I bought this for a family Christmas gift exchange in hopes my husband would pick this as his gift and maybe regift it to me since I have been wanting one but we couldn't pick our own gifts, well that didn't happen, my sister ended up with the cast iron. She kept bragging about how great it was that I ordered another one for myself and I also got it while it was $10 cheaper than the original price. Win win! I love this cast iron. I purchased this for my 85 year old mom who loves cooking with cast iron but has limited storage space in her condo. I thought this combo would be ideal for her. It is a nice pan/pot. Big enough to cook a small roast with veggies and other favorites. It’s not as heavy as some other cast iron cookware which is a plus. However, it does have to be seasoned. So due to that fact, it’s a bit more maintenance than I wanted for me mom. Going forward, I think I will stick with Lodge Cast Iron cookware. ... show more

I’m giving 5 stars though I’m having trouble cleaning due to rough surface. I have 2 much older cast iron fry pans and I cannot remember back 48 years ago when I got them as a new bride. Perhaps they have smoothed out over the years of use. I like this deeper pan for searing and the cover doubles as another pan so I really cannot complain too much. It just seems as if the coarse surface holds food residue and I have to really scour it to satisfy myself that it is clean. ... show more
