Our beagle had become an expert at digging under our fence and taking off around the neighborhood. Every time he got out, we were worried something would happen to him. We finally decided to try the Halo Collar 5, and it has honestly been one of the best purchases we’ve made for our dog. The setup was much easier than I expected. The app walks you through each step, and the built-in training made it easy to understand what we needed to do. We were able to start training on the first day, and our beagle responded really well. The lessons are simple, clear, and don’t feel overwhelming. The collar itself is very well made. We chose the Ranger color, and it looks great on our beagle. It’s easy to adjust for the perfect fit, and the buckle makes it quick to put on and take off. Even though the material feels strong and durable, it also seems comfortable enough for him to wear all day. The biggest difference has been the peace of mind. Instead of constantly worrying that he’ll find another way out of the yard, we can let him enjoy being outside without the same level of stress. The virtual fence has worked really well for us, and I love that I can make changes right from the app without having to deal with wires. No product is completely hands-off, and I think it’s important to spend the time doing the training. That made all the difference for us. If you have a dog that’s an escape artist like our beagle, I definitely recommend the Halo Collar 5. It has made our lives easier, and more importantly, it’s helped keep our dog safe. ... show more

We live in the country on 5 acres and our dog was becoming us an escape artist she was hopping over fences going into other farms and we were worried that she was gonna get shot and we tried everything to keep her. I couldn’t leave her in the backyard unattended. Then we got the halo collar and it changed everything. I was so frustrated. I was actually thinking about taking her back to the rescue, but since we got the halo, it’s changed her life in our lives for the better. She’s well behaved now she responds to the warnings. I really wanted to like this collar because the features sounded perfect. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it at all. The biggest problem is that I can’t even get the app to open. It constantly tells me I have a poor internet connection, even though I’ve tested my Wi-Fi multiple times, switched to the required 2.4 GHz network, and confirmed my internet is working fine. No matter what I try, the app still won’t work. Because of that, the collar has been basically useless. My dog has already gotten out twice, and I’ve had to go searching for her myself because I couldn’t rely on the tracking features that were the main reason I bought this product. That’s incredibly frustrating and honestly scary when your pet’s safety is on the line. I also tried contacting customer support, only to be met with an estimated 288-minute wait time. That’s almost five hours just to speak with someone about a product that isn’t functioning as advertised. When you’re buying a GPS collar and wireless fence, reliability is everything. If the app won’t even open, none of the advertised features matter. I don’t feel comfortable trusting this collar to keep my dog safe, even in my own yard. One star. If zero stars were an option, that’s what I would give it. I can’t believe I spent this much money on a product that doesn’t even work. ... show more

we had an underground fence that lasted for years but then it got a break. Good luck finding and repairing the break. So we researched and landed on this collar. Absolutely love it and we have a very wooded yard. We have a belligerent Boxer that does pretty much whatever she wants. This collar has great warnings and sounds to guide her back and keep her safely in our yard. Collar is expensive but if you compare to time and money you spend on alternatives, this is worth it ... show more

Great collars, not good in rural areas rarely get alerts unless connected to wifi. Call signal Is poor in my area once dog leaves wifi area no alerts unfortunately. Have troubleshooting done many times with customer service they are responsive but just not good with poor cell service

Coming back on here after having and using this collar for about 2 months. We have it on our 9 month old lab dog, she was bred to be a duck hunting dog in her future. Plus having a 1-year old child starting to walk. I am very pleased with this purchase as it has helped with a lot of anxiety and stress when living close the road and with a busy baby. We also have a specific layout of barns. We wanted a collar system that allowed us the create a specific outline, which is did. I would recommend about a week of training with your dog, walking them around on the leash with collar, getting them familiar with the border and sounds. Battery life seems functional for the day. We then charge the collar each night while she is in her pen. It is adjustable to any size. There have only been a few instances where the collar may beep/vibrate when our dog went near the border but then came back. It seems like there may be a slight delay in the GPS reading at times which caused it to beep while she was back sitting in the safe zone. I also had an instance where we had construction workers on our road, our dog crossed the outline multiple times and seemed unaware of the vibrations/shocks. I do think that was because she is a 9-month old lab puppy, she is going to be pretty high energy for the next 5 years. We did purchase this collar and the yearly subscription price that comes with it, but to me it was worth creating our specific fence and providing me with a safe assurance while I’m inside or outside with my baby. The Halo Collars have been such a great choice for our dogs! We have multiple dogs of different sizes, and I love that the collars are adjustable enough to accommodate them from puppyhood through their senior years. One of my favorite features is being able to control the collar right from my phone using Bluetooth. The GPS tracking and geofencing features make it so convenient, you can use the app to see where your dog is, even when you can’t physically see them. It also gives you the ability to communicate with and correct your dog with just one touch on your phone.     • Bought new, got used! Disappointed

I ordered a new collar and I was sent a used item that was attached to someone else’s account. I had to contact customer service to get it removed from that account so I could add it to mine. It had dog hair on it and was already assembled. When I charged it fully, battery life says 36 hours. My other collar charged fully says 48hrs. I am disappointed that paying that much for a NEW collar, it shows up used and I am told by customer service that it may just be refurbished?!? It doesn’t pick up signal as well as my other Halo collar either. ... show more
