When we moved into our new house last year, I replaced the 35-year-old ceiling fans in the bedrooms with more modern models. And verily, it was good! Except for the cheapo no-name fan I stuck in the bedroom I use for my office. For some reason, the manufacturer thought it would be a great idea to make the fan beep every time you pushed a button on the remote or flipped the power switch, with no way to disable the feature. It wasn't a deal-killer for an office, but it would have been *deeply* annoying if we'd been using the space as a bedroom. Since that might happen someday, I've been keeping my eye out for a better replacement. I came across this Philips model and decided now was the time. So far, I'm really pleased. It's got a slightly more streamlined look than the fan it replaced, which I like. I was kinda hoping for a more flush-mounted model, but the 5-inch downrod is pretty ideal. As promised in the product description, it's quiet and moves a LOT of air - at least as much as the five-blade fan it replaced. The first setting is plenty while I'm working on warm summer days. Anything above setting number three starts to blow too many papers around my desk. The remote is a bit larger than I'd like, but the big buttons are easy to find and press. I like the ability to choose my color of white light - I prefer warm white in most cases, but the cooler tones are nice for certain tasks, and it's handy to have the choice at the touch of a button. Speaking of the light, it seems a little less intense than I expected. It's advertised at 2650 lumens, and while I can't objectively verify, it seems dimmer than that. Still bright enough at max power for what I need, and it's nice that I can dim it with the remote for evening work. Also worth noting: if you plan on using the fan with a wall switch, the fan remembers the last power-on state, so you don't have to constantly reset your light and fan settings. Installation is... a chore. I was hoping it would be a bit easier than the last fan, but yikes do things get tight where it meets the ceiling. The control box takes some effort to slide into place. I had to loosen several screws and adjust the wiring ten different ways to get everything to fit, then re-tighten, hoping that I was getting everything tight enough to prevent wobbling but not so tight that I was kinking the wiring sleeve coming up from the fan motor and LED panel. So far, so good, but it was the least-fun part of the whole process. Probably less bad if you're going to use the longer 10-inch downrod, but still unpleasant. But one thing I noticed during installation is that overall quality seems quite good. There are small things that made it apparent this name-brand product was built better than the generic fan it was replacing: a thicker steel mounting bracket, the safety cable, thicker wiring, and more complete grounding, to name a few. But of course, you pay a premium. This fan is maybe 50% more expensive than the generic fan I ordered last year. It's probably worth the extra cost, but it sure wouldn't hurt to get this on sale if you can swing it.

A quality product from a reputable company. This is a stylish ceiling fan, the 3 blades can still effectively move air on par with the more common 5 blade units. So I'm not going to post photos of the fan itself, if you want to know what it looks like, they have enough photos on the product page, but there is one detail that usually doesn't show up on the product page and that is the tag on the top of the motor. So here's the deal, I've been offered products to review on vine, there's the good, the bad, and the ugly. Code requires that all electrical items be UL or ETL listed. Some items are, some are not, and some will even say they are on the product page, but the actual product is not. And that's ugly! This one... says ETL listed on the product page and on the product itself! And that's good! That certification essentially means that the product will perform to its rating. The light on this is LED, no replaceable screw in style. That concerns me a little since despite the thousands of rated hours on many of the LED bulbs, the actual performance has been a little less stellar. I suppose the LED disk can be replaced if it fails, I've seen replacement LED disk for sale. Since this is from a reputable brand, the chances are higher that replacements will be available in the future for this product. The entire fan is controlled via its remote controller. So there is only the hot, neutral, and ground wire to connect to the controller. The fan and light have an easy to use plug in connectors to the remote controller. The controller remembers its last setting when the power is turned off, so if the lights were off, they will still be off when you switch the power back on. This controller also gives you the option to change color temperature of the light from a soft white to a bright white to a daylight white. Also has a dimming option, and personally here the dimming performance is a little anemic at only dimming to a 20% level. Most will dim to at least 10% and the better ones will go down to 1%. If you want a very soft light or night light version, plan on a separate light fixture providing that. Also has 6 speeds, plus a timer option to turn the fan off automatically. My take... that ETL listing says it all! Highly recommended (if you like the style😊)

