Description

This is no microwave, toaster oven or broiler…it’s a revolutionary new way to cook. Hugely popular in Asia and available in the US for the first time, the Panasonic HomeCHEF 7-in-1 Compact Oven uniquely uses the power of steam and convection cooking together so you can roast, bake, steam, slow cook, air fry and ferment your way to incredible meals, sides and desserts. With combination cooking, steam insures consistently juicy, tender melt-in-your-mouth insides while convection delivers perfectly brown, crispy outsides. What would normally require 2-3 different processes can now be done in 1…plus, the enclosed space means less nutrients escape than with stovetop cooking. The HomeCHEF 7-in-1 is large enough to fit a whole chicken or a dozen muffins, yet small enough to outperform a traditional oven in both accuracy and speed. The icing on the (deliciously baked) cake? With steam you can sanitize everything from utensils to baby bottles, plus prep the inside cavity for easy wipe-and- go cleanup.

  • Panasonic Home Chef
It works well for steaming which is my prime use for the product. And the steam-convection is outstanding. However, the tray that also holds the water container, which slides into the base of the oven, is prone to not connecting. It will seem like it's fitted properly, but pretty quickly the machine generates an error code and you find that all of the water that was in the container is now in the tray, and you have to start all over again. Otherwise, when it's working, it's excellent. ... show more

  • Water pump & waste water reservoir
We brought this mainly for the steam function. The manual said you can steam 60 minutes. However, the reality is that you need to add water every 10 minutes or so(or may be less). I found that the water pump from time to time will do a loud noise, and then it will pump all the water into the waste water reservoir in less than 10 minutes. So it is not very helpful to add water and clean out the waste water reservoir every 10 minutes or so. ... show more

  • Next Level
This oven is next level and has far exceeded my expectations. It is the best oven that I have ever used by far. It warms up fast and cooks evenly, far more evenly than any other oven I have tried. Also the temperature is actually accurate with this oven. The steam setting I was hesitant about at first but now I am using it non stop to both clean the oven as well as steam vegetables, they always come out perfect. It's way easier to clean than my old toaster oven which was a Cuisinart. It had large electronic coils, two on the bottom of the inside cavity and two on the top. The heat pierces into the food and cooks evenly better than any other oven I've tried including large gas ones. It's expensive but I honestly think it's worth it. This is all that I use now for cooking since it performs better than the giant gas oven I have. cons: -The water reservoir is made of plastic, I would of liked an all stainless steel steam system. -Bad at toasting -Bad for frozen pizzas, they should of made it an inch or two deeper -Lowest possible temp is 215f not 200 like most ovens -Max possible temp is 445f not 500 like most ovens -The accessories are expensive, It ended up costing me $150 total to purchase 2 extra metal trays with wire rack ... show more

  • Great All-In-One Kitchen Appliance, Use Ferment Setting for Bread Baking!
So far I've used the convection oven, air fry, and ferment settings. I was extremely surprised at how quickly the oven heats up but how it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen! Some of the settings you don't need to use the pre-heat option which I like better since I'm an impatient cook and I just like to throw something in without pre-heating. If you're a fan of pre-heat, the conv. bake and steam setting has both a pre-heat and cooking without pre-heat option as well. Overall, the oven is extremely versatile and caters to the different needs of who is cooking with it's varied settings, which is hard to find in an appliance. I used the ferment option for bread baking actually, since the ferment setting is low temperature, I was able to put the metal bowl I was setting my bread in and let it rise for 30 min in the perfect temperature! If you are a bread baker, this is an amazing tool to use! My bread came out perfectly and the ferment option sped up the bread baking process exponentially by letting the dough rise in an ideal temperature. After using ferment, I used conv. bake to finish the bread and they were done in less than 15 minutes. The oven itself is small, but with the two tiered trays, it's quite easy to make a larger serving of whatever you're making for the family. This oven will not give you 24 baked cookies in one go like a traditional oven, but it's great for small batch baking, meats, vegetables, breads, steaming frozen foods (like Chinese bao and dumplings), sanitizing utensils and baby bottles, and it even has it's own cleaning setting. This oven is a great find and It will be my staple appliance for the kitchen from now on. ... show more

  • Glad there is a HomeChef in the house!
We had come to the point in our kitchen where there really was not much space left on the counter for more appliances but were interested in trying the 7 in 1 Panasonic HomeChef because it offered so many cooking techniques from one piece of equipment. So far, we have just used three of the techniques Bake, Steam, and Air Fry, and are very happy with our purchase. The control panel is very easy to follow, guiding you through what needs to be entered in for the various cooking methods. I see why they call it the HomeChef because it takes some of the guess work out. Roasted sweet potatoes had become a family favorite but I must admit in the past they have sometimes come out a little burnt. Now with the HomeChef if I want to leave them in for three more minutes, I can dial that in. The timer beeps at the end of the time set. if I become distracted cooking something else or multi-tasking I am alerted and the roasted sweets are coming out a lot better. Loving the steam function. We had been using one of those steam baskets that you set in a saucepan on the stove. With the HomeChef’s steam rack the vegetables are more spread out and they seem to cook more evenly. Well gotta keep it real it has not all been about healthy, the Air Fry did a great job on a guilty pleasure (frozen mini corn dogs) …. but at least we did not heat up the whole kitchen throwing them in the oven. The HomeChef highly is recommended for those who want to do more with less! ... show more
