  • Reliable Automatic Coop Door That Fits the Eglu Perfectly
Color: Grey
The Omlet Chicken Coop Automatic Door has been a game-changer for us. While it isn’t the cheapest option, it was the only auto door I could find that fit our used Eglu Coop, and it installed seamlessly. The instructions are thorough (a full manual comes with it), and there’s also a helpful video. Installation was straightforward, and based on the design, I think it would adapt well to many types of coops beyond the Eglu. Programming is simple. I chose the timed setting instead of the light sensor, since shady areas can confuse the sensor, and adjusting the times a couple of times per year with the seasons has been easy. The door has been consistent, reliable, and is still showing 100% battery life after regular use. The biggest benefit is convenience—especially when we’re away. We originally purchased it before a vacation so our neighbor didn’t need to open and close the coop twice daily. It’s also better for the hens, since they get let out earlier in the morning without waiting for us. There was a short adjustment period for the chickens. At first, one hen was hesitant and got locked out two nights in a row, but using the manual open button solved that, and now the flock has fully adjusted. I specifically chose this model over the Smart Auto Door after hearing reports of the smart version malfunctioning. So far, this model has been consistent, sturdy, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend if you want peace of mind and reliable automation for your flock. ... show more

  • Nicely Made-Works Well
Color: Smart Green
Definitely a must have especially in cold weather! This was such a game changer in our lock up the chicken routine that we ended up buying two for the second coop we have!! The only hiccup we had was a time when some wood chip or straw got stuck in the track and the door kept opening and closing ; one of our hens didn’t want to trust going inside-(understandable)-so my husband had to carry her in clean out the track and close the door! Just make sure your track stays clean and it’s still works even with a little bit falling in there so don’t be afraid of buying this. The first couple of days you’re gonna have to go out and make sure the hens went in because we had an issue on the second day where one of the older birds didn’t want to go inside and she spent the night in the hen yard, *which is fenced in and protected, but I don’t know how much fencing and protection you can do against raccoons and foxes if they really wanna chew through your fence. Once they got the hang of it, they go inside about an hour before it closes. We did not get the one where you can set it on your phone. Our is programmed at the outdoor connection box. ... show more

  • Stopped working after 2 weeks
Color: Smart Grey
I LOVED this door for the first two weeks of use. I live in the NE where the sun sets early in the afternoon. The door's light mode was working perfectly and was closing on time, until it didn't. Now the door doesn't work AT ALL. The control panel is on, has good battery, has good connection with the door, but won't communicate to the door. I'm having to manually push the door open and closed myself until I'm able to have some daylight to troubleshoot it. The manual for the system is NOT helpful for trouble shooting this - I have checked everything listed in the manual: wire connections, cleaning the track, battery power, etc. Even when on manual mode the door will not open/close even though the panel says it should be. I spent WAY too much money on this for it to only have worked for 2 weeks. Additionally, I dismantled my perfect manual door to install this and now STILL have to be there to manually push it open and closed. Disappointed is an understatement. Don't waste your money on this overpriced crap. ... show more

  • Best chicken door ever!!!!
Color: Smart Green
This is the BEST chicken door made!! Worth its weight in gold! You can set it with a timer to open and close automatically at certain times or use the solar sensor. I love the app which notifies me when it opens and closes even when I am away from home. I can adjust the time from my app as well as open and close the door manually from my app if needed. It lasts for several years. It does go through batteries quickly, but still completely worth it!! ... show more

  • Must have electricity for this door to work as intended
Color: Smart Grey
I wanted to give it a decent amount of time using this door before I wrote a review. I want to add that I purchased 3 other automatic/timer/bluetooth type doors before I spent the big bucks on this one. My main goal was to be able to control the door easily remotely when I wanted to let my chickens out in the morning. I really didn’t want a timer. I wanted to control the door from my house which is about 175 ft from my coop. First off instruction booklet is a decent size book!! Pretty intimidating but much of it is other languages or products. Had to figure that out but not gonna lie. Scared me at first!! It really wasn’t hard to set up but instructions were weird. When I installed the door on my coop I was not running any electricity to my coop. It has a battery function so I figured it would be fine. I did read MANY reviews prior to the purchase of my Omlet door complaining about battery issues because I had purchased 3 other brand doors after they did not fit my needs. I had concerns about the battery function based on the reviews. The other reviews were correct. The WiFi connectivity drains all batteries. Trust me I tried every brand of battery and even talked to Omlet on what type they recommended. I had to change the batteries every 5-6 days. It is a pain in the butt to get the back open so changing them that much was awful. WHEN batteries are fully charged to 60% range, the door will obey commands, but ONLY after it wakes up from being “asleep”. No immediate command control. 15-20 min lag time. Under a 60% battery charge it will go offline. Constantly. The only way to get it back online is to change the batteries. My WiFi is in my house and I use extenders to bounce it out to my barn and coop for cameras etc. I started to think this might be the problem. At that point I was ready to give up on the door but I thought let’s run some electricity to it and see if that makes a difference. It DID NOT come with a cord. I had to purchase one. Omlet sells them but I bought one from Amazon. Not my plan as I had to add electric power in my coop but I rigged up an extension cord for power. BINGO!!!!!. The door now works as it should. It keeps a strong WiFi connection, immediate command control and I now love it. I can lie in bed and when my rooster demands its time to be let out I can open the door from the house from my Omlet phone app. The app also tells you the status (open/close) of the door which is nice. I can close the chickens in the coop at night when they go inside also from the app. It now functions for me as intended. I will also add that I use hemp in my coop as bedding and it is the ONLY door that I purchased (3) that has the safety anti pinch function that does not get clogged up with bedding in the door frame. The way it is made it’s very easy to push any bedding in the frame out of the way. I do wish that I had an additional key pad for inside the coop. It comes with one but at times I want to open it from either side and may not have my phone on me. Over all Omlet makes top notch products! I also own their feeder and waterer. They have amazing customer support and put much thought into design . I may purchase an additional door for my outside run BUT it HAS to have an electrical outlet to be plugged into and I HAVE to know that it’s predator proof which I do sometimes question based off the design. My run is Fort Knox so they would have to get through that currently to even encounter my Omlet door to break into my coop. I’m giving it 4 stars because it took me months to get it to work as intended but I really wanted a WiFi controlled chicken coop door so I kept trouble shooting. Maybe Omlet will make improvements to the next generation of this chicken coop door to accommodate battery power better. If you have electric power it will be great. ... show more

  • The best door on the market
Color: Smart Grey
The quality of this automatic coop door is far superior to other doors!!! It’s made of very durable thick plastic with replaceable parts if need be etc motor. The weight of it is pretty good it’s not a light cheap door it does have some weight to it but not bad. The WiFi function of this door is great with really good range. It’s very easy to setup in the Omlet app and it will send you notifications on opening and closing and if a chicken is in the way it’ll automatically stop closing and notify you. I did go with the direct plug in to power because I have power to my coop and it’s easy to close it whenever or open on my demand. If you use the battery option there is a delay in opening or closing which I did not like but it is for power saving. I will definitely recommend this door to anyone and everyone!!!! ... show more
