  • For the high list price, I was appalled to find a loud, cheap, plastic clock needing batteries.
I really thought I read the description of this wall clock thoroughly, but perhaps I did not. Based on the description and, especially the price tag, I expected the clock to be made of some type of sturdy metal throughout and based on the misleading photos in the listing of a seemingly GIGANTIC clock based on scale of design in the pics, I definitely expected the clock to be a lot bigger. You know that piece of functional wall art that draws focus to the eyes of the guests in your home? Like, something with a bit of wow-factor, not a piece of lightweight plastic holding up obnoxiously loud gears, which run on alkaline batteries, while the clocks hands run on a separate battery. Can anyone say that they have ever installed batteries in anything ever that lived out their battery life in perfect unison? I may hang it in the basement somewhere no one has to hear it just to see how that works out. However, I have looked at much larger, more impressive wall clocks, of similar style (large imposing numbers marking the hours, with the steampunk look industrial gears I find very appealing usually) at well-known home goods stores located across the United States, that meet the expectations I had for this clock, while selling for half the price...less with some stores weekly 40% off any item coupon...It is disappointing, because I was really excited when I saw this piece and it was such a disappointment. But, as they say, time marches on! ... show more

  • Some good and some bad with this item, but overall a nice clock
I love the modern industrial look mixed with a little steam punk and this item was what I was looking for in a wall clock. I love that the gears turn independently as the clock hands move, but with the movement comes noise that takes a while to get used to especially when your room is silent. I like the coloring on the clock that is made to look much older and the number are easy to read when placed against a lighter colored wall. My only negative is that the clock is made from a thin plastic and although no one will ever know when it is on the wall, I think that they could have made the base from something a little higher quality especially for the price point. ... show more

  • Really unique high quality clock
The media could not be loaded. This clock has been really great. It keeps time perfectly, features a silent seconds hand that sweeps around flawlessly, and has enhanced the look of the room where I mounted it. It requires quite a few batteries, but I'm hoping this is more for convenience – meaning it will run for a long time before needing new ones – rather than due to a severe power drain. The clock was packaged securely and it was simple to insert the batteries, set the time, and place it on my wall. The price is steep, but with some items, you get what you pay for, and this is one of those cases. I recommend it. ... show more

  • Neat but… Overpriced in my opinion
I do actually really like this wall clock. I think it looks great and all the moving parts and pieces are a super cool feature. I was surprised that it takes so many batteries but I also didn’t throughly read the description. The moving sprockets are the outside 4 batteries and the hands are the single battery in the middle on the hand motor itself. We shall see how long the batteries last from continuous operation because if they don’t last long that’s a deal killer for me. That being said you could actually use the clock with just 1 battery for the hands and not use the rest. My reason for 4 stars is the outside area just feels lightweight and cheap. It looks fantastic from the front but taking it out of the box it’s so lightweight with little to no sturdiness whatsoever. I’d say at $40 this would be a 5 star clock because it would still be rickety but realistically priced. It looks like there’s a lot to it but really it’s probably 12 individually molded pieces and a few cheap motors for the sprockets. All that aside I do think it’s neat and looks great. I spoke too soon, I didn’t have time to realize how obnoxiously loud this clock is. It does have a shut off when there’s no lights on. What about when there is lights on though? What if you are trying to sit quietly and read or something? Its gear mechanism is louder than it should be. It’s annoying and they should have a way to maybe slow it down or something to help with the noise ... show more

  • Not for quiet places.
This is a sharp looking clock but since the gears on it move it makes a lot more noise than any clock I have ever heard. The light sensor on it does work so when it's dark the gears stop turning. You'd need to put it in a location where there was constant background noise during daylight hours. I can't see this working in places of solitude or meditation. I'll probably pull the batteries out of the gear box and have them be non-moving gears. ... show more

  • Very cool clock.
This is so cool to watch. The clock is nice and large so you can read it from quite a distance away. It is made of plastic but that doesn't take away from the appearance at all. The gears moving do not make any noise that I am able to hear. Watching all the gears go around and around is very cool.

  • Looks nice - Sometimes noisy
The media could not be loaded. This is an attractive looking vintage style wall clock The frame is all plastic but it's molded pretty well and looks good The moving gears take four AA batteries and there are times where it does get a little noisy The ad description says that it is silent, but it really is not and in the video you can hear it, but there are times it is much louder. Not In a disruptive way, but you notice it Even though the clock hands are a different color than the frame , there are times where I find it a little hard to read The background does get a little busy with the moving gears The moving gears are a conversation starter and most people do find it unique I do find this to be a little bit pricey for what you get ... show more
