  • Easy to Assemble
I looked at a lot of different ones and found this one to be the most reasonably priced, with great quality.

  • It's more roomy than other coops sized for 4 to 6 chickens
I like its sturdiness, and the length of the run, however I dislike that at least part of the run is not covered (I added a tarp cover and fashioned a frame for it from some scrap wood). I don't like that if the slide out tray is pulled out, my birds escape. So I flipped it on its side and added hardware cloth below the slide out tray. The tray is difficult to slide in and out and is cheaply made. Not likely to last super long without having to figure out a fix. I'm working on figuring out that fix. The closures for the removable back don't stay on. I've had to move them several times. Water leaks into the nest box areas where they meet the house. I purchased some thick clear vinyl and added a barrier to keep the nest boxes dry. The coop door doesn't have any latches to keep the door closed, although it stays closed as long as nothing tries to open it. The pen itself is not very secure. I added hardware cloth to the outside and sunk it 1 foot into the ground to keep critters out. The ground stakes don't stay in very well, so I bought anchors to keep it firmly on the ground. It's not been outside more than 2 months yet and the latches on the run are already rusted. I've wire brushed them, primed and painted them. The paint on the coop is more of a watered down paint wash, but it didn't match in color to my other coops so I was planning to paint it anyway. I painted before assembling. Instructions were fairly easy to understand. I assembled myself in about an hour, and I'm not much of a builder, but it was pretty simple. Other than being a little flimsy, the run itself feels more secure after making the adjustments. For the money, this coop is worth the investment. It's affordable, leaving funds to make the "upgrades" as necessary. It was actually nicer than I expected based on reviews, and I have always reinforced my bird coops to keep my birds safer. I did leave the nest box dividers out because I'm housing ducks in this coop and I wanted them to have a little more room, and in the past, I've never had a duck actually lay eggs in the nest boxes. I will be lining with pine shavings or straw when they do start laying eggs. Without the dividers, there is plenty of room in there. My ducks in the past have always slept outside in their run, but this group does sleep in their house. I close them in at night and I have to fight them to get them into the run, as they have to step over a ledge to get in, but they do enter their house on their own. They even sit in there during the day pretty often, so it's safe to say they are happy with it. Oh...one more thing. The door to the run needs 2 hands to open it and is not very secure. I have 2 carabiners to keep it closed...one on the door and the other next to the door. I'm working on a one handed operation of the door, which I think I can accomplish with a metal clothes hanger. I also don't like the string open for the coop door. I have to reach into the run and slide it down. It does pull it up properly. It worked fine before I painted it, so probably due to the paint. I plan to change that to something else as well. I'm always working to improve the coops I have to help them last longer. I love the roof although a large animal could go right through it I think. But an animal that could would likely be able to get through any coop roof that I have. It's fairly easy to clean. About equal to all my other coops. The poles that hold the nest box roofs up are not very good. They don't lock and just props them open somewhat. If you bump it, the top falls. I don't use them anymore, I hold it up with one hand and use the other to clean out the nest box area. ... show more

  • Crap
Definitely not worth the price. This coop is very chincy. Within the first week, the door was stuck shut. I finally was able to open it with prying it. Then had to force it closed. When I contacted support it was either send it back or $35 refund. Lmao ridiculous!!! Don't buy this product!!!!

  • Close to being good.
The coop is rather easy to assemble. Most of the pieces fit snug (some didn't). I was only missing 1 piece. I was able to rig it with something I had laying around. You will definitely need to add hardware cloth to make this safe from predators. There are many weak areas that predators can access without much effort. I will be building another on my own and will probably use this for chicks or ducks in the future. I feel this unit is overpriced for what you get. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed.
It's a very good product. Easy to build. The size is perfect for 4 chickens. It's not the best on the market but for that price I think is really good. Recommended.

  • Missing and broken
Many pieces are missing, unless there is a second box we did not receive. The parts are chipped and very cheaply made
