  • Good little heater
Pattern Name: Temp Control- 11.81''x15.74''
This is a good little heater. It's helped me keep my flock warm during cold snaps and even helped keep little chicks warm (with additional heat source) Easy to just wipe the surface clean with a wet wipe or damp cloth. Doesn't get so hot that it presents a fire hazard which is great, and produces just enough ambient heat that it can stave off the brisk temps in smaller insulated areas. However, if you leave it on non-stop like I did it will seemingly lose some of its efficacy. The maximum heat output dwindles with constant use. My first year I ran it practically all winter. By the end of winter I could tell the max heat output was not what it was out of the box. Now I use it more sparingly and as a secondary supplemental heat source but it still works great. ... show more

  • Purchased Dec 2020 and still loving it
Pattern Name: Temp Control- 11.81''x15.74''
Bought to heat my 8x5 coop, it does great. On 35 degree nights we turn the control half up the chickens and ducks are perfect in the morning. Many reviews say it doesn't get warm or hot. This is made to radiate heat off of the front plate, give it time to warm up, just a few minutes, and it will radiate heat. This gives heat safely for the elements it is around such as hay, shavings and wood. I love mine so much that I am ordering another one today for my pig. ... show more

  • Worth the money!
Pattern Name: Temp Control- 11.81''x15.74''
New at hatching chickens & this was a quick purchase, scrambling last minute when the 1st one hatched...and yes they are in my bathtub! This heater has worked good & does everything it claimed. Seems solidly built. I ended up placing it on a metal rack so chicks could go under it instead of stand close to it. I feel this is better for heat distribution for all the chicks, some heathers have that option with their stands, this one doesn't. There is a dial to turn up & down the heat, which is needed as the chicks grow & you ween them out into the world; Only downfall is there is no way to tell the temperature without another device. If it were perfect it would display current temperature somehow & the dial to turn heat up or down would have a way to give you an idea of temperature your setting it at. Overall a good product & worth the cost, I defiantly don't regret the purchase. I'm picky & I want all the bells & whistles, when I buy more for my Venue/hobby farm I'll be looking for ones with more features. If you're looking for perfect with all the features, keep looking. If you're looking for basic, solid, & works good at a fair price- this is it. ... show more

  • This heater is terrific for pets
Pattern Name: Temp Control- 11.81''x15.74''
We got this heater for our dogs insulated house to keep him warm in the coldest winter weather. He was a farm dog before his owner decided to get rid of him so he likes the outdoors. When the temps started getting in the single digits we looked into doghouse heaters then chicken coup heaters. We have a thermometer to keep track of the temp in his house, and after installing this in his 4x6 house it was put at highest temp and it doubled the temp in his house within an hour then tripled the temp by morning. He's nice and toasty. ... show more

  • Doesn’t produce any heat. Waste of money.
Pattern Name: Remote Control- 30''x12'' Foldable
Bought this to add a little heat to my chicken coop. Plugged it in in my living room to try it out. It’s been on the highest level for an hour now and even standing right up next to it there’s basically no heat output at all. It’s 2 degrees outside and if this can’t produce heat inside where it’s almost 70, there’s no way it’ll make any difference in the barn. Feel like this was a complete waste of money. ... show more

  • Needs Improvement
Pattern Name: Temp Control- 11.81''x15.74''
It does work. It's super easy to install. That being said: #1) it needs a dial that you can tell how high you are turning it... 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. This unit simply has a dial that clicks when you turn it on and you have no idea how high your turning it or how hot it will get/is getting. #2) needs to have some sort of readout on the "screen" as to the temp it's firing at. Again, no way to tell what you're doing. I hooked this to one of those OUTLETS that turns on at 32 and off at 45 so as not to overheat the coop. Good concept. Safer than a heat lamp. Needs some imporvement to be a 5 star product. I gave it 3 because I needd to buy another device to control it. ... show more

  • For outdoor cats too
Pattern Name: Temp Control- 11.81''x15.74''
For the last few years, I’ve used a heat pad only to keep my outdoor cat warm in the winter. I never felt it was warm enough when temps dipped into the teens, so this year I bought this chicken warmer and hung it on the cathouse wall. What a difference. It’s been extremely cold this year but the cat’s house is warm inside. She’s warm to the touch after jumping out of the house so I no longer worry if it’s too cold, even when temps dip into single digits. ... show more
