Features

  • #1 Most Dogs Protected: Powered by PrecisionGPS technology, Halo Collar 5 connects to six satellite constellations using dual-frequency L1 and L5 signals to deliver accuracy within 1.4 feet. AI-driven software filters interference from buildings and trees, while advanced drift prevention keeps your dogs location precise, even when standing still.
  • Subscription required to activate GPS & fence features: Your Halo membership unlocks GPS tracking, unlimited cellular data, virtual fence creation, training guidance, live support, and activity reports. Choose your plan after purchase to enable tracking and containment.
  • Know where your dog is the moment it matters: Know your dog's exact location 24/7 with AlwaysOn GPS that comes standard with every plan and never stops tracking your dog. Get instant smartphone alerts if they approach or cross a boundary.
  • Built for all yard sizes, rural properties, and wide-open spaces: Advanced GPS technology works with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular connections to keep your dog's location updated 20 times per second. Create and store multiple fences, even on rural properties, hiking trails, and remote locations where other GPS collars fail.
  • Professional training guidance built-in: An exclusive training program by Cesar Millan teaches any dog to understand the automatic sound, vibration, and static (optional) warnings they receive as they approach a boundary.
  • Longer battery, faster charging: Upgraded 48-hour battery life keeps your dog safely contained longer between charges. Rapid charging restores up to two full days of protection in about 1 hour.
  • Fits small, medium & large dogs (10 lbs and up): Adjustable 830 inch collar ensures a secure fit for most breeds. Waterproof (IP67) and built for active dogs who run, swim, and explore.
  • Works without wires or base stations: Unlike traditional wireless dog fences that need a plug-in transmitter, Halo Collar is entirely self-contained and works using satellite and cellular connectivity. Take it anywhere without hauling equipment. Create a new fence in seconds from your phone (with sizes ranging from 900 sq. ft. to 1,200 sq. miles), whether you're at home, a friend's house, or a campsite.

  • Couldn’t be happier!
Size: One Size Color: Blaze
Okay, It’s not the cheapest solution on the market. But I tried cheap. Only to return it. Cheap equals slow unresponsive coverage in a rural area. That’s where I live. I have two escape artists. They are very athletic and have defied all my efforts to keep them in our fenced yard. Halo actually worked surprisingly well. I set my boundaries. Started the training and haven’t lost them since. I have tracked them on long walks. I get meaningful real time feedback. What a relief. There is a learning curve for you and the dog. But there are a wealth of great videos to help. I admit at first it was a little confusing, but, with a little experimenting and trial and error it all worked out. Seems like a well made product and it works as advertised. ... show more

  • They may seem a bit pricey, but they are well worth it.
Size: One Size Color: Orchid
This collar has been a life saver. It was incredibly easy to set up. The tutorial walked you through the process. I have 2 dogs and purchased 2 collars. You are able to customize each collar to the individual dog. The battery life lasts for several days and will alert you when it's getting too low. Very durable which is great since I have hunting dogs. The beep and whistle command is all my dogs need to stay in their area. My male dog would try to run all over the neighborhood. Now he gets to the edge, gets the alert (which you also get an alert on your phone) and he turns right back around. I am very thankful for these collars. They may seem a bit pricey at first, but they are well worth it. ... show more

  • Should have bought it sooner
Size: One Size Color: Graphite
So far this has been a good piece of equipment. We've experimented with many different collars over the last couple of years, having spent enough to buy two of these already, I believe! We've been using this collar for about a month, and he's managed to beat it twice, but I believe both times were because of "operator error". So far so good. It's easy to use. It was easy to set up. Subscribing was easy (grrr). And we anticipate buying a second one very soon. ... show more

  • Not accurate enough to safely contain dog in suburban yard
Size: One Size Color: Blaze
The good: Easy instructions; High quality; Great phone interface; Easy to make a custom fence in the app; great customer service. The bad: GPS is NOT accurate enough to keep your dog contained in a regular "suburban" yard. This is not Halo's fault - but the GPS accuracy is at best 30 to 40 feet. In may case that meant the collar would beep when my lab was either in the middle of my neighbors yard (which I was trying to avoid) or still at my front door so she was terrified to go outside. Also - it only buzzed about 70% of the time and the remaining times it would not give a signal. The idea is great - but technology is not quite ready for a neighborhood yard. ... show more

  • Great
Size: One Size Color: Orchid
Great product. We live in a cellular dead zone and the collars still work great! Occasional connection issue in certain spots of our yard, but overall work wonderful. They’ve made life so much easier without a real fence. Battery life is good— about a day and a half, so we just try to charge at night. Our dogs learned and picked up the fencing quickly. ... show more

  • Limited usefulness outside the city.
Size: One Size Color: Graphite
I'm only a few days into owning two Halo 5 collars, so these are first impressions. Firstly, unless you live in the city with a strong, reliable cell signal, most of the collar's functions are not going to work for you. The GPS fencing should still work, as long as your city lot is also treeless with a completely unobstructed view of the sky. But for me who lives where cell signals are frequently absent or just a couple of bars and have a wooded property, it's just not working out. Secondly, I was shocked to find that your dog's whereabouts are not recorded. If she roams where there is no cell or WiFi (which is 90% of my land), there is no way to download and review the history to she where she has been. This is a feature commonly found on collars that are literally 1/10th the cost (Tractive, $40-$50; PetLink $65, etc.). I can't fathom why this feature isn't offered. After all, the required hardware is already built in, all that would be necessary to implement this would be some software. This is a HUGE hole in an otherwise very capable piece of gear. The app is useful, but not intuitive. It takes a good while to learn and remember where to find all the various settings and functions. Give yourself plenty of time to get thoroughly acquainted with it before you start training. You don't want to be fumbling around menus trying to find the whistle while your dog is racing away towards the highway! Even better than the app would be handheld remote that simply provided immediate access to the feedback functions; whistle, warning, encouragements, etc. So if you live on a treeless lot in the city or only want to use GPS fencing, the Halo 5 might work for you. But otherwise I can't recommend. I may decide to keep the collars solely for the GPS fencing, but we'll see. Update 1/2/26: Unfortunately, we weren't able to make these collars work for us and will be returning them. On the positive side, the seller's customer support has been absolutely stellar! They've been nothing but understanding and very helpful. ... show more

  • Useful but not perfect
Size: One Size Color: Midnight
These work okay. You have to have a monthly service for the gps to work. It’s $21.06/month for our two. The battery life isn’t great and if you have dogs who love to get dirty, it will cake the plug connection and you have to clean it out. The batteries are lasting about 12-14 hours a day. The gps service doesn’t always work either and sometimes it can take up to 5 mins to connect. Theres also a dead spot on our property that is just out of range of WiFi that they like to go to and then the call back button doesn’t work. So it’s not perfect but I do feel safer knowing that even if my dogs chase a coyote, rabbit, or deer, it will let us know so we can go get them for their safety. ... show more
