  • Great for pulling out wheel studs too
Style: Basic
Love this product. Works great for pulling out the wheel studs from my Subaru BRZ gracefully and not use a hammer. The adjustable pin was handy for this purpose allowing the necessary extension for this purpose.

  • Near perfect!
Style: Basic
Ultimately, this did work. I am so happy it did. I had no idea there was a ball joint removal tool other than the standard c-clamp style. The low profile shape of this one was key for my 1994 Lexus ES300. The only issue I had with it was the space between the fork tongs was too close. 7/8" might be the opening, but it tapers quickly reducing the opening too much for my ball joint. I opened it up a bit with a grinder and a flap disc and it ended up being perfect. You can see how much I drilled out the ball joint stud before finding out about this tool. You can also see that I widened the opening. This was perfect for my situation and I was happy to buy it! ... show more

  • Got me out of a jam!
Style: Basic
Got me out of a jam! Had a heck of a time trying to remove a steering stabilizer shock and I was about to give up, but got this tool as my last effort before taking my truck to a shop. It was a battle, but this thing worked! So glad I got this tool and I'm sure I'll use again down the road.

  • Works on tie rods. Not pitman/idler arm. Steel is strong.
Style: Basic
Giving this tool three stars because it is quality steel and did the job that I needed, yanking my 29yr old tie rod ends, both inner and outer from the steering arm and center link on my Chevy c1500. This unit would not work well pulling anything from the pitman or idle arm. A larger tool would be needed in order for that procedure. Speed is fast, yet you'll want to keep your eye protection on, as once that tie rod snaps, it can become quite violent, spewing grease and dirt allover. But after that, the job is done and removal has finished. The socket they provide is useless. It bottoms out at about a half-inch. You'll need an actual 3/4in end wrench to turn it down as far is it needs to go to break the rod ends from the necessary components. ... show more

  • Worked good for me
Style: Basic
First I had a lower ball joint in the front driver side on a 2014 Subaru Forester, north owned car, that was stuck. I used a pickle fork but didn’t have a sledgehammer to drive it so that could have been my problem to begin with. I bought this to solve that problem. I didn’t look at the instructions as the device is pretty self explanatory. There are two holes on the main body that help control distance for bolt travel. If in your car the wedge doesn’t fit try the other hole. I immediately went with the longer travel. I slid the main body into the folk position, tapped lightly to be sure it was in place, then started turning the bolt. Crack the ball joint bolt was free at last. The noise was a little disturbing but when it came out I was all smiles. The other side didn’t need this bad boy. I only used the pickle fork and crack it was free. Honest opinion, this thing is worth not banging on bolts and getting frustrated. But I am not a fan of single purpose tools. Would I get this again if needed. Probably yes. I think the pickle fork is the better option but if that doesn’t do it, get this item to save you from a jam. ... show more
