Phillips screwdriver, and some elbow grease :) Durable, looks very nice, and fits most doors. Can be opened/closed remotely through the Philips Home Access app. The fingerprint sensor is super fast and works perfectly. Good lock for Airbnb hosts and anyone looking for a solid smart lock.

Easy to install to replace the Utec/Ultraloq, which had crapped out after less than one year of operation. The Phillips unit is far superior, as it has a decent phone app and can also work with our Alexa. It also has built-in WiFi so we can scrap the bridge that the Ultraloq required. This new unit has a smooth operation, provides a great record of who locked/unlocked the door via the keypad. WE can assigne numbers to each family member or others who might come and go. This can be done on a one-time basis, for a given period of time, etc etc. And it can all be done form the phone, regardless of our location. Being able to secure your home is a critical function ... don't take a chance! I discourage anyone from buying the Ultraloq unit. It was sketchy to begin with (the thumbprint scanner seldom worked) and last week it would not respond to the keypad. I contacted customer service, as I was an original buyer of 2 units during a crowd-raise. One was installed 5 years ago, and the other I kept until last year for a new install. It didn't last 12 months. After several days of trying different fixes, their customer service offered me a replacement at list less 30%, which if you shop around is available to everyone. So not exactly bending over backward. The Phillips unit was marginally more money than the crappier Ultrloq (even after their discount), so I went with it. I hope it lasts longer ... and so far so good. The thumb scanner etc, works great.

Don’t think twice !! I’ve had ongoing issues with ‘smart’ door locks for years. This one is awesome - WiFi is built in so no need for external hub - it’s made by Phillips so it has clear concise instructions - solid, great build quality - fingerprint reader is super reliable . If I need it and Phillips makes it - I’m buying it - no more knock off cheap options.

We’ve had 6 locks like these and there’s always something wrong with the lock. We had one that completely stopped working in 1 month soon as free return was ended and it was 300$ from Schlage. Anyway you could tell from the beginning they were not gonna last. Well this one truly feels better, solid and works great. We are sitting here trying to decide if we want to go ahead and get one for the backdoor. It works really good I’ll comment in about 3 months for longevity by then we should be able to tell if there good or not. Easy setup just take your time and read instructions because it does have the fingerprint which is very convenient. I am extremely impressed considering we paid 300$ for the other 6 and 90$ for this one, it’s name brand so I have high hopes. Definitely recommend!!!!!! Hope this helps you in making a decision!

Great door lock. Easy to install and program. Device works well. However, it takes 8 AA batteries. I installed this item on 6 Feb 2026. Dead battery indicator on 16 March 2026. 8 batteries every month? That's quite a bit of $$$. 5/19/26 update. Following my initial review, I was contacted by Philips and offered an upgraded (digital keypad) replacement door lock. The lock was sent to me free of charge and in a timely manner. Customer service was great. New lock not yet installed. I will provide another update upon installing and trying out new lock.
