I wasn’t sure if these would work, but they actually do. My cat no longer scratches the corners of the couch. While they aren’t exactly attractive, they do at least blend in because they are clear. One piece is the right size for the corner of my couch (I made sure it was placed exactly where she tended to scratch) and they also have sufficient stickiness because they’ve stayed in place for several months. I purchased a new couch and was nervous about my cat using it as its new scratch post. It has now been five weeks since I had my couch, and my cat has not attempted to scratch the couch with the guards in place. The protectors are great. They have a sticky side that you put to the couch. And I like the clear pins for extra attachment . My cat was destroying my brand new recliner. She had shredded the fabric down to the frame. Ordered this cat scratch protector, arrived the next day, no more problems. The protector was easy to use. I trimmed all the dangling fabric fragments off the chair before vacuuming. I had no problem getting the protector to stick. I only used the pins in two places where there was a curve. My cat has a scratching post nearby and decided it was now the better place to dig in her claws. It has been four days since application and kitty has not returned to the scene of the crime. I do treasure the memory of her confused face when she discovered the change in the corner of "her" chair. So worth it. I purchased a brand new pink couch and my cats had two entire side edges completely ruined down to the wood of the couch. I purchased some fabric to cover the sides and then put this plastic cover over it and they’ve left it alone since!
