Dual-frequency GPS, drift prevention, and proprietary AI obstacle filtering do the rest.
  • Subscription required to activate GPS & fence features: Your Halo membership unlocks GPS tracking, unlimited cellular data, virtual fence creation, training guidance, live support, and activity reports. Choose your plan after purchase to enable tracking and containment.
  • Know where your dog is the moment it matters: Know your dog's exact location 24/7 with AlwaysOn GPS that comes standard with every plan and never stops tracking your dog. Get instant smartphone alerts if they approach or cross a boundary.
  • Built for all yard sizes, rural properties, and wide-open spaces: Advanced GPS technology works with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular connections to keep your dog's location updated 20 times per second. Create and store multiple fences, even on rural properties, hiking trails, and remote locations where other GPS collars fail.
  • Professional training guidance built-in: An exclusive training program by Cesar Millan teaches any dog to understand the automatic sound, vibration, and static (optional) warnings they receive as they approach a boundary.

Description

Visit the Store Visit the Store The Halo Collar uses sound, vibration, or optimal static feedback. There is prevention and encouragement feedback. Charge everynight for best performance and experience. If you're dog is already trained on another fence system, Halo can use the same sounds and settings that your dog has already learned. Either way, it is best to practice. What’s new for the Halo Collar 5? Redesigned with 2 chips for faster, more stable long-range connection. The AI-enhanced tracking technology delivers unmatched location accuracy. How is Halo different from other “smart” GPS and tracking dog collars? Halo Collar is a GPS fence that keeps your dog safely inside the area you define. Unlike tracking collars, which only tell you after your dog has escaped, Halo prevents them from leaving in the first place. How accurate are Halo Fences compared to other “wired” fences? Halo Fences are wireless so there is no installation, no wires, no digging, and no property damage required. Halo Fences can be placed anywhere, and are not limited by geography or other obstacles that prevent installation of a wire. What if my dog escapes the Halo Fence? If your dog leaves their Halo fence, you'll be instantly notified. Your dog will keep getting corrections if they continue moving away from home, and encouragement while they're returning. You can track your dog's real-time location in the Halo app. Does Halo use static feedback? When is this feedback useful? Halo uses optional static feedback to mimic a tap on the shoulder (as opposed to an e-collar, which hurts your dog) to break your dog's fixation in dangerous and distraction-filled situations. You can choose the level that’s best for your dog. • Safe containment. Easy tracking.
Color: Blaze Size: One Size
I live in a very remote area and tried all kinds of collars and fence lines to keep my dogs safe and at home. The Halo collar contains the dogs AND gives me GPS to find them when they cross the fence line. So far there have’nt been any fence escapes. The price is a little steep but it is less than Spot On. Great collar for spotty cell service because it is GPS that it relies on. It also has very easy and thorough training for setting your dog up for success with the new collar and fence system. A thumbs up for me 👍 ... show more

  • It works for me.
Color: Ranger Size: One Size
I primarily use the Halo Collar 5 at our property in Idaho. We have decorative white rail fencing that looks great but isn't very secure, and the area has a true outdoor, wildlife filled setting. Our dog is extremely friendly, and if she spots someone walking down the road, she's off to make a new friend. As much as I enjoy seeing her social side, I'm not comfortable with her running toward the road, which is why I decided to try the Halo Collar. So far, I've been impressed with the mapping and fence creation. The satellite image quality for my property was surprisingly good, and I've found the fence accuracy to be reliable. My recommendation is to create your fence, activate it, and then walk the entire perimeter with the collar in your hand. This gives you a good feel for where the boundaries are and helps verify that everything is working as expected before putting it on your dog. I've found that my dog is very responsive to the sound feedback, so I haven't had to use the static correction feature. I'll also mention a couple of things that may help other owners. First, I charge the collar every day. I don't really care what the advertised battery life is I'm not willing to risk the battery dying and losing track of my dog. I treat this collar as a tool to keep my dog safe in certain situations, not as a set it and forget it solution. To me, it's no different than using a leash when walking my dog on public roads. When we're done with the walk, I take the leash off and put it away. The collar serves a similar purpose. At our primary home, my dog can free roam safely because the property is fully fenced. In Idaho, where the fencing is more decorative than secure, I need to be more aware of her surroundings and the potential risks. ... show more

  • Cannot recommend
Color: Realtree Camo Size: One Size
My experience with Halo has been so disappointing that other dog owners deserve to know what they're getting into. I purchased a Halo Collar approximately three months ago for my now 8-month-old Golden Retriever. The system is marketed as a premium GPS containment solution, and at roughly $500 plus an ongoing subscription, I expected reliability and responsive customer support. Instead, I've experienced repeated boundary drift issues where the fence line appears to shift significantly from where it was originally set. On multiple occasions, the collar corrected my dog well inside what should have been a safe area. The final straw occurred when my dog was lying on his bed, nowhere near the boundary line, and the collar delivered a correction. After spending hours troubleshooting with support, I was told the collar was one firmware update behind and that the issue may have been related to a firmware update that failed to install properly. Think about that for a moment. A dog was corrected inside a designated safe area because a firmware update may not have successfully installed. My dog has no way of understanding the difference between a legitimate boundary correction and a software failure. All he knows is that he was punished while doing absolutely nothing wrong. The customer service experience has been equally frustrating. Over the course of a single week, I spent more than three hours on hold with Halo. At one point, I was staring at a Dog Park chat queue that remained stuck for an extended period while the phone system reported dozens of callers ahead of me. To be fair, every representative I spoke with was polite and professional. The problem is not the frontline employees. The problem is the system. Long wait times appear to be normal, and customers are expected to invest hours of their own time troubleshooting products that should simply work. What ultimately pushed this review to one star—or honestly zero stars if that were an option—is the warranty process. Even after technical support acknowledged that the collar needed replacement, obtaining that replacement became another lengthy process involving additional contacts, authorizations, and delays. When a premium safety product fails, the replacement process should be straightforward. Instead, it felt like I had to repeatedly prove there was a problem despite extensive troubleshooting and documented incidents. The most concerning part is that this is not a cosmetic defect or a convenience issue. This product is designed to deliver corrections to animals. Accuracy and reliability are the entire point of the system. When the technology fails, it directly affects your dog's trust, confidence, and safety. I wanted to love Halo. I was willing to pay premium pricing for premium performance. Unfortunately, my experience has been a defective collar, shifting boundaries, false corrections, excessive support wait times, and a frustrating warranty process. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Halo. ... show more

