I have used many scan tools before. Every oldschool radio Oscilloscope I worked at a Cadillac/Hybrid specialty shop and the boss had more scan tools for different brands, special ones for abs, diff ones for trabs. Etc. this does it ALL. It does it Wirelessly Which is Awesome. You dont realize till you use it how much walking it saves. So watch out they sent me a "Pre-Owned" one... Registered to a "Miguell" so that was kind of a PITA.... Back story days ago i had a diff brand sinilar i was trying but it turned into a brick 1st use mid test ... So i thought after returbing i should try something else .. Then i open this obviously pre-owned scratched screen. Thankfully no password. Tried to log in/update would bot go. Tried to register. Negative. Had to factory reset and e-mail the company. Amazon just wanted to return refund. I wasn't t going there... I mailed the other one back yesterday and am still out $ fir that one till it goes through. To do it all over again... I would have exchanged perhaps.. but i cant afford 3 in 3 days LOL. So i opted to e mail Vident which worked out great they are quick to respond and unlocked reset serial # etc. no problem. Update main program. Update vehichle database. Wireless is so cool, if you want to test lights, or fuel pump, turn on VSV solenoid. injectors you can change duty cycle % or pwm. Theres so many options if you arent careful you can mess some stuff and your vehicle up im pretty sure. So in conparison this tablet is thick. Its heafty but feels like it belongs in a shop holding itm the one i had days ago was so thin i honestly was afraid id drop it. This thing has a round charge plug for power that kind of sucks but its whatever. It DOES have an HDMI to link to tv or hi def transmitter video projection pretty cool. It saves reports of diag reports with your ship info already filled in. You can e mail to customer directly or print . The battery life is VERY impressive. I charged it to full and the. Started my process of attempting to register etc. its been on all day not off at all. And batter still like 70% now. In about to give it a work out. Hoping it can do all this: I got a 2011 chrysler 3.6 pentastar: -Cam Crank Relearn -Activate VVT Cam Phasers hopefully do an electrical drive. Hydraulic oil cleaning flush of the oil passages .... -Adjust the Idle, been really low while in drive... So maybe I'll report back after I've given it a full workout. So far i dig the Tablet. The case is decent, 3 years of updates, and nore features than I've seen on scanners costing $2k & up. This has a built in Oscilloscope feature cant wait to try that. It claims Topology diag. I havent gotten there yet. I did hook it to my 2000 Toyota 4 Runner Limited 3.4 5vzfe. And i was thoroughly impressed. 1st i didnt know what all it would even be able to do on that vehicle. Im pretty familiar with the vehicles systens, i installed this motor. But i know it has like a vacum fuel press reg. For example.. so i wasnt 100% sure how much bi-directional stuff it could control. So thats the confusing part. Going through the menu they may have 3 or 5 things listed for like the VSV for example but only 1 or 2 may actually work on that vehicle. Just different terms and settings. Im also curious how many channels live data it can monitor. Earlier when i tried looked like 2. Which id be shocked if thats it. My ELM 327 $5 and my android phone app can do y or 8 simultaneous live data i think You can update vin & odometer to used ecm/instrument cluster etc. i have pulled security pin # from car and learned into new modules. Tpms sensor replacement. Programmed new keys. Activated remote start. Very cool

I have a wide assortment of scan tools. My go to has been a Autel but mine did not have topology and I really wanted to have a Birds Eye view of all the vehicles sensor layout to assist in quicker vehicle diagnosis. I stumbled across this one and was enticed by the laundry list of features and capabilities. I found it on a very good sale and decided to try it. After it arrived, I decided to give it a quick test on a few of my cars before trying it on any customer vehicles. I was shocked at how fast it is! My Autel or even my Xtool scanners have higher performance specs, but are nowhere close to the speed off this Vident scanner. Not only did it find the vehicle in about 2 seconds on auto scan, it performed the entire systems scan much faster. It has small detail features that also set it apart. While attached to the vehicle are, it always displays the vehicle’s current voltage. I love this feature. Another great feature is it displays a parameter field for a properly functioning sensor so it saves time from having to look them up. If you do want to look them up quickly, you can flip over to the internet browser. The updates are fast and efficient. All my other Autel, Xtool and Launch scanners are painfully slow to detect vehicles, scan vehicles and update. The Vident excels at all of these saving me much more time. The Vident has a more dynamic verity of tools and service features than my scanners that cost substantially more. I waited awhile to review this tool, because I really wanted to get a in-depth feel for the features, performance and day to day functionality of this scanner. It exceeded my relatively high expectations and presented what I would call a extreme value. The Vident scanner is a must have for a DIYer or a professional. I just wish I would have found it sooner. I personally love tools as much as I do repairing vehicles. That said, I have started looking for some of the other Vident scanners because this one offers such a robust feature set at a unbelievable value, I just have to research the company and its product offerings further. This scanner punches far, far above it’s weight. I am going to make a video highlighting the feature set and comparing it against some more expensive scan tools. If you are in the market for a sub $700 scanner, seriously, buy this one. UPDATE: Less than a year and it won’t connect to any WiFi network. Now the unit can’t be updated and can’t utilize any online features!

