Top Amazon Reviews

  • NordicTrack
Style: Commercial S22i Studio Cycle
I was very reluctant to buy this item after reading all the negative Amazon reviews. Thus far, I could not be happier with this purchase. Everything works perfectly. The biggest issue was removing it from the box. The instructions were good and it was easy to assemble. I will provide an update if I have any problems. UPDATE - The incline motor developed an issue causing a clunking noise during incline and decline. Nordictrack indicated the motor needed replacement. I returned everything to Amazon within 90 days for a refund. It was a hassle. ... show more

  • great bike, vs. Peloton....depends
Style: Commercial S27i Studio Cycle
My Peloton started to break and fall apart after 7 years of constant use. Kind of disappointed in their customer service at the end when it came to trying to fix it and also trading it in (they don't) So since my wife doesn't like bikes I researched treadmills and we bought the Nordictrack x32i which is expensive but so awesome. I liked the ifit programs so much on the treadmill I decided to buy the bike too. First, let's start with what I like. The bike is super smooth and quiet. The instructors change the resistance and incline for you and you can also adjust yourself and it will auto adjust for the rest of the ride. The instructors are great. The shimano clips are sooo easy to clip in and out off and for someone who doesn't want to buy shoes, you can use the other side of the pedal with regular shoes. What I don't like The seat is very uncomfortable. I replaced it with one from Amazon for $40 that is so much better. The screen wobbles when you pedal standing up. I wish the seat went a little further back. ok, versus a Peloton. This is tricky because they are totally different experiences. Peloton's instructors are awesome but I only liked one genre of music so it did limit the classes. Having said that, ifit's indoor classes aren't as fun, although I do really like being able to play my own music. I do miss some of my favorite Peloton classes, but the variety of outdoor classes and how different the workouts are are much better with ifit. One day I'm biking up Mt. Tibadabo and the next I'm doing a road race in Puerto Rico. After 7 years with Peloton I was getting bored and doing a incline class kicks your ass in a good way. Another game changer is the built in fan. Peloton really needs that. The biggest thing I miss about Peloton is the leader board. The competitiveness did push me and I wish ifit had that. They used to, but Peloton sued them. The pedals are easier to get in and out of on the Nordictrack. If I was starting completely from scratch I really don't know which one I'd select but if you also want a treadmill the Nordictrack x32i is definitely the best and once you have an ifit subscription you can use it on all of their equipment for no additional cost. This saves me $600 a year not having to also pay the Peloton amount. ... show more

  • iFit Does Not Allow Netflix or Streaming
Style: Commercial S22i Studio Cycle
I will never buy another piece of iFit enabled NordicTrack equipment again (and we have recent iFit enabled rowing machines and bikes). It is absolute garbage that you cannot run your own apps or software on the tablet, and it is required to pay $400+/year to use the bike as intended *AFTER* you have bought the bike or other equipment). Very short sighted of NordicTrack leadership. ... show more

  • Absolutely Garbage
Style: Commercial S22i Studio Cycle
Purchased one direct from NordicTrack about a year ago. Debated months between Peloton and S22i, and a friend who owns a NT treadmill put me over on buying this. I regret it more than you can imagine. First off, the handling of the machine and building it are horrible. The bike is shipped about 60% assembled, so it is both heavy as hell to move, but still requires substantial wrestling around to finish assembling. The design also requires