This thing is so versatile! Assembly was fast he had it unboxed and running in under 5 minutes and have used this for so many different things! It's great for finding bullet casings in the grass after my husbands target practice and the kids love using it to look for "buried treasure" so it keeps them busy for a while. Its very light weight, and is super easy to use and understand. The display has two dials that you can adjust to help it sense certain types of metal and ignore others which comes in handy when we start finding a lot of old nails we adjust the dials so it doesnt pick those up anymore. It runs on two D batteries which are included and the battery life is decent too. The kit also includes a small folding pick/shovel combo to help dig up your findings and a set of headphones which I find great for using on windy days or when you just dont want to bother others with the noise. Definitely a great buy would recommend to anyone in the market for a metal detector

Bought one each for 2, 5 and 9 year old grand kids. It caught ALL of their attention. Even the 2 YO was excited about them. We initially got hung up in the problem of having all 3 too close together, but soon remembered that we have to have a few feet distance from one another. Besides the coins I planted in the yard, the kids found some other interesting things, and they're excited that they can take them to other places to search also. We didn't soak them but it had just finished raining so we were using them in wet grass. We brought them in and wiped them off when finished and they are just fine. I think these are great metal detectors to try the little ones on---great to get their minds working and get them outside. GREAT PURCHASE(s)!

This came with everything you need to get started, which was nice. It took about 10 minutes to put together, but wasn’t too hard to do. It’s decently accurate and pretty sensitive. It even detected some of the metal elements in our tile floor. It’s lightweight and easy for a 6 year old to use. The height is adjustable, though on its lowest setting it probably wouldn’t be good for anyone younger than 5 or 6. Overall a good value for money. Also maybe a small detail but it is nice that the digging accessories are plastic and lightweight. No real risk of kids getting injured by them.

I dont think it works. I took it around my kitchen and nothing. You mean to tell me nothing in my kitchen is metal ? Bull. Grandson broke his wrist 2 weeks ago. I got this thinking he could use it with 1 hand. He is getting bored with it real fast !
