I used to use Generic freeze and shine from Sallys. It says it’s comparable to Paul Mitchell. I loved generic, the hold was amazing, but it was hard for my to run my fingers through my hair. (Easy to put too much on because it’s a spray) but I learned how to use it without making it overly crunchy. I decided I wanted to try the real thing, purchased this and fell in love. I have naturally curly and very frizzy hair, not much helps the frizz for more than an hour or so. This hairspray smells amazing, isn’t overly crunchy or stiff. I feel like the generic brand has more of a crunchy element to this, but this is softer and smells waaaaay better. Also makes your hair so shiny. I have used this hairspray for over 30 years. My very favorite of all time. Holds well without heaviness and brushes out. The spray does get clogged every now and the. Especially on the larger size. I have found taking the entire top off and running under hot water inside the cap and the black sprayer will dissolve the build up and it will work fine ... show more

I’ve been using PM for 25-30 years. It’s just getting harder to find since many stores closed nearby after COVID. I bought some at a drug store during COVID- which always was advertised the company doesn’t do and could not be guaranteed by PM. We did what we had to at the time! Anyway, this product does not apply like what I was used to, it goes on heavy wet, and this does not stay like what I was used to! But compared to same as drugstore product, da same!
