Description

The BioMaster line of premium external filters is perfect for marine and freshwater aquariums. This filter boasts 4-stage filtration and is designed with sealed filtration pathways to ensure water travels the most efficient path through all filter media – creating optimal water quality and clarity. Water is first directed through the pre-filter’s activated carbon foams which remove toxins and odors, then into the main chamber with filter foams of differing pore densities and Hel-x Biomedia – all providing surface area ideal for the settlement of beneficial bacteria. To optimize your aquarium filtration OASE offers coarse 30, fine 45, and ultra-fine 60 ppi replacement foams to customize your pre-filter. The BioMaster filters are engineered with integrated safety locking features on the handle, pre-filter, and check valve in the inlet/outlet connection unit, ensuring no accidental spillage or messy maintenance. The EasyClean pre-filter can be removed and cleaned separately from the rest of the filter, which cuts down on maintenance and extends the life of your filter. Other filter features include simple priming for fast and easy startup, and adjustable flow control for the inlet and outlet. Easily integrate an OASE HeatUp adjustable heater into the BioMaster canister (HeatUp not included). BioMaster 850 is suitable for use in aquariums up to 225 gallons. Designed using German engineering and manufactured in Italy, this energy efficient filter is supported by an included 3 year warranty with a free 1 year warranty extension with online product registration.

    • Easy Flow, Easy Clean
Style: Biomaster 850
I love the preFilter option and the inline heating. Dont have to do deep filter cleaning as often. They are a little noisy at first but after a couple months or even less they break in and get A LOT quieter. The out flow isnt as strong as on some other filters in this price range, so if you need a stronger outflow this wouldn't be the one for you. But, if your fish need a calmer water its perfect! ... show more

    • Build quality and simple maintenance
Style: Biomaster 850
This is a very configurable canister with multiple trays of media. The best part of this canister is the pre filter. By doing routine maintenance on the ease to remove prefilter it really stretches the time between servicing the main trays of media. This filter is quite. Physically it is tall, keep in mind the filter and the heater come out the top so you will need room. Servicing tip always disconnect the in/out water connection before removing the prefilter (don't just turn the lever to block flow). This will remove suction and prevent mess when lifting the prefilter. ... show more

    • Started my canister filter journey
Style: Biomaster 850
Love it. Set-up was a breeze. (thank goodness for all the fishy folks on YouTube with how-to help!) Got 3 varying sizes for my large tanks. So much more adaptable to your filtering needs. If you’re in the fishkeeping hobby I highly recommend checking into the possibility of using canister filtration. I’ve wasted so much $ in the last 3 years on various filter products. ... show more

    • Takes long to prim
Style: Biomaster 850
It’s very quiet and works very well. The only thing is that it take so long to prim it. At some point I thought this thing wasn’t working. But it took very long to pump to prim until water coming out of the outlet.

    • Super Quiet
Style: Biomaster 850
Yes, it's expensive. But I did a lot of research and must say this is the best one out there. I work from a home office, just 3 feet away from it, and I can't hear it at all. I love the easy maintenance. Keeps water nice and clear. I would definitely recommend it.

    • Excellent filter!
Style: Biomaster 850
Great filter for my 75 Gallon. The one feature I wish it had was a more convenient way to do water changes. Can't win them all!
