Great battery with a steep upfront cost but well worth it for sure. I use Optima batteries in my three vehicles (2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport / 2010 Dodge Caliber SXT / 1983 5.0 F-150 4x4. Living in Central Nevada @ 7000 ft we have super cold winters (in 8 yrs 2 times seeing -20 degrees) & barely 110 days above freezing. With that said I have learned how to make these batteries last with near new cranking power at the 2-to-4-& beyond year mark by using a disconnect on the negative battery terminal. Great battery. I’ve used the marine battery, and knew these were hard working batteries. Worth the price. The fit is a bit smaller than my previous vehicle batteries, but my battery case keeps it safe and snug. Cranking power is great.

I got a defective battery purchased in November 2024. It lasted just more than a year. I lost the warranty. Amazon decline to honor the 3-year warranty. Optima asks to contact Amazon for warranty and requires redundant information. My car is dead without a battery for more than a week while contacting them. I have used Optima batteries in the past. But recently, financially, I simply could not afford one. Then I found myself and husband stranded at the grocery store. I called a tow truck and he used his jump pack to jump start the car. I was flummoxed. I had the battery *and* alternator tested previously due to some starting issues. (failure start) They both tested fine. Thankfully, my insurance coverage pays for things like that so I was not out of pocket money to the driver. That was my clue it was time to stop fussing with cheap batteries and bite the bullet. I am not sorry, not one single bit. The warranty Optima has, the durability, the reliability! The cold starting in the dead of winter. This company has never failed me. If you want a battery that will get you through the winter months, go get one! You think everything is fine, I don't need that. My car starts. Well, remember back in the day when a battery was weak and cars didn't have all the electronics in them? If you are old enough, you know what I mean. It would drag and you'd know simply by trying to start the car. But no. Not new cars these days. If your battery doesn't have enough juice to start the car, it simply will not do a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g! No clicks, no starter grrs, nothing. You think to yourself, "I'll just drive to the grocery store real quick to get the stuff I need to do the stuff I'm doing." Then BAM. Nothing. Stuck. OOOORRR.... you're at the grocery store. I get between 7 and 9 years out of these batteries. They're more expensive, but worth not having to change the battery more often because of the design of my car it takes an hour to change.

Lasted for almost 9 years! This battery was purchased back in September/2015; & has to be the most impressive battery that I've experienced in my 40+ yrs of driving Multiple vehicles! I began having issues "starting-up" last January, IF I let it sit more than 3 days with-out driving it! It would just turn over 1-2 times & then only click... requiring a jump... Then it would continue to start up fine the rest of the day, & as long as I started it up, & drove it every day, it worked just fine; until I let it sit again for more than 3 days with-out starting/driving it! = Jump! The specialist claim the average battery life is 3-5 years, but isn't unheard of getting 6 years, if you keep your car well maintained & the battery god's favor you! lol But 9 years,..... That's impressive AF! I went with (purchased) the slightly stronger, more expensive yellow top this time around; see if I can get 10 yrs out of this one, lol.... But I hate to toss the old one out; I'll find an alternative use for it... It's a little dirty, but still has a little life left, if doesn't involve starting engines; I'm thinking this Christmas train I'm build as front yard display to drive around my 8' inflatable Tree, lol... Anywho, here's a picture of it! These Optima's, are the "Father of all car Batteries!" I highly recommend getting one! Good luck! ... show more
