  • Good quality patio set
Awesome patio set. We put this set on our back porch and have used it daily since. The quality is solid and it is fairly easy to assemble. The cushions are comfortable and the pieces are sturdy. We bought clips to hold the sections together. We were surprised at how comfortable the cushions are and the low back support is just the right height. It's also very functional because you can arrange the individual pieces any way you want. It is sturdy and appears well made! This outdoor patio sofa collection is fantastic. It's really well-made and long-lasting! Iron is used to build the frame. The setup and assembly were simple, and the instructions were straightforward. The set's adaptability is amazing. You can use it as a love seat and chair or as a sectional, depending on your preferences and the room available. This outdoor sectional is created with high-quality PE rattan and a steel frame for added durability and longevity outdoors. The rattan is hand-woven to ensure that the product is entirely weather resistant To keep the sofa balanced, you can change the foot height using the leveler based on the ground condition. The leg will be raised if the leveler is loosed, and it will be lowered if the leveler is tightened. To shape the sectional, use six part 3 clamps to tie chairs and corner chairs together. Using two clamps in each section where the chairs meet. Velcro is used on the ottoman's seat cushion and one of the two corner seat cushions. Velcro can be used to bind the two. The sleek and nice modern look is really appealing. The price was significantly lower than other options we considered, and the value is unrivaled. It came in excellent condition. The pillows and cushions are extremely soft and comfortable. Overall, we are very pleased with this collection. Without a doubt, I would suggest it! True rattan, made from the natural fibers of a plant related to palm trees, is similar to cane or bamboo. It's used in decor and furnishings such as rugs and chairs. While rattan home accessories add a natural vibe to just about any environment, it does not hold up well in certain conditions. Synthetic polyethylene rattan, or "PE rattan," emulates the look of actual rattan, in man-made form. PE and Synthetic Rattans PE rattan withstands the outdoor elements outdoors, and it can handle humid or damp conditions, unlike natural rattan, which breaks down or becomes mildewed in wet environments. PE rattan is just one type of synthetic rattan; other types include PU (polyurethane) and PVC (polyvinyl chloride). PE rattan is recyclable, unlike these other synthetics, and it lasts longer than less expensive PVC rattan. PE rattan is designed to look like natural rattan, with some color variations throughout the material. Kinds of Rattan Rattan is a type of plant, most notably used for wicker-style furniture and home decor. This plant is flexible enough to bend into shapes or when torn into smaller fibers, it can be woven into items such as baskets and chair seats. Cane and reed are two parts or types of rattan used for different purposes. Man-made materials designed to emulate the look and versatility of this natural resource are referred to as synthetic rattan. Rattan, The Plant Related to the palm tree, rattan resembles a climbing vine and is native to parts of Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. It grows hundreds of feet tall while maintaining a consistent thickness of less than a few inches. With these desirable traits, the plant is cut into poles to be used for making furniture and decor. All parts of this vine, other than a thorny outer layer, are durable and flexible, making it a useful plant. Cane Rattan Cane refers to the rattan layer just beneath the thorny outer skin, which is removed before the cut rattan poles are stacked, cleaned, dried and smoked. After this processing, the cane layer is peeled and processed into long strands. It is used for weaving chair seats and backs due to its flexibility and durable nature, or as a wrapping material around portions of furniture frames, like rope. Cane has a natural shine to it and does not absorb stain well, which is why many cane chair backs and seats are left a natural color. Reed Rattan Reed is the inner, wood-like portion of the rattan plant, more fibrous and porous than the cane layer. Reed is absorbent and may be stained, unlike cane. Decorative embellishments on wicker furniture are often made from reed, such as the swirls and curls on some elaborate Victorian-era wicker furniture. Synthetic Rattan PE rattan, a synthetic material designed to look like real rattan, is used for outdoor furniture and decor. It's made from polyethylene, hence the PE in the name. PE rattan is able to withstand both moisture and intense sunlight, either of which could harm true rattan. While PE is not the only type of synthetic rattan, it is more eco-friendly and of better quality than other synthetics such as polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane, which are not recyclable. Synthetic rattan is sometimes called outdoor rattan or outdoor wicker. Safety of Using Resin Furniture Resin furniture often masquerades as wicker or offers a higher-end alternative to cheap plastic chairs and tables. Yet, concerns over the safety of resins may make you think before you purchase this type of outdoor furniture. But resin furniture is usually made of high-density polyethylene, a plastic that is not known to leach harmful chemicals, and doesn’t contain formaldehyde, unlike other types of resin. What Is Resin Furniture? Resin is typically used in outdoor patio and deck furniture, including faux-wicker, lawn chairs, tables and lounge chairs. Made of a solid polymer resin, this type of furniture is inexpensive when compared to wood and metal, impervious to moisture damage and tough under rough treatment, whether by young kids or strong summer storms. Because the dye is mixed into the mold, resin furniture never needs refinishing unless you want to change the color. Resin and Resin-Based The term resin has become synonymous with formaldehyde-laden adhesives, including urea-formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde. Although