I'm new to wok cooking. Work fast as when you dial up the heat, the Nuwave delivers it quickly, in seconds. Check the smoking point of whatever oil you use. I set off my smoke alarm overheating the peanut oil. Avocado oil has the highest smoke point. Large capacity. No problem cooking a stir fry for your family. I had a problem cleaning the wok of it burnt bits. I checked online as to whether - if you needed to - buy another wok pan. No, the Nuwave wok pan is designed to fit its heater base. Nuwave's site advises you to contact their customer service for another pan if you want a replacement.

[ Packaging ] Average amount of packaging. (1) box, (1) induction base, (1) wok, (1) lid, (1) frying rack, (1) wok rest, (1) set of manuals [ The Good ] I’ve mostly used this for frying so far. I wanted to get this in order to keep a certain temperature running, in a way that is controllable (more so than fire). Setting this wok up was fairly easy. I cleaned the wok, and heated up oil using the preheat feature. The preheat is configured to 375 degrees, which is a good temperature for many things. You can also choose what temperature to preheat to. There are many options on the Nuwave, and I’m still going through them. They are mostly about timing. E.g. You can choose to cook at 415 degrees for 10 minutes, and the machine will operate only based on that info. The preheat feature is pretty quick. It only takes a minute or two to get up to temperature. During my cooking, and when there is nothing in the wok, I am able to easily adjust the temp on the fly using the temperature dial. This is especially useful when I want to lower the temp (to prevent oil from smoking too much), however, keeping enough heat to shorten cooking times. I use this wok only for high-temp purposes, so I keep the wattage to 1500. When running, there is a bit of noise from the fan. There is also beeping from clicking on the buttons. I don’t mind these characteristics. Everything is very easy to clean. The wok cleans up like other woks, and it takes a little bit of alcohol to clean up the induction base to start looking like new again. I haven’t experienced sudden changes in temperature, so it’ll be interesting to see how it performs when doing stir frys, cooking soup, or other things. This machine doesn’t have a problem reaching certain temps, so it would just be a test for retaining heat. But so far, I’m very happy. [ What Could Be Better ] I have no complaints. [ Takeaway ] To me, this is a great tool to have. If you like having precise control on the temperature, and cook using a wok, this is the combination for you. This definitely makes my cooking time quicker overall. This is a tool that doesn’t necessarily make the user a better cook, but rather performs based on the cook’s skills/knowledge.

Used this for hot pot and it worked great. It's going to be perfect for cooking spicy or smoky things outside when I don't want to stink up the house. My one issue is that it will shut off while you're cooking if you don't set the timer right. The timer feature is a unneeded hassle.

This is as good as it gets, without having to break out a heavy steel wok to cook on a gas stove. The entire unit seems very well constructed. The wok itself has various wattages to select from and an excellent range of heat. The temperature control is very precise. The wok is non-stick and cleans up easily. This is a great setup for the kitchen or for portable use. Highly recommended, especially for Amazon's low listed selling price.

Ever since I got this Nuwave Induction wok, I used it for home cooking about 95% of the time. The wok is highly programmable with quite some bells and whistles. To make life easier, I skip all the programming-related settings. I just turn it on, set the temperature to 400F, and start cooking. There are two main features that I like most about this wok. First, I can set the cooking temperature. Second, it heats up fast. The included 14-inch carbon steel wok does not have any chemical coating to make it non-sticky to food. The menu provides instructions on how to treat the wok with oil to make it non-sticky to food. It's very much like the treatment for a Dutch oven. I can tell how long I need to cook for each meal. The induction wok comes with a programmable timer that can be set to stop automatically when time is up. The wok provides 3 power settings. However, I just keep it at the 1500W setting for fast stir fry cooking. The price of the wok is on the premium side. However, I would recommend it if you want to have better control of cooking temperature and cooking time. The heat-up time is impressive and fast.

Honestly a nice little wok. I have a gas stove and a normal one as well, and this one honestly just heats up so nice. It heats up very quick just like my gas stove, but I feel like it is more even in this one. Overall it works great but you may have to season it a few times before use as mine wasn't as non stick as I would have liked.
