I lost the bottom connector pieces to the factory crossbars and bought these as replacements. Overall very satisfied, they were sturdy and connected well. We drove 400 miles with two snowboards and a set of skis up there, tied down securely, and it went really well. I give 4 stars because the directions are a little wonky, even though these are easy to figure out and install. In the directions the end connector pieces are already connected to the crossbar pieces. That would've made the hour long installation a good bit shorter. First of all, a lot of photos in these reviews show completely different crossbars, so I don’t know what that is all about. I bought these for my 2014 Crosstrek. They are fairly sturdy, but are not a perfect fit. The front bar in particular is having some difficulty. Instructions are lacking, and my bars/clamps did not come with any arrow imprints or anything to indicate which part goes where. Thankfully the bars are obvious; one short and one long, long is front and instructions tell you that, but the instructions also rely on those arrow imprints. I am still left guessing if the clamps are on their proper crossbar, or if it makes a difference. I have removed and replaced them twice, and it appears this is the closest fit. I am seriously considering if I want to return and get a more trusted, better fitting product. If you are trying to tighten these to get rid of any gaps similar to my photos, careful how far you tighten. You can strip the Allen screw heads. There is a review that these dropped a kayak on the road, and while they feel pretty sturdy now, that’s a serious issue that could really hurt someone on the road, not to mention your belongings. Initially appears to be good quality, but the supplied hardware doesn't fit. The bolts to connect the cross pieces with the end caps are too short - they do not protrude past where the nuts are supposed to connect. I had to buy longer cap screws to reach the nuts (16 mm are too short, need 25 mm length to engage the nuts). Will edit and add once I get a chance to actually install the rack. UPDATE: After mfg contacted me, I found out I was installing them incorrectly. The hardware supplied was correct. However, they were still quite difficult to engage the mounting hardware with the factory installed mounting hardware. It took a lot of playing and struggling to engage the bolts to the roof of my Kia Soul. ... show more

2015 Crosstrek. Installed them with the deflector to the front. By deflectors I mean the raised part on the underside by the double bolts. I believe these deflectors reduce the wind noise passing over the bolts. So after they are mounted the clamps settle perfect on the rails but if you look at it from the side it appears the bars are pitched upward toward the front of the vehicle. This might be to reduce vibration bc of the upward bowing. Just my thoughts. I recommend lock tight for the 8 bolts on the undersides. ... show more

Does the job, but had to find the perfect spot to get the cross bar ends to sit flush. Also, hex bolts used to tighten the bar ends stripped out really easy. Had to go buy new hardware.

Product is designed to generically for more models and uses a cheap plastic "jig" to make it work. Running all over town trying to find a replacement for all 4 my long bolts because they are so cheaply made 1 bolt stripped on the thread using the provided Allen wrench and on another bolt the Allen head stripped using the same poorly fitting Allen wrench provided. Lastly the provided bolts are not long enough to fit with both the rubber protectors and the plastic "adapters" that fit the rack contours on a kia soul 2017. If you spend money on this product, expect to spend more money and time going around town to find these odd m6 bolts. ... show more

I have a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek and they fit perfectly. I painted the hardware it came with to ensure it doesn’t rust but other than that, they’re nice and pretty sturdy.
