I have used it once (today actually) and I found that the temperature setting doesn’t actually align with the ambient temp in he chamber. I’m going to give it a few opportunities to adjust as I make sure it’s not user error. In the long run, as long as I can know that if I’m calling for 300, it’s giving me an ambient temp between 225 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit, I can work with that.

Got this a few days ago and threw some burgers and chicken on it. The cooking surface is legit smaller than I expected but it fits enough for like 4, 6 people without being ridiculous. I can fit a couple steaks and some veggies at the same time without crowding things too much. The heat distribution seems pretty even across the grill. I didn't get those weird hot spots where one side cooks way faster than the other. The dual vents let me adjust the temperature pretty easily by opening or closing them. Took a bit to figure out the sweet spot but once I got it dialed in the food cooked consistently. The locking lid actually seals pretty tight. You can feel it click into place with all three points and it stays locked when you're moving it around. That matters because I needed to carry this thing from my garage to the backyard and I didn't want the lid flipping open and dumping charcoal everywhere. Portability is solid. It's light enough that I can grab it with one hand if I need to, though two hands is more comfortable. The compact size means it doesn't take up much space in my garage or on the patio when I'm not using it. Fits in my truck bed easy. Cleanup is straightforward because of the ash catcher underneath. Most of the ash falls through into the tray instead of all over the ground. You still get some mess but way less than I was worried about. Just dump the tray into a bag and you're done. It's a solid little grill for what it is. Nothing fancy but it does the job for casual backyard stuff.

Smoking meats has become a bit of a hobby of mine lately, and I wanted to try something different than just laying things flat on a rack. That is why the hanging hooks in this smoker caught my eye. I spent some time yesterday hanging up some sausages and some ribs to see how the flavor would differ. It is a really cool feature that I did not have on my old setup. The smoke seems to wrap around the meat perfectly when it is hanging, giving it a really nice color and a very deep flavor. I had some things on the racks and some things hanging at the top, and it all fit without a problem. The LED display is also very handy for keeping track of the heat while I am working on other things in the yard. It is bright enough to see from a distance, so I do not have to keep walking over to check it. I am also very happy with the cover that came in the box. It fits well and feels like it will hold up against the wind. I have had other smokers where I had to buy a cover separately, and they never fit quite right, so this was a nice bonus. The whole unit feels very well thought out. I like how the wood pellets feed into the system; it is very smooth and I have not had any issues with it getting jammed. It seems like a very dependable machine for long smoking sessions. I am already thinking about what else I can hang up in there next time. Maybe some specialty meats or even some peppers.
