  • The rainbow of colors in this mixture will add the perfect touch to your garden this spring! 18"-20" Tall Blooms mid spring 12/+ cm Zone 2-8 Exercise caution and use your best judgment before ordering during unusually hot or cold weather (below 32 degrees F, or in excess of 95F for shipping purposes), as these extremes may leave your plant vulnerable to damage.

Description

Triumph: Medium height and mid-season blooming in a large selection of colors, make these tulips one of the most popular varieties. They have a strong stem which holds up well under windy conditions. Their height makes them an excellent choice for indoor forcing as well as cut flowers. When to plant your tulip bulbs for a colorful garden next spring: Plant bulbs from October to December; Tulip bulbs can actually be planted up until Christmas and still flower perfectly well in the following spring because they only need a short season of growth.

  • Initial impressions are good!
Will update this in the spring once the blooms begin, so consider these first impressions until then. Bulb quality was good throughout the batch. Of the roughly 100 delivered, no more than 3-4 had soft spots or seemed otherwise less than top quality (and even in those cases, we're not talking about full-on rot or mold). Most were a healthy, robust size, with about 5-8 noticeably smaller than the rest. A fie ratio, in my opinion, and even those smaller bulbs looked viable to me. Mother Nature is tough! The how to grow tag was a useful starting place, though most users will want to visit some credible websites to ensure they fully know the best way to plant. For this price, planting by bulb is much more economical than buying grown tulips from your local nursery. Granted, there is no way to predict the colors, so you won't be able to carefully define your color scheme, but if you're like me and prefer to let Mother Nature take control anyway, that's not a big deal. I typically plant marigold in the portion of the yard where these tulips went, but happily, marigold and tulips are fine companion plants, so I will be experimenting with interplanting marigold between the tulip sprouts come late spring. Will update this when they begin to germinate. For now, this was a nice, healthy batch of bulbs! ... show more

  • Good, heavy bulbs
As someone who has worked in a plant nursery, and a gardener, these are some good bulbs. Not only are almost all of them smooth (without the skin), but they are heavy. You want heavy bulbs. They are less dehydrated. These are also a larger sized bulb, so likely will bloom next spring. Some of these are going in planters, 2 layers, once I increase the drainage of those containers. That way, I can move them where I want them come spring, since I may not have time to plant them this fall. The mesh bag they were in was torn in two spots, so some of the bulbs fell out into the bag, but all were ok. Most of the outer skins had fallen off, so they don't have that protection any more. Tip - if you want them to come back each year, don't plant them in a spot that you water all summer. They don't like being that wet, and will rot. Also, don't cut the leaves off when the flower is gone - they need them to store up energy for next year. ... show more

  • Can't wait to see these in bloom!
I am absolutely thrilled with this vibrant spring flower mixture—it truly deserves a glowing 5-star review! The rainbow of colors in this blend brought a stunning burst of life to my garden, creating a cheerful and eye-catching display that instantly elevated my outdoor space. The blooms reached a lovely height of 18 to 20 inches, just as described, and started flowering right on time in mid-spring, filling my yard with color and charm. I appreciated the clear guidance on planting zones (2–8), which helped me feel confident about their compatibility with my climate. The bulbs were a generous 12/+ cm size, and they arrived in excellent condition thanks to the thoughtful shipping instructions—it's great that they advise caution during extreme temperatures to protect the plants. Every bloom felt like a celebration of the season, and the variety made it easy to create a dynamic, layered look in my garden beds. If you're looking to add a splash of color and joy to your spring landscape, this mixture is a must-have. I’ll definitely be ordering again next season! ... show more

  • Huge heavy bag of bulbs
This is a huge bag of large mixed color tulip bulbs. They all arrived in good condition, firm and with slight moisture in the bag. Some of the bulbs were huge, others smaller and only a few seemed slightly soft but probably just needed to hydrate. There were no bad ones. Upon planting, I counted 104, so I appreciate the 100 plus 4 extra to make up for any losses. I live in zone 6b WV and late October is the perfect time to start planting fall bulbs. I planted all of these just three days ago in-between the trees in the middle row of my small fruit tree orchard. That made it about 34 bulbs between each tree. Then I heavily mulched. While I give the quality of these bulbs a good rating now as these are my first tulip bulbs I planted, I look forward to spring to see how these do if/when they come up and see what kinds of colors I get. At ordering, these were priced at $60 for 100 and now they are $50, so I am a bit disappointed by that, but I suppose they are still a decent price at a little over 50 cents per bulb. ... show more

  • This is a HUGE, 100 count, 6.4 pound bag of the fattest, healthiest tulip bulbs I’ve ever seen!
I’ve never gotten to grow my own tulips before! I’m so excited to see these bloom in the spring! But I have to protect them if I want to see them bloom. Not only do I have an oak tree and many squirrels on the property, (which I heard eat flower bulbs), but I have A LARGE population of voles, and they *definitely* eat flower bulbs! I may plant some of these in very large pots, but I will also plant some in areas of my garden, surrounded by 1/4” hardware cloth buried with them. I hope that will be enough to protect them! I’ve also heard voles hate burrowing through sharp stones, and to bury a several inch band of stones around a flower patch. I don’t know if that will be enough because we also have moles, and voles happily use mole tunnels. I will try multiple methods to attempt to have my own tulips come up in the spring! I will update my review after the spring bloom to discuss the varieties and colors included, plant vigor,(from the look of the bulbs, I can’t imagine that it’s -*anything* but excellent!) and what I did to try and protect them. Happy Gardening!! ... show more

  • Different
Received a large net bag with the bulbs and directions on how to plant. Each bulb is approximately 2" diameter or a little smaller. Directions say plant in fall and wait until spring. Will not know color or value for at least 5 months now.
