  • Works as described.
Perfect shape for a hallway. Fountain effect helps make my cats drink more & sometimes wait to turn back on after maintenance breaks & nighttime. Next model give more room from top dish for cat to drink in bottom reservoir.

  • Perfect for multiple cats
This is the second of this fountain that we’ve purchased. The only reasons for getting a new one are that the pump died after a power outage, and there was build up on the walls from hard water. It was cheaper to buy a whole new unit, rather than just the pump. We’ve been using this model for at least six years, and for the past three years we’ve had six cats. They love it. It’s fairly easy to clean, and the new style pump has a tab which makes the cap easier to remove for cleaning the inside of it. Between cleanings and filter changes I use a small brush to remove cat hair that will build up in front of where the water goes through the filter.m ... show more

  • Cat approved
Holds a good amount of water. Pros it’s quite with a good height for cats. Cons not the easiest to clean and make a lot of noise when it’s low on water.

  • Quiet and easy to maintain.
This product review is for the item listed as “PetSafe Drinkwell Multi-Tier Cat and Dog Water Fountain - Automatic Drinking Fountain for Pets - 100 Oz. Water Capacity (PWW00-13708), Grey” Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056ASTES/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 UPDATE: Almost exactly a year to the day we ordered this product, the pump burned out. Other than that, it's been a really good buy. We’ve had this pet fountain for about a month now. I read a number of reviews before making the purchase, and this fountain seem to have the least amount of negative feedback. I felt kind of like I was purchasing something that was going to come with inherent problems, but this product had the fewest inherent problems of all of the fountains about which I read. It seems we’ve been fortunate. Both cats and dogs enjoy the fountain. It runs fairly quiet until the water gets low or the structure filter becomes clogged (not the inserted filter—pictures attached). Even under those conditions the unit doesn’t become loud. The noise of the small pump just becomes more noticeable. Simply refill the fountain or clean it as necessary. We purchased this cleaning kit: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NHWMGU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I haven’t used the cleaning kit. I take the unit apart about once per week, rinse it out and wipe it down with a paper towel. I haven’t found any fungus or sludge, as others have reported. I feel like this is an important step though, because I can see the potential for algae should the fountain go overlong before being cleaned. The unit only has three pieces really (i.e., top structure, bottom structure and inserted filter). It’s important to be careful while pulling the fountain apart for cleaning, as the pieces are made of a thin-ish, brittle plastic that could crack or break with moderate pulling force (or impact with the floor). It’s easy to pull apart, as there are only two connection points between the top and bottom sections. Also, the filters need rinsed. I plan to change the charcoal filter once per month. We purchased these filters: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W73M10/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Important note: it’s a good idea to place this unit on top of a plastic mat or similar. Water sloshes over the sides fairly easily. Also, I haven’t found it yet, but there seems to be a place in the back where water might be leaking through a joint. I could be wrong, but there seems to be a little water under the back-rear when I pick it up. Overall, I rate this fountain at four stars. It does the job and it’s easy to maintain. I took off a star, because the brittle plastic, the lack of seal between the top and bottom, and the quality of the pump. Having experience with similar products I can tell the pump won’t last long. ... show more

  • Small but good design
We bought the PetSafe Stainless 360 water fountain 2 1/2 years ago for our first Maine Coon kitten, Floki. It was a hit but over time it was cumbersome to clean and putting it back together, and after the first couple of cleanings it never would push the water out of the top without me taking it apart at least one more time, usually took two or three tries. I liked that it was stainless but when full of water it was also heavy to move around. So, nice fountain but had it's flaws for us. Next we added Jax, Floki's Maine Coon brother from another littler and that boy is a real water cat! They both love drinking water which is great for their health, and they like to play with it, but Jax really makes an art out it. After watching the way they drink when in the tub and sink and how they tried to use the stainless fountain I realized that what they really liked best was a) a steady flow of water, and b) moving water that was easy to drink and put paws in. The stainless 360 fountain stream that came out of the pillar in the center degraded over time and even when freshly cleaned wasn't a good flow. I came across this Multi Tier found from PetSafe the other day and I thought, ok, this look more like what my cats really want. I debated because it's smaller and I had it in my mind that big cats need a big fountain. When I unpacked it this morning I was shocked at the small box the fountain itself was in and when I took it out I thought, oh, this really is small. Yes, I saw the dimensions online but that doesn't always give me a real idea of a thing. The Coons were instantly interested though, up on the kitchen island investigating the new fountain. Good sign. Getting the main part off in order to clean the pump and put the filter in wasn't easy but eventually it did come loose. The base is small enough that getting both hands in there as shown in the picture instruction didn't make it easy to really grasp ahold of the part that was to lift off, but I got that done, cleaned the pump, washed the fountain, put back together with the filter in place, filled with water and set on the floor mat. The Coons were at it instantly. This fountain design is, IMO, superior to the 360. It has a water well on the second tier and that water moves so the cats can sit there and drink from it or wash paws or play or whatever. The stream of water is just the overflow from that well, nothing to inhibit it so it's a nice steady stream, like having the bathroom faucet running on medium. So there's a good water sound too which cats love. The base well has moving water in it too because the stream flows into it. Jax, younger brother, likes to lay next to the fountain and drink from the base well. Then he sits up and licks the stream, and then he drinks from the second tier well. With the 360 they didn't spend much time trying to drink from the base. So even though this new fountain is quite a bit smaller, the amount of water it holds (100oz) is substantial (the 360 holds 128oz). It's lighter weight, and just being smaller it's easier to handle/move/clean. Not so many parts to finagle back together after cleaning either. Only time will tell how well it holds up and whether we continue to have that nice stream of water but it's a simple enough design that I think it should do pretty well. I may get a second one for another spot because a certain water cat likes to hog the fountain and his big brother might like a second option :) For now, I much prefer this smaller, better-designed fountain over the Stainless 360 though I'll keep that one and maybe set it up on the porch without the fountain head so that they can drink out of the top of the column when they are enjoying the fresh air. ... show more

  • Flawed filter design
The filter is hard to get in all the way because there are raised edges on the bottom of the fountain. This means there is a gap between the filter and the floor. The water doesn't filter efficiently and gets gross and milky within a week. I had to handwash this every couple of days to prevent build up. Dishwasher does not remove the grime. On a positive note this has huge storage and was great for when I went on vacation. My cat did use this fountain frequently despite the problems. But you can get a stainless steel fountain for a similar price and better filter mechanism. ... show more
