I installed this in a 2010 bmw 3 series that already had idrive. In the end i got it working. Took 2 days and mutiple tries of hooking things up and unhooking because it would stop working randomly or I got the cords too tangled to reach. Let's get thus out the way early, this is not worth the money it costs. But one on alibaba, since most hook in the same way. You will save hundreds and will have the same quality. I didn't realize this required aux for audio. Zero instructions on how to use the included mic for testing. None of the instructions mention aux required. When I install this, it starts playing music that's stored in my car, but I can't access the files. So it just keeps playing. I can control the media using the steering wheel or idrive. Just can't see it on screen. The screen shows android ui stuff, but car is doing its own thing in the background. My first test was bad, I couldn't get idrive controls to work, no sound, no ability to pull up oem menu. Even after changing the factory settings several times. I had to Uninstal, reset my music to play from cd and not internal, reinstall. Eventually I got the idrive controls to work with it. Everything has to be plugged beyond all the way in or it will spazz. Also it randomly turns off every few minutes. I think the tight fit is causing the chords to get smashed so I think something came loose in the process of trying to get everything to fit. The flax shield didn't fit and I have gaps where you can see everything behind screen since it doesn't fill in the space. I would say it does not fully fit in my car, but I forced it to fit. The brackets place this too close to the dash cover and the first set of trim. I had to remove the screen to get the trim to fit. Then the screen wouldn't go back in place without me having to push really hard against the screen as well as the sides when screwing I'm. Seeing how the screen shorts out every 10 minutes or so, Im sure I will have to take this out and reinstall. Which I am not looking forward to. The backup camera doesn't seem to display, but the front facing does. Ordering a new backup cam to see if that helps or naw. ... show more
