I had what was probably an earlier model of this heater. It is very simple in design. It has an automatic shut off, which is awesome. You just turn the right button on high and then the left one you turn it all the way up and then bring it back and when it reaches a certain temperature, it will shut off and then it will cycle on and off. I would say around 12 o’clock is about 73. You have to learn where you want the temperature. If you wanted it a little bit hotter, you would turn it back to about 2 o’clock. It will heat up an entire large room quickly. They don’t have these in the stores that I have found so I did try to buy another brand. I bought a lasko and that one was terrible. I searched online for one like I had and I’m so glad I found this. I had my other one for years. At least 10. I’m going to buy another one for my son. ... show more

My Pelonis PTH15A2BGB does an excellent job for such a small heater. It's quiet, oscillates, and heats very well - even on the low settings. The thermostat dial works just fine. The COMPLAINTS here about burnt or melting plastic and/or fires are from people who don't know basics such as - DO NOT plug a space heater INTO A SURGE PROTECTOR or extension cord unless you're trying to start a fire. Plug it into a bare normal wall outlet, preferable alone without additional products! I know it's mighty inconvenient to actually READ THE MANUAL, but ignorance is not advised when it comes to electrical products. At least take a look at the 1st page of warnings! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! The first one I got quit working after about a week. I returned and replaced. The second one quit working after about a week I started the return process. Then after a few days tried it again and guess what it is now working just fine. I plan to keep it as a back up for the heater I got at a brick and morter store. ... show more

If you need a fairly basic heater, I highly recommend this one. Read on to see why. 1) I can run it on low and it heats a small-ish living space fairly quickly. No need to run up the electric bill to avoid frost vote! 2) Its shape is pretty great. It's small but not squat, so it's tall enough to spew glorious heat into the air without being a giant towering monster. 3) The sorcerers who invented this have been able to create a shape that avoids tip-overs by a herd of dogs playing so rough they're two seconds away from needing time-outs. Seriously, my dogs can't knock this over. Major win. Now for the "negative," which means things I don't care about but others might. 1) The controls are basic. They're knobs (so manual), there is no remote, and there isn't a temperature display so you have no idea what you're setting the temperature to. Do I care? No. I get up to turn it on or off and adjust the temperature to whatever feels warm. It's easy. 2) No timer. I don't care about that because I turn it on when I want to and then off...when I want to. Again, it's easy. So the pros are many and the cons are only for people who aren't like me. If you are like me, buy this. And enjoy the simple, upright-remaining warmth it provides. ... show more
