  • Best Car Battery You Can Buy
Got this for a 2005 Mustang GT. Fit perfectly. It has WAY higher CA and CCA ratings than the Duralast Gold it replaced. I've ALWAYS went with Optima because they last forever. Yes, they are expensive, but they are TOUGH, they don't die on you if you happen to let them drain dead overnight by leaving the radio and lights on for 20 hours or whatever like many batteries do. I'll update if any issues come to plague us, but if you don't see me come back, just know the battery is still doing perfect, even if it's 8 years from now. I may update every 3-4 years and say how it's doing, but I have faith 4 years will be trouble free with an Optima Red Top. I'm just saying, it's worth paying the extra hundred for one of these than saving that hundred and needing to buy another car battery 8 months to 2 years MAX later. These last forever AND they blow the competition away with the cold cranking amp ratings (the important rating). I've used these since 2005 or 2006. I even keep a spare that I've had for 6 years that I keep to bring with jumper cables if I ever need to jump someone off since it's so much easier. I think it may be 8 years old now, actually, lol. Long story short, this is one of the most important components of your vehicle. THIS decides whether you crank and leave or get stuck where you parked. This decides if you run it dead, will it still be good (yes) or will you kill a cell with some other cheaper brand (you will). Spend the money for one of these and then you can forget about worrying about your car battery for YEARS to come. ... show more

  • Lasts Longer and worth the cost.
I just replaced the Optima Battery I installed Sept. 26, 2016 with the same one, on Nov. 13, 2020. This Battery probably would have lasted longer but my Alternator failed and I drove the car home 15 miles on just the Battery, 3 weeks after I replaced the alternator. I went to start the car yesterday (11/12/2020) and when I turned the key the usual dash lights and gauge lights did not illuminate and there wasn't even the usual click from the starter it was also 17 degrees outside. I checked the Battery with my Multi-tester and it registered 3.6 volts. I used to get my Car Batteries from Walmart, El-Cheapos and get maybe 2 - 2 1/2 years not much more. I never had a Car Battery last over 4 years. The Battery cost more than I could get for the 1999 Nissan Sentra 1.6 liter, with 220,000 miles on it, that it's in, but I work the graveyard shift and the last thing you need is Car trouble and what's even worse is during Utah winters, and as long as it gets 25 City / 45 High-way mpg. I'll keep driving it . I also replaced the Pressed Plastic Tank Radiator with a Griffin Aluminum one it's been in there 10 years. I will continue to buy and install Optima Batteries in all my vehicles. I also have one in my Subaru Outback, and that Optima Battery has only 2 years 7 months use on it. Thank you Optima. ... show more

  • Worth the money excellent quality
I cannot stop recommending Optima batteries. The are perfect for off-roaders or daily drivers. They are lighter than normal lead acid batteries and fit everything. Highest quality, starts all the time, and last longer than average battery. It is worth the money especially for your car if it has stop-start. ... show more

  • "Upto 3x longer life" is the claim, but it is dead after just 1 year.
Bought this to replace my old battery, which I don't even remembered replacing. Since I live in Las Vegas now, and my mechanic told me that the heat and cold will shorten the battery life, I opted to buy the best one available on the market. Sadly, it first started giving me trouble after just 1 year and will not even start my car after exactly 13 months (from order date Dec 15, 2014 to January 28, 2016). Thought it was just a fluke at first when it will not start my car when I was trying to commute to work, but it was really cold that week. And since then it has struggle to start but started the engine, unless I purposely leave the car parked over 36 hours to see if it is the battery not having enough juice to start the engine. And sure enough, I only hear the clicking sound and that's it. It will start for awhile when given a jump start, but today I felt embarrassed for my car not starting after filling up at a busy gas station, since I was inconveniencing others patiently waiting in line to fill up and go about their day. Seriously expected a lot more for a battery that claims to have 3x the battery life compared to other competitors. But after 1 year and 1 month, the premium price paid for this battery seems not worth it. Especially reading all the reviews that claims the warranty is not honored at all. Anyway, 2 stars for now, but will update once I find out more from the manufacturer and Amazon. ----------UPDATE---------- This is the email reply sent my Optima Customer Care, which basically punt the responsibility of warranty claim (13 months within the 36 months warranty period to Amazon, the original retailer). Hi Tony, Warranties are handled by the original retail location with original receipt. Most retail locations register your sale with your phone number and can track that purchase. Amazon does handle the warranty on the batteries they sell; you simply need to contact them for warranty services. If you have any issues attempting to get warranty assistance please get the name of the person you spoke with and give us a call or email us. The Optima factory warranty policy requires a receipt from the original purchaser. Your purchase receipt: 1. Establishes the beginning date of service. 2. Identifies you as the original purchaser 3. Identifies that the battery is used in a consumer (not commercial) application. 4. Identifies the sale as a retail purchase. Without this there is no way to verify that the battery was purchased new, never been used. Thank you, Matt Optima Customer Service ----------END UPDATE (1/28/2016)---------- So basically, the manufacturer want s the buyer to follow up with Amazon, and come up with all the excuses (including allegations that Amazon.com actually would sell used car batteries, which is a completely laughable notion) so they will not have to honor their own warranty policy. FYI, Amazon will only assist you with this purchase if it is with the first 90 days, after that it is a struggle speaking to or live chatting with Amazon's support. Good battery if you don't end up with a lemon. Bad service from Optima Batteries, at the unacceptable level. Amazon customer service is a lot better, but you have to be firm and explain everything to them, in the hopes that an equitable resolution can be reached. Buyer beware. ... show more
