Thorogoods are a great boot. I find them to be a better product than Redwings. Though they are priced equally (+-) I will choose these boots over any other brands. Comfortable, well made, good leather quality.

One year of surveying work, hiking up and down steep hills, traversing through the woods, construction work, they’ve held up really well for a boot that’s not meant for hiking. A ridiculously comfortable steel toe boot, they can be a bit heavy at times but still comparable to a composite toe. Good qu
ality, good design. Highly recommend for someone on their feet all day, clean/oil them once every couple months and they’ll stay solid.

Bought these for my son, he says they are perfect! We love that they are American made, too.

There is almost no break in period. These boots are comfortable AF. I wore them all day and half the night when I got them and had to loosen the laces to help some pressure against my ankle. But they seem to be tough as nails, don’t hold dirt/mud to the sole, and the leather is outstanding.

Good boots, sturdy, but worth the $$?

The fit is perfect, there’s no “ breaking in” period. Comfortable from the start. PRICEY though… is it worth it with the flat soles that’ll wear down in a few months…? Idk but I’ll let you know.

Bought these for my boyfriend since he got this exact pair on eBay last year and those are falling apart. He loves them. They came in great condition and obviously the first few days were uncomfortable because they had to break in but now they are great for his job.

This is the only brand boots my husband will wear for work. His previous pair he wore for 4 or 5yrs and they are still going strong. The durability and comfort are by far the best. What's great is these boots can be worn for work or pleasure.

Comfortable out of the box and good boots
Size: 10

I waited to write a review on my pair to see how the boots would feel and hold up after some wear and tear, I had bought them about 4 months ago as of writing this review. My work isn't the most physically demanding nor am I working out in the elements but I primarily service and work on various drin
k machines so I tend to deal with alot of syrup and water. The boots are not water proof but if they are properly conditioned the should not get sopping wet in a light rain or wet enviroment. The tongue of the boot is tumbled to increase comfort and reduce break in which took me about a week where was no discomfort. The leather is full grain though something i noted was the first day of use where the leather is puckered for the moc toe stitch tends to shave off when crouching. This also occurred to one of the tips of my boot which was a bit disappointing to see but I chalked it up to the boots not being conditioned enough. Overall for my line of work the boots are comfortable enough out of the box that I could wear it all day without having to switch to another pair of boots and if you are working on hard flooring like concrete the wedge sole and the insole give you enough cushioning that you won't have an issue with walking on hard ground all day. I haven't had any issues with walking on wet tiles or concrete. The safety toe did not give me any issues and there is more then enough space between the top of the steel toe and my feet to prevent toe rub. The most uncomfortable place to break in for me was the heel but that went away within the week of first wear. I wear a 10D or 10 reg in all my boots and the same in my thorogoods. To be specific the circumference of the ball of my foot is 10" and the length from the back of my heel to the longest toe is 11". My advice is to make sure that once you try your boots on and they fit well condition them to make the break in even easier and the protect the leather since you don't know how long they have sat in a warehouse. I would also suggest getting a better pair of laces with your boots because mine were flimsy and I immediately changed them out with some paracord.
