I purchased this aviary for a covey of 15 quails. The last one I had was similar, but with a pointed roof. Best built with two people, but one person could potentially do it alone depending on their height and fitness. This rounded roof model is easier to get around in, for clean up and bird handling, despite it being roughly the same measurements as the previous. Enough zip ties are included to complete the build. I had some extra left over that I used to secure gym flooring to the walls, to create shade, and an interior wind block/nesting area, and even tie up some plant stalks that were getting stomped on when I went in to clean. The door, once installed, swings both ways. The structure is sturdy enough for my needs, but the door could use a second latch at the bottom. I will need to instal one, because a predator could easily weasel it's way through by just pushing. I have blocked the door entirely to prevent this from happening in the mean time, but it's a pain to move the things every night. That, as well as the fencing being flimsy (I skipped the included chickenwire cloth entirely and installed my own hardware cloth walls) reduced the score to a 3 or 4 for me, functionally as is. However, for the price of the product, it is still a great value, so I will keep the 5 stars. I couldn't have afforded to make something out of wood at the moment, or buy something else, so this was a life saver. The hardware cloth needed to cover it (I recommend 1/4 inch cloth because it's too small for lizards to get stuck in, which has been an issue with the 1/2 inch) cost me about $100 more, so it was still affordable for me to get a large structure that truly protects my sweet covey from local raccoons, opossums, coyotes, and birds of prey through the night when I am sleeping or away. I would add that it would be helpful if the roof had a support pole on each side, 1/2 way distance from the middle to the side edges, to hold up the tarp more evenly rounded (vs kind of sunken). But it's mostly an aesthetic thing, more than functional. ... show more

Love the 1 door ( not the 1/2 door where you have to open both top & bottom to get in). Provided sufficient amount of chicken wire. It was easy to put together. The chicken wire takes a little longer.

This cage came in a big box and all I needed to do was attach each pipe in its corresponding place. The instructions were pretty good although I did need to guess some certain things. I do wish that the mesh was at least cut to size for each place because it was a real pain to put the mesh up and get it straight. This thing has been well worth its money since the day I put it up. I’ve watched multiple hawks and large owls bounce off of it time and time again thinking they were gonna get my precious chickens. Not today, not in my house.

Can't review it as a chicken coop, since I don't have chickens. But it DOES work well as a Catio. Didn't use all the chicken wire; just added the tarp roof. VERY Easy to put together. Did it by myself. Not great water proofing when there's wind, but does ok. But even with wind, the tarp holds good and doesn't fly away or tear. Comes with steaks to keep the frame in the ground. Chicken wire is covered in a plastic layer to keep it from being sharp, but you may still want to trim any areas that poke out. Chicken wire attaches with zip ties. You will not use all the zip ties unless you really want to. Don't know how much room it would give a flock of chickens, but one or two cats seem to have plenty. ... show more

The metal portion is easy to put together. We were seriously surprised by the simplicity in the design. The wire going around the frame was not that simple to apply. For that reason we are giving it 3 Stars.