these are types of resin, they are not used in the making of plastic furniture. The confusion likely stems from medium-density fiberboard (MDF), a popular alternative to wood furniture and cabinetry, which is constructed of wood particles and formaldehyde adhesive resins. MDF emits a low level of formaldehyde for five years after construction, reducing air quality. Safety Issues Snapping, cracking and splitting, although rare, are the biggest safety issue with resin furniture. This is most common with imitation wicker; when the woven strands break, the resulting edge can be very sharp. Depending on the style of furniture, the cushions that come with resin chairs may contain formaldehyde, and if you’re sensitive to the low-level of toxic gases released from the furniture, the cushions may cause an allergic reaction. This is easily remedied by replacing them with formaldehyde-free alternatives. Benefits of Resin Furniture Resin offers an exceptional level of durability. You can leave it outdoors indefinitely and clean it easily with a power washer, hose or stiff brush and soap. While it can grow mold under the right circumstances, resin stands up well to household bleach. This is especially useful for faux-wicker style furniture; natural wicker proves difficult to thoroughly clean without causing damage, and the natural materials create a breeding ground for mold in damp conditions. Unlike wood and metal furniture, which have color and sealant applied over the base material, resin furniture is dyed when the plastic is still liquid, which carries the color through the entire piece. This means scratches or dings blend into the surrounding surface. Wicker attracts dust and dirt that stick within its weaves if you don't clean it on a regular basis. While not all wicker is made from the same material, many wicker items are made from natural plant fibers or paper, so a soak in water or a rinse with the hose are out of the question. Cleaning with mostly dry methods, or only a slight amount of dampness, is the best plan of attack for natural wicker fibers. Routine Dry-Method Maintenance Keeping the wicker dust-free -- whether it's a small basket or a large coffee table -- not only makes it look nice, but helps prevent caked-on dirt and debris that are much harder to remove. A feather duster offers a touch gentle enough to clean wicker without damage to the fibers. The upholstery brush on a vacuum cleaner helps remove debris from the crevices in the weaves; for a delicate basket or fragile antique, hold the vacuum hose away from the piece slightly, using a soft-bristled paintbrush or makeup brush to loosen dust. Moisture-Based Maintenance If the wicker seems dirty even after you've dusted, dip a soft cloth into a bucket of water with a squirt of dish soap mixed in. Wring out most of the water to avoid soaking the wicker, which may damage or warp the fibers. Wipe the entire piece down thoroughly, then wipe again with a fresh cloth dipped in clean water. Dry the piece off as thoroughly as possible, then allow it to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area. This is especially important for furniture, as sitting on dampened wicker made from natural materials may stretch the fibers and distort the shape. Mildew Control A musty smell, especially when paired with tiny specks on the wicker fibers, indicates mold or mildew, which happens when wicker is stored in a damp environment. A mixture of 1-part white vinegar with 3-parts water obliterates mold and mildew; dip a soft cloth into the solution, then wipe the spots down thoroughly. A toothbrush helps scrub away the most difficult spots. Wipe the newly cleaned areas down again with a damp cloth, then allow the wicker to air dry completely. Synthetic Outdoor Wicker Synthetic wicker, found on outdoor furniture and decor, is made from materials such as polyethylene or polyurethane. This type of wicker is able to withstand a squirt from the hose, so it can be cleaned a bit more vigorously than other wicker materials. After brushing with a feather duster or vacuuming, wipe the wicker down with a soft cloth dipped in a bucket of warm water with a few squirts of dish soap. Rinse with a hose, then dry with a soft cloth or towel. What is Natural Wicker, Synthetic-Wicker and Rattan Patio Furniture In the arena of wicker weave furniture, it’s very easy to confuse natural wicker, with synthetic resin wicker with rattan. Because these terms tend to be used interchangeably many of times specially wicker and rattan, it’s difficult to know what’s what. To clear up the confusion, let’s take a look at what each of these terms means: Wicker is a technique for weaving products out of cane-like materials. Rattan is a material that comes from climbing plants and that given it’s flexible sturdy consistency is weaved into furniture. Now, there are two types of wicker furniture: natural and synthetic. Both use weaving as the method of construction, but the final products vary greatly. Natural Wickers Natural wickers can be made out of rattan, willow, sea grass and raffia. It’s become very popular due to it’s elasticity and comfort and it’s potential for creativity. The different patterns offer a wide range of possible builds and the ability to color the natural hue of the wicker to give it different looks all add to it’s popularity. Although the look and feel of natural wicker may seem appealing, it is made to be enjoyed indoors and out of direct sunlight because of it’s susceptible to rain, sleet, snow, moisture, and other forms of inclement weather. Some companies do offer moisture and weather resistant coating to make natural wicker furniture more patio friendly. Synthetic Wickers (or Resin Wickers) Synthetic wicker is the most widely used type of wicker for patio furniture because of it’s durability against the elements. It’s made from resins that are extracted from plant material and harden permanently. There are many types of resin wickers: from PVC, nylon, polyethylene (PE) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Wicker. We recommend the HDPE because it’s made from a compound that is very dense so it’s extremely durable in all outdoor conditions. Other