  • I’m very impressed with how well this works
Color: Blaze Size: One Size
I’m very impressed with the quality and accuracy of this collar. I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube before committing to the purchase. It took me roughly 5 weeks to be comfortable taking my 5 month old golden retriever off leash and totally depending on the collar. I think she was ready in 3 weeks. The training is not hard and the app guides you every step of the way and you can get help from people if needed. I didn’t have to contact them. The alert settings for your dog can be customized. I got mine on sale so watch for that. The collar is very sturdy. It’s not heavy but be sure you check their website for the size dogs it will fit. It is big but my dog doesn’t mind it. The app setup and sizing for my dog was easy. I am very happy with the results. Im comfortable letting her wander freely inside the virtual fence now. Also research their beacons on their website. They’re not sold on Amazon. The one I bought works well and was easy to setup as well. ... show more

  • Great collar but has a quirk or two
Color: Orchid Size: One Size
We love this thing for our doodle. Yes, these are expensive, but for what they do they work really well. Being able to quickly set up a virtual fence wherever you travel is a game changer and gives you real peace of mind. The GPS tracking is solid and the setup is straightforward. The one downside we’ve run into is occasionally she’ll get a warning buzz after coming back inside the house, which seems like the GPS catching up or a slight boundary hiccup. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing going in. Overall really happy with it and would still recommend it to any dog owner who travels with their pup. ... show more

  • This collar is a game-changer!
Color: Graphite Size: One Size
This collar is amazing! It changes everything and is the easiest system we’ve ever had. Our dog was consistently digging out nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day. We had tried everything. And then we would spend hours trying to find her. Now we know instantly if she is even getting near the perimeter and we know where’s she’s at at all times because of the GPS. The app is super easy and user friendly. It gives real time notifications and you can control things from the app when you’re not home. You can set up more than one area - so we can set up a perimeter at my daughters for when we bring the dogs to her house which is unlike anything else out there in terms of dog “fences.” You can also give your dog a small vibration warning if it starts to dig out of its perimeter Completely worth it and the monthly subscription is only $10/month ... show more

  • Limited usefulness outside the city.
Color: Graphite Size: One Size
I'm only a few days into owning two Halo 5 collars, so these are first impressions. Firstly, unless you live in the city with a strong, reliable cell signal, most of the collar's functions are not going to work for you. The GPS fencing should still work, as long as your city lot is also treeless with a completely unobstructed view of the sky. But for me who lives where cell signals are frequently absent or just a couple of bars and have a wooded property, it's just not working out. Secondly, I was shocked to find that your dog's whereabouts are not recorded. If she roams where there is no cell or WiFi (which is 90% of my land), there is no way to download and review the history to she where she has been. This is a feature commonly found on collars that are literally 1/10th the cost (Tractive, $40-$50; PetLink $65, etc.). I can't fathom why this feature isn't offered. After all, the required hardware is already built in, all that would be necessary to implement this would be some software. This is a HUGE hole in an otherwise very capable piece of gear. The app is useful, but not intuitive. It takes a good while to learn and remember where to find all the various settings and functions. Give yourself plenty of time to get thoroughly acquainted with it before you start training. You don't want to be fumbling around menus trying to find the whistle while your dog is racing away towards the highway! Even better than the app would be handheld remote that simply provided immediate access to the feedback functions; whistle, warning, encouragements, etc. So if you live on a treeless lot in the city or only want to use GPS fencing, the Halo 5 might work for you. But otherwise I can't recommend. I may decide to keep the collars solely for the GPS fencing, but we'll see. Update 1/2/26: Unfortunately, we weren't able to make these collars work for us and will be returning them. On the positive side, the seller's customer support has been absolutely stellar! They've been nothing but understanding and very helpful. ... show more

  • Very glitchy
Color: Orchid Size: One Size
This collar consistently has issues with connectivity, gps signal, the collar signal itself slides down under the dogs neck now matter how much you tighten it, it loosens right up. The rubber collar strap itself isn’t super high quality. In just a few months I’ve had to repeatedly replace the screws for the collar because they’ve just come loose and my dogs collars fell off on our property and I had to go retrieve it. The biggest problem is that the collar will randomly beep and use static correction on our dog for being well within their fence limits. Customer service has been unhelpful, because they’ve don’t have a solution for the issues we are having. They have checked everything on their end and told us nothing is wrong. That’s clearly not the case when our dogs are being traumatized by a low quality product which is insane for how much two of these cost. Overall I’m disappointed. This includes making sure that the gps signal was strong, and everything was set up correctly.Additionally, I bought the beacon and that works less than 25% of the time in the zone it is placed in. It’s atrocious. ... show more