I installed this Philips ceiling fan in my master bedroom, replacing a 13-year-old five-blade fan that had become outdated and had started making a noticeable humming noise. The difference was immediately noticeable. This fan has a much more modern look, operates very quietly, and provides excellent airflow throughout the room. Initially, I was a little concerned that it only had three blades compared to the five blades on my old fan. However, the longer blade design and efficient DC motor more than make up for it. Airflow is impressive, and the room feels just as comfortable, if not more so than with the previous fan. Even at medium speeds, it circulates air very effectively, while the higher speeds provide plenty of cooling power. The integrated LED light is another standout feature. It is bright, evenly distributed, and highly customizable. The ability to switch between warm white, neutral white, and daylight white, along with smooth dimming, makes it easy to create the right atmosphere for any time of day. Whether I need bright lighting for reading or softer lighting in the evening, this fan delivers. Installation was straightforward and easier than expected. The fan feels solid and well-built once installed, and the included remote control is very convenient. Having six fan speeds, dimming controls, light color selection, and airflow direction all accessible from the remote makes day-to-day use simple. The only thing I miss from my previous fan setup is the ability to control the fan and light separately from dedicated wall switches when entering the room. My old fan was wired so the fan and light could each be operated independently from the wall switch. With this Philips model, most functionality is handled through the remote control. While the remote works well, it does require a change in habit if you're used to traditional dual-switch operation. I am always impressed at how things like this are boxed and shipped. That's just my nerdy side comment. When I received this and started unboxing it, I couldn't imagine how it could turn out as substantial as the measurements in the description. But after you have put it together, there it is - exactly as described! Note that there are only three blades to this fan. That concerned me, a little. The room we put it in has had a fan with five blades. And it's a room that gets a lot of sunlight - the ceiling fan is a necessity. But while this only has three blades, they are longer than those in the fan it replaced. So, the air it moves is impressive - at least as much as the five-blade fan it replaced. The light in this fan is awesome. It can basically be adjusted to infinity. A couple very specific things that makes this especially useful for us. We put it in my daughter's room. And while I don't feel comfortable going into specifics, I'll just say that my daughter has some long-term, chronic health issues. One of her regular symptoms is severe headaches. Light sensitivity is one of the worst parts about her headaches. Since this fan can be adjusted down to the minute detail, the light is quite useful for us - in just about any situation. The other thing I love is the handy remote. Again, going back to my daughter's health, it is so wonderful for her to adjust the light and air movement without having to get up. I don't think we realized what a game changer that would be until we actually had a remote that allowed it. Throw in the fact that it was simple and easy to install, it wasn't difficult for me to justify giving it five stars in my review. Well designed; aesthetically pleasing; easy to install - you won't be sorry, getting this fan.

This is a really fantastic ceiling fan! It is just a really solid, well-made fan overall, and I have been really impressed with it. It is incredibly quiet, which depending on your goals is either a huge plus or a minor downside. I personally like a bit of fan noise at night for white noise, so it is a tiny bit too quiet for my taste, but I fully recognize that is completely subjective and most people are going to absolutely love how quiet it is. At 38 dB on the lowest speed it is genuinely whisper quiet. It moves a ton of air though, which is really impressive. Even on the lower speeds you can really feel it circulating the air around the room nicely, and on the higher speeds it is really powerful. The light options are fantastic too. You get three selectable color temperatures, 3000K, 4000K, and 6500K, plus dimming down to 20% brightness, so you have a really nice range of options for any time of day. The remote works really well and makes switching between everything really easy. Installation is pretty standard if you have installed a ceiling fan before, nothing out of the ordinary there. One thing I will note is that I am not totally sure if the integrated LED can be replaced if it ever dies. I am not 100% certain on that, but it is worth looking into before buying since it could be a long-term concern. Overall though, it is just a really well-made, solid ceiling fan, and I really have no major complaints!
