This is a nice code reader for the price range that it is in. It doesn't take long to boot up. It's fast at retrieving codes. The menu is self-explanatory and easy to navigate. There is a USB C port on the bottom of the unit that is used to update the firmware in the unit. It will also power up the unit. The unit automatically powers up when connected to an OBD 2 diagnostic port. I have not tried to update the firmware, but it is supposed to be free. This unit can be used on 1996 and up OBD 2 systems. You can capture some live data. You can look at the OBD 2 monitor test results, view freeze frame data and reset oil lights on applicable vehicles. There is also a cloud print selection that is used when connected to a laptop. I have not tested that ability. This is a nice code reader, and it is what it is for the price range it's in. There are few things to note with that being said. This is NOT a bidirectional scanner. Resetting an oil lite does not make it bidirectional. Bidirectional is being able to turn certain components on and off for testing. Performing resets and relearns and various other things. The live data that you can view is related to OBD 2 functions, mainly emissions related. The data is in digital, and you cannot graph it. This unit doesn't technically test anything; you view the results of OBD 2 monitor tests. This unit does have a lot of nice features. Just be aware of what it can do and what you are trying to accomplish, and you won't be disappointed.

I'm torn between liking and disliking this OBD device. If it proves to work well, it's a good OBD device for the price. I haven't had a real problem to diagnose yet, so I find making a judgment a bit premature. If I'm able to use it soon, I'll come back and update. But I have a much fancier OBD device that costs three times as much in my own car which I use more often and I got this one as a spare for my wife's 2023 Sienna minivan. I don't need two OBDs, especially because I also have a couple BT OBD devices that connect to my phone through Torque. But I could get it for free as a Vine reviewer (in return for this review) so I ordered it to keep in the minivan. A few minutes ago I went out to the van to try it out. The maintenance (oil) light is on though I changed the oil a few weeks ago and I thought I would use the "Reset Oil" function to turn the light off. No luck. I tried to use it and I found it doesn't even list a Sienna model year after 2010 as an option for reset. And the reset for prior years is only text directions on how to do it manually, not using the OBD. In addition, the device failed to recognize the Sienna's ECU several times when I was trying to use it. I know OBD devices can be squirrely and it did eventually recognize the car, but the failures were discouraging. So at this point I think this thing works and is useful, but I wish it had been able to do what I asked of it just now.

Item arrived well packed. Upon arrival and reading instructions it feels solid in terms of build quality but trying to update using there updater has been slightly annoying as it failed multiple times before updating properly. The UI is very simple which is good especially for users who aren't experts and so far from the codes I had to deal with it works at reading and telling me what they are. Now I don't recommend this for professionals as there is no replacement for the higher end tools that mechanics use but for regular average joe trying to read error codes from your car I do find this very useful as a reader. For the money it's worth the value of the product is good at least for needs. Your needs may vary.

This OBDII scanner is about as basic as they come! It will scan your vehicle's diagnostic codes once you have input the appropriate manufacturer information. However, it lacks many of the important details that you might find on more expensive scanners. For example, it will show you the raw fault code, but not the detailed description assigned by the manufacturer. Expect to be left scouring the internet for possible leads. The build quality of the scanner is good. It has a rugged feel in your hand, and the color screen is easy to see in direct sunlight. The carrying bag is a nice addition as well since it keeps the cords in order and allows you to stash this underneath a car seat for safe keeping. I like ability to reset the oil change mileage and clear the schedule service lights on your dash. If that is something that is important to you, then I would say this tool is a good value. Otherwise, it seems overpriced for the features it provided when compared to other scanners on the market.

This scanner is great! It’s very easy to use, and you don’t need to know the “codes” or google the “codes” to find out what’s actually wrong as the scanner displays the actual codes in written text instead of just a reference number. The screen is very clear and easy to read, and the processing speed is impressive as you don’t have to wait on it to “think”. I even let a friend borrow it to try on his daughter’s car, to try to save some money on fixing it, and it accurately displayed the problem, and he liked it so much he asked me for a link to this scanner and immediately bought his own! So, all in all, it’s a good value for your money and I highly recommend this!