Minor Drawbacks Processing Speed: While generally fast, occasionally report minor lag when graphing complex real-time data. OS Version: The Android 7.1 base is older, though it remains stable for dedicated diagnostic use. The tablet Also, you have to charge it with a 9 V charger, which it's definitely a drawback for me. Because everything is USB C nowadays, and with multiple devices you want to keep your amount of different chargers to a minimum i will say this tablet is much different in its overall experience. And there are a lot of cool features and stuff that you can't due on some of the more expensive tablets even So if you're looking for a scan tool at a decent price. I highly recommend it i also do like the feature that you can turn off the chime. For whenever you disconnect from the vehicle, like my expensive launch tablet, you can't turn that off. And I hate it i also had trouble setting up the Bluetooth. The first time I set it up. But after I got it working, it was a breeze. Also another cool feature about this tablet that you rarely ever see is that it has an HD M. I. I'm still trying to learn how to use this scanner. It seems a little combersom on my old 2005 G35. It will not Automatically find old vehicles if they don't provide that feature (not the units fault). Luckily you can put the vehicle in memory so you don't have to manually reload it. Topology works but doesn't change colors if Fail or Pass, like the higher end units. I would like to see if the branches could be set to High/Medium/Low speed Com. The unit seems to be slower then those used by the professional diagnostic technicians on YouTube. For the DIYer who wants more the a reader, this the perfect scan tool when on sale

This scan tool is a best buy! I was able to trace down the reason for my ABS fault by running a scan and using the topology mapping feature to identify the module that was not responding. Locating the module physically, I was able to find that mice had damaged the wiring. The Bluetooth feature is great because it allowed me to move around the vehicle as I was troubleshooting and then run the test again from the affected area when I found and separated the crossed wires. The scan tool is built inside a rugged enclosure and all accessories are stored within the included carrying case. It identifies the vehicle make, model, engine, and VIN within seconds and allows the ability to do a full scan or just target a specific portion of the vehicle’s network. The bi-directional communication is flawless, allowing actuation tests on solenoids, fuel injectors, throttle, horn, etc. The live data graphing feature is a plus and the data can be emailed out. At this price-point, a shop or hobbyist should consider this a top contender for a value-packed, full-function scan tool. Customer service response is fast! I had a few questions during setup and updating, and they got right back to me with videos and photos to assist.

It does some things but not all I wouldn’t buy this agine it advertises more then it actually can do don’t waste ur money on this get a better one and when I received mine it was locked with another account had to send back for another takes for ever to charge an isn’t worth the amount paid

A Lifesaver for Any DIY Mechanic! Exceeded All My Expectations. I've had the chance to use the VIDENT iSmart800PROBT scanner, and I have to say I am absolutely satisfied with its performance. This device has proven to be an incredible tool. Before I had it, my vehicle had a persistent and frustrating issue that several professional mechanics had been unable to pinpoint or fix. The iSmart800PROBT allowed me to accurately identify the root cause of the problem, and to my surprise, I was able to repair it myself. That single experience has already saved me a significant amount of time and money I would have continued spending at repair shops. Being able to perform such a precise and in-depth diagnosis at home is fantastic. I've also been very impressed with how easy it is to use, with an intuitive interface that makes the process straightforward. In summary: · Am I satisfied with the performance? Yes, completely. · Any suggestions for improvement? None at this time. It has exceeded all my expectations! If you're looking for a serious, reliable diagnostic scanner to work on your vehicle, I can't recommend the iSmart800PROBT enough. It's an investment that pays for itself many times over.

Worked pretty well until the dongle quit working now I have a pricy paper weight. Customer service is not good they don’t return emails so ya I wouldn’t buy again
