Product Care Instructions: Care Instructions – Halo Collar The collar is waterproof and dust-proof, safe for daily wear in rain, mud, and water play. Wipe down with a damp cloth after outdoor use to remove dirt and debris; mild soap can be used on the strap if needed, followed by a thorough rinse and air dry. Do not submerge in a dryer, expose to extreme heat, or clean with solvents, bleach, or abrasive cleaners, as this can damage the electronics or contact points., Care Instructions – Halo Pro Case Remove the case from the collar via the Velcro fasteners before cleaning. Rinse under cool to warm water and wipe with a soft cloth or sponge; mild dish soap or laundry detergent is fine, but rinse thoroughly. Air dry or blot dry with a soft cotton towel. Our beagle had become an expert at digging under our fence and taking off around the neighborhood. Every time he got out, we were worried something would happen to him. We finally decided to try the Halo Collar 5, and it has honestly been one of the best purchases we’ve made for our dog. The setup was much easier than I expected. The app walks you through each step, and the built-in training made it easy to understand what we needed to do. We were able to start training on the first day, and our beagle responded really well. The lessons are simple, clear, and don’t feel overwhelming. The collar itself is very well made. We chose the Ranger color, and it looks great on our beagle. It’s easy to adjust for the perfect fit, and the buckle makes it quick to put on and take off. Even though the material feels strong and durable, it also seems comfortable enough for him to wear all day. The biggest difference has been the peace of mind. Instead of constantly worrying that he’ll find another way out of the yard, we can let him enjoy being outside without the same level of stress. The virtual fence has worked really well for us, and I love that I can make changes right from the app without having to deal with wires. No product is completely hands-off, and I think it’s important to spend the time doing the training. That made all the difference for us. My experience with Halo has been so disappointing that other dog owners deserve to know what they're getting into. I purchased a Halo Collar approximately three months ago for my now 8-month-old Golden Retriever. The system is marketed as a premium GPS containment solution, and at roughly $500 plus an ongoing subscription, I expected reliability and responsive customer support. Instead, I've experienced repeated boundary drift issues where the fence line appears to shift significantly from where it was originally set. On multiple occasions, the collar corrected my dog well inside what should have been a safe area. The final straw occurred when my dog was lying on his bed, nowhere near the boundary line, and the collar delivered a correction. After spending hours troubleshooting with support, I was told the collar was one firmware update behind and that the issue may have been related to a firmware update that failed to install properly. Think about that for a moment. A dog was corrected inside a designated safe area because a firmware update may not have successfully installed. My dog has no way of understanding the difference between a legitimate boundary correction and a software failure. All he knows is that he was punished while doing absolutely nothing wrong. The customer service experience has been equally frustrating. Over the course of a single week, I spent more than three hours on hold with Halo. At one point, I was staring at a Dog Park chat queue that remained stuck for an extended period while the phone system reported dozens of callers ahead of me. To be fair, every representative I spoke with was polite and professional. The problem is not the frontline employees. The problem is the system. Long wait times appear to be normal, and customers are expected to invest hours of their own time troubleshooting products that should simply work. What ultimately pushed this review to one star—or honestly zero stars if that were an option—is the warranty process. Even after technical support acknowledged that the collar needed replacement, obtaining that replacement became another lengthy process involving additional contacts, authorizations, and delays. When a premium safety product fails, the replacement process should be straightforward. Instead, it felt like I had to repeatedly prove there was a problem despite extensive troubleshooting and documented incidents. The most concerning part is that this is not a cosmetic defect or a convenience issue. This product is designed to deliver corrections to animals. Accuracy and reliability are the entire point of the system. When the technology fails, it directly affects your dog's trust, confidence, and safety. I wanted to love Halo. I was willing to pay premium pricing for premium performance. Unfortunately, my experience has been a defective collar, shifting boundaries, false corrections, excessive support wait times, and a frustrating warranty process. We live in the country on 5 acres and our dog was becoming us an escape artist she was hopping over fences going into other farms and we were worried that she was gonna get shot and we tried everything to keep her. I couldn’t leave her in the backyard unattended. Then we got the halo collar and it changed everything. I was so frustrated. I was actually thinking about taking her back to the rescue, but since we got the halo, it’s changed her life in our lives for the better. She’s well behaved now she responds to the warnings. Great collars, not good in rural areas rarely get alerts unless connected to wifi. Call signal Is poor in my area once dog leaves wifi area no alerts unfortunately. Have troubleshooting done many times with customer service they are responsive but just not good with poor cell service

Coming back on here after having and using this collar for about 2 months. We have it on our 9 month old lab dog, she was bred to be a duck hunting dog in her future. Plus having a 1-year old child starting to walk. I am very pleased with this purchase as it has helped with a lot of anxiety and stress when living close the road and with a busy baby. We also have a specific layout of barns. We wanted a collar system that allowed us the create a specific outline, which is did. I would recommend about a week of training with your dog, walking them around on the leash with collar, getting them familiar with the border and sounds. Battery life seems functional for the day. We then charge the collar each night while she is in her pen. It is adjustable to any size. There have only been a few instances where the collar may beep/vibrate when our dog went near the border but then came back. It seems like there may be a slight delay in the GPS reading at times which caused it to beep while she was back sitting in the safe zone. I also had an instance where we had construction workers on our road, our dog crossed the outline multiple times and seemed unaware of the vibrations/shocks. I do think that was because she is a 9-month old lab puppy, she is going to be pretty high energy for the next 5 years. We did purchase this collar and the yearly subscription price that comes with it, but to me it was worth creating our specific fence and providing me with a safe assurance while I’m inside or outside with my baby. I was very hesitant about this collar due to the reviews on Amazon but decided to take the chance after a lot of YouTube reviews etc. I’ve had this collar for a month and love it so far. Yes! Yes! Yes! It was really easy to train my dog to the boundaries of the wireless fence. It gives my dog more freedom than our physical fence. The whistle feature has been helpful on recalling my dog. It’s not the collar function on slow recall but my stubborn dog. Lol Now, there is a drawback to the collar and that is cellular/wireless function. I live in a very rural area with no cell reception, so when the wifi goes down I have to put up my dog to make sure he doesn’t try to leave. I have also had problems with the battery holding the full charge but customer service has been great trying to fix the problem. (We are still working on it.)
