I read some reviews that said they received broken pieces and returned items, but will say that we had no issues; all were new components. Can't beat the price; especially when ordering for a 2-dog family. Because the perimeter is a circle (no other options for shape), we had to think through the best spot in the house that would allow the most space for the dogs, but once that was figured out, the set up was super easy (definitely easier with 2 people.). We have 2 boxers, 85 pounds each and very energetic, but all it took was one time going past the flags and getting "zapped" and now they don't even bother going near the flags. Not even the distraction of people walking by tempts them; though we still are waiting to see what happens when another dog goes by, but so far so good. We used yard paint to mark where the flags are so that we could easily find the location for the flags after we pulled them to mow the yard. I would recommend this product. ... show more

We purchased this kit, but then it got cold again and the ground froze, so we waited a few weeks before setting it up. I wish that we had waited to order because now we have been trying out the system and would like to return it, but we have exceeded our return window. We followed all of the steps to set up the system and even though we walked around the yard a few times, the beeping was inconsistent, so we set up a second color flag to help give us an estimate. Because of this, training has not been positive. Sometimes the collars beep and sometimes they don't. The other day the collars were beeping while the dogs were inside. Batteries last about five days. I don't feel safe having my dogs wear these colors because I don't want them to get shocked if they are inside the boundary. ... show more

I’ve never used an electric fencing system as an adult. I have negative memories of the ones we used when I was a teenager. Overall, I’m pleased with the product. The collars are easy to put on and off and adjust. Setting up the system was definitely a two person job and took a while with a number of adjustments. As noted, the control unit needs to be in the middle of the property. It goes out in an exact circle, so it took adjustments within the home, and then we needed to adjust number of feet out from the unit, placing the flags each time we did an adjustment to avoid reaching the street and not going into the yards of our neighbors but still giving our dogs the ability to circle the house without the warning beeps and shaking. We have mother and daughter Labrador retrievers. I’m convinced that the mother at best tolerates the system. With a higher level voltage on her collar, I’ve seen her stand in the zone where she’s being shocked repeatedly because she wants pets from a neighbor. However, she delivered her puppies without so much as a whimper, so I guess she’s just toughening it up. The reality is that she seems content to stay in the yard while wearing it except for visits with neighbors. Her daughter, who is under age 2, is extremely aware of the system and won’t take a chance at being shocked. She actually has much more energy and less common sense, so it’s a win on that front. As the instruction specify, the dogs should not be wearing the collars for extended periods, so make sure you give their neck a rest beyond the charging times and remove the collars at night. My one big complaint, and I don’t understand why, is that when the dogs are in our car, in the middle of the property and not near the electric fence line, I’ve seen the collars malfunction and repeatedly shock the dogs. Obviously we’re removing the collars before putting them in the car these days. I verified that they were not within range of the boundary, and I don’t understand why it’s happened. Overall, though, we’ve been using the system for over a half year, and we are satisfied with it. ... show more

Have two spirited black labs that we want to keep away from road. The flags made it super easy to train and now they are only on tone warning and a vibrate warning. There aren’t any issues that have the fence delay correction which is a concern we had about other brands. We have our farm dogs out all day and take collars off and put dogs away at night. Been waiting to review these for a long time till I had to use them a lot and got used to them. Major con is the price. For what you get, it's hard to justify the price. Another con is that even the largest size ring is definitely smaller than an acre.
