I bought this specifically to be able to maintenance drain my pool. The stated ratings seemed good but after actual use are grossly overstated. I have a small pool around 15k gal and it took nearly 24hours from start to finish. I used a garden hose which I expected to take longer than a discharge hose. And I didn’t have my hose going up any hills or slopes other than out of the pool. So at 4000gph this should have emptied my pool in 4-6 hours but no where close. This is the first small size sump pump I’ve bought. I’ve only ever used the large commercial size in the past but didn’t want to spend that much for a once in a blue moon maintenance project . So I’m giving this 2.5 stars due to the ratings being so far off. I’m not confident in how long this will last either. Seems fairly durable for the price but only time will tell on the motor ... show more

    • Good value, but poor quality. Misleading specs.
We selected this pump to remove water from our spa. We went with this unit for value and the specs seemed great. The pump worked, but at a much slower rate of flow than advertised. I noticed this as a common theme in other reviews. It took almost 24 hours to completely drain the spa. The pump also started rusting after day 1. I would not recommend this device and we have returned ours. We will seek something else that will last longer and provide the flow as advertised. ... show more

    • Broke after 1 month
I purchased this pump, because it wat stainless steel. Pump started making a loud winning noise after a month of on/off use. Apparently the internals are not stainless. Not a good pump to use in a backyard fountain.
