  • Good Boots for factory worker
Size: 9.5 Wide
Fit well and comfortable. Easy on and off and arent super heavy

  • Water tight, 8 1/2 i'm usually a women's 10 or 11.
Size: 8.5 Wide
I work outside in marshes and wetlands; Holds up very well to mud, water and mostly prevents your feet from being crushed vis steel toe & shank supports, while also not being very weight encumbering. I've hiked in them once already for a 2 hour session and they don't hurt my ankles or feet going down or up. Their anti-slip grip works pretty decently in muddy conditions, but once the tread fills up with debris, if you aren't careful you'll go flying. Best used on a wet hard surface i'm guessing, but hold up well for the way i've used them. Had them about a month now and worn them every day since. The outsides scratch up pretty easily, so if you're a neat freak beware of that, not a deal breaker for me though. As said in the title, I'm usually a Women's size 10. I ordered a half size up at 8 & 1/2 with the Wide selection, which i would recommend if your toe box area is larger than your ankle. I do slide a tiny bit inside the shoe if i'm not wearing thick wool socks, but not something i terribly mind with the amount of wiggle room i'm given. Good boots. ... show more

  • GREAT QUALITY BOOT... STURDY AND COMFORTABLE
Size: 8
I've had this boot for exactly (1) one year now and I wear them literally every day in the warehouse and out in the yard in gravel, dirt, rain, etc for 8-12 hours a day. No joke. This boot does not leak or allow water to get feet wet. Sturdy yet super comfortable Buy some HUBERD'S SHOE GREASE water resistant additive and apply 2-3 heavy layers before use allow to dry well between layers I'd suggest allow to dry over night for each layer. Wear the boots for several days to allow a break in. Once broken in well... enjoy Apply the Huberds shoe grease every couple months to keep them water proof and helps keep the leather soft and strong Apply the shoe grease extra heavy on the sewing thread all around the boot I've walked through puddles of water that cover the boot to ankle deep and not once has water gotten in. Remarkable boot and Remarkable product in the Huberds shoe grease. Darkens the boot a bit but totally worth it for a work boot. ... show more

  • Not as good as portrayed, but good enough
Size: 9
As an Engineer doing field work, I require a good pair of steel toe boots for walking on rough terrain, as well office work. Something good looking, but also something to be proud of to wear to work. This Ariat Groundbreaker is no exception. These boots definitely have the looks, quality leather, and stitching even your grandpa would be jealous of. The colorways and combinations offered are very eccentric and beautiful. You cannot beat a brand like Ariat for some of the best looking work boots ever. So I decided to give them a shot, after all I've heard the hoop and holler about such a brand for years. Will I say the boots are all and worth they're worth? Sure, for the price range you cannot complain. Especially for a slip on steel toe work boot. Would I recommend these to every single person on the market looking for a steel toe work boot? No. They're very easy to slip on, and fit very snug, and true to size. However, they lack in a lot of other departments. Arch support is terribly tremendous, and the insole tagged "All Day Cushioning" is surely a lie. Not only is the arch support terrible, if you suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past, consider these boots a red flag and stay clear cut away from them. Personally to make these boots fit my needs, I had to swap insoles to Dr. Scholl's and migrate over to steel toe boot socks specifically to make them even remotely comfortable. I've broken in several pairs of steel toes, and these took at least 3 months of 9+ hour days to give me even some results I was looking forward to. They seem very durable, and with cleaning can last more than your average run of the mill work boots. However, I will say I miss my lace up Wolverine steel toes that were the most comfortable things in the world to walk in. These Ariats feel very rough at the beginning, become more gentle and easy, but still have a grittiness to them. The toe box really surprised me though, its just right and arguable the best toe box I've ever experienced in a work boot. All around quality, but not as comfortable as many will claim. (They must be used to their feet in agonizing pain for 12 hours straight and enjoy it) You must fit it to your own needs. ... show more

  • 2 days/ rubber sole started to come loose
Size: 11 Wide
First off, I work in the construction industry. Concrete floors, plywood floors, ladders, muddy trenches, gravel, standing water, snow, blistering heat, everything that a "sane" person would avoid (and I am not being reimbursed by any other company for my opinions). I bought these boots after much "research" of the brand, user reviews, videos, and price comparison of competitors. The boots fit as expected, but were very snug at the toes. This particular model of boot left me feeling as if I was walking barefoot on concrete. There was no cushioning on my feet, it left my feet and knees in pain. I found myself angling my feet as I walked to avoid the pinching and shock of no cushioning. My left boot was pinching my pinky toe with the steel toe. It felt as if the left boot was a bit tighter than the right. I did not get an opportunity to see how these would break-in, because by DAY 2 of normal use on finished plywood floors and ladders, the leather started to come apart from the rubber sole (the gaps are more defined while wearing the boot, but could not get the picture while wearing them). These boots did not touch any chemicals, concrete, mud, or steam. Just some light snow in and out of the building. I have worn Timberland Pro boots for 9 years prior to this and took a chance with Ariat and was very much dissatisfied. Maybe I got a bad pair, maybe the higher grade models are better? All I know is I will never buy Ariat again. Do your feet a favor and try on a pair of Timberland Pros before you decide on your next pair. ... show more
