going from five eleven tactical side zips these boots leave a lot of room for improvement. after a few minutes of usage the side zip liner was noticeably uncomfortable even with thick socks. that liner is the least breathable portion of the boot. also my shins were getting irritated with the lacing orientation as unboxed. a simple solution would have been a (better) padded tongue. the tongue is also a made a little too low in the boots. i re-laced the very top rings and problem solved with the shin irritation. to solve the side zip liner issue, i cut them out. i did not care about the waterproofing at this point since the price and overall quality of the boots is worth that gamble for total comfort. i would still buy again since it's a lot of boot for the $ ... show more

I recently received these boots. They seem to be high quality leather and breathable nylon like material. The run true to size, and are easy to slip on thanks to the side zipper. I've worn them three times for short periods to break them in. They are comfortable so far. I'll update this review in a few months to include long term comfort and durability. Very sturdy and feels safe to wear, they are bulky so if you have a tiny gear shift peg like my 23 HD nightster then these may not be it. I am a new rider so as long as it keeps my feet safe, it's worth it

So far they have held up decently well considering considering I use them as duty boots in industrial firefighting and ems operations. My only issue is they aren’t the most comfortable in the world but a pair of insoles solved that.

Been using them for three weeks for a minimum of 4 hours a day, up to 4 days a week. I've had 5.11, Bates, and even some more generic ones. They are aesthetically pleasing, for sure. Exceptionally easy to put on and take off considering their height. My 5.11s were 5" tall and were more difficult to put on/take off even with a zipper, and the bates had no zipper, so it was just more of hassle. The weight is on par with other brand names, considering steel toe, so even if I walk with them for an entire day, I don't feel tired. The reason I rated 4/5 stars is relative comfort. While the more recognized brands I've bought typically cost more than $100, regularly priced, and I got this for almost half the price, the boots I bought were around the same price point on sale. Normally I'd rate them based on boots in it's price range, but I feel it's fair to compare to others regardless because when you're a savvy shopper looking for ways to cut costs, anything is fair game, really. ... show more

I work in a factory where I’m on my feet and climbing all day yesterday I put my new boots on to start my shift thinking I would have to switch them mid shift but I was able to keep them on all night without my feet hurting I definitely will be buying another pair

To be honest and fair, that zipper blowout in the first picture happened from a small tear catching on my bicycle while I was pedaling. You can see in the second image that it was starting to fray on my other boot as well, and may have progressed further if I wore them more. It wouldn't be unheard of to catch the zipper on something in the workplace like I did on my bike, I just wanted to be transparent 😅 Really awesome pair of boots, my initial impression was very positive. But much like the very short lived pair of boots that came before it, I could tell what was going to fail on the boots, and that it wouldn't take long for it to happen. On this pair it was the zipper. That being said they were really enjoyable until they failed, and I'm sad to see them go. I had my doubts about how waterproof this pair would be with the zipper, but these boots actually kept my feet dry better than a lot of other "waterproof" pairs. Wore these daily while cleaning a grocery store cooler floor, where lots of housing and squeegee-ing is involved and good boots are pretty darn important for comfort. I wore these with gel/foam inserts so I can't comment on how comfortable they are without those added, but they fit comfortably, and seemed alright for standing on hard surfaces for long periods. I'd say comfort was maybe 7/10. Good support, I liked that this boot was a lot higher up on the ankle. The steel toe on this boot was actually really well done as far as I could tell, I had no instances of my toes rubbing up on them. They don't seem to protrude on the inside of the boot very much. And they did shield my toes comfortably from some heavy things falling, and some heavy wheeled carts rolling into my foot, more than once. Watch out for these soles being rather slippery. Once I knew to be wary of it it wasn't a big deal but this could definitely get someone hurt if they're not careful. These soles just seemed more slippery than your average pair of boots compared to similar products. Really liked how these looked and felt, enjoyed the build quality (except for around the zipper) I might try for a different nortiv8 boot offering without a zipper and see how it works for me. If they beefed up the zipper I would say solid 4 star product for SURE. As it is now, it's a high 3 star product, maybe look at a zipper less boot from them ... show more