wicker materials like PVC may peel off and reveal a mismatched color after years of use. HDPE on the other hand is made with the same colored material throughout so there is no peeling or color mismatch. The Verdict Natural wicker will become dry and brittle over time. It will crack and cause the weave to unravel over time. Natural wicker can be subject to damage caused by insects and small pests. Natural wicker may fade in the sun and get wet during rain, being permeable may cause the fabric to give in, on the seating area. Natural wicker is best used indoors. Synthetic wicker is infused with UV Inhibitors that prevent fading in the sun. Synthetic wicker won’t break, chip, or scratch and it’s stain resistant. Synthetic wicker is easy to wash. Synthetic wicker is still less expensive than natural wicker. HDPE is 100% recyclable. Synthetic wicker can also be used indoors What is Resin wicker? Resin wicker is a man made synthetic wicker. If you’ve ever wondered if resin wicker and synthetic wicker are the same thing, the answer is yes! These terms are used interchangeably, But there are lots of different qualities being made & used for furniture. HDPE, or high density polyethylene, is the best quality material for synthetic wicker. When you see this material being used it is a sign that these are better quality resin wicker products. Also if HDPE is being used it is a reasonable assumption that the other materials and fabrics being used are also good quality. HDPE Resin wicker is nonporous and dyed all of the way through. It is loaded with ultraviolet light treatment so the color stays true and fresh for years to come. HDPE, which stands for High Density Polyethylene is a much stronger material with a higher level of tensile strength. Especially when woven in a very tight weave, it is incredibly difficulty to do damage to resin wicker furniture made of HDPE. Even better, HDPE is lighter and more resistant to sunlight. Wicker is a weaving process, not a material. So wicker can be anything that is woven and can be made a natural or synthetic material. Resin wicker versus natural wicker Natural wicker is made of rattan vine, a species of climbing plant that is grown in tropical zones of the Americas, as well as South East asia. We find the best quality rattan grows in Indonesia so that is where our partner factories are. Natural wicker is suitable for indoor furniture & very well covered outdoor areas and if made right will be quite comfortable and very elegant elegant, it will deteriorate very quickly when left outdoors as it is porous & will hold water. This is why synthetic wicker has grown in popularity for outdoor furniture. Being non porous any dirt will be on the outside of the wicker & can be easily cleaned. There are no pores for the dirt to settle in. Quality Aluminum Framed Synthetic wicker triumphs over natural wicker when it comes to outdoor furniture. Be careful of products made with steel Not only can they rust, but steel costs less than aluminum & may be sign that the furniture has lesser quality, less expensive materials being used everywhere. Outdoor Wicker Patio Furniture, Wicker Furniture Sets, Wicker Patio Sets... The size, color, and style of outdoor wicker patio furniture you’ve been looking for can be found here at Wicker... Here’s why resin wicker is a favorite: Lightweight and easy to move Comfortable and kid friendly Weather resistant Resistant to pool water and chlorine Available in lots of styles and colors The difference between HDPE and PVC As mentioned above, there can be large differences in the quality of resin wicker available on the market. One of the main differences is the type of material used in the wicker strands. PVC is a vinyl polymer that is often used to make plumbing pipes. It has a low production cost and so is used in cheaper wicker furniture. The downside to the lower price is that the material can be prone to damage, in terms of fading, scratching, denting, and tearing over time. Heavy gauge aluminum frames - Be sure to look out for aluminum (not steel) frames so that your furniture is resistant to rusting. It’s also a good idea to choose furniture that features heavy gauge aluminum frames so that the pieces are sturdy. Furniture frames that are raised off the ground - Your furniture will be outside, meaning there can mud, dirt, dust, or sand. It’s smart to find furniture that is raised a couple inches off the ground so that the frame is not sitting in the dirt. Little to no assembly - Not only is low or no assembly a factor convenience, it also has to do with longevity. When your furniture’s frame has been welded in the factory, that means it’s much stronger. If you have to piece it together at home, it could come apart just as easily. Choose items that are crafted and shipped whole. Made of HDPE - For resin wicker that is strong and durable, and not prone to cracking, fading, or peeling, you absolutely must choose HDPE, and don’t buy anything made of PVC. ... show more

  • I like it!
Perfect starter set! The fake wicker makes it more sturdy and less likely to crack with weather changes. The cushions are pretty firm. It only took a couple hours to fully put together. All pieces came on the same day in only 2 large boxes. My only complaint is I wish the cushions came up higher on the back. Very comfortable and perfect if you have kids! ... show more

  • Complete Patio.
That's just what I needed! It arrived super quickly, a week earlier than anticipated! The cushions are a little firm right now, but once we break it in, they should loosen up. I saw a suggestion to hold the cushions in place with a rubber rug cover, and I'm going to give it a shot! It would be nice if it came with a cover. It took me about 3 hours to complete. Once you've completed the first, the rest should be a breeze. For those who struggle with assembly, pictures speak louder than words; simply assess what goes where, pull out the screws, and so on with each stage to ensure you don't miss anything. You'll find your stride from there. The back is short and very comfortable, making this a nice value for money kit. The delivery was easy, consisting of two large boxes. ... show more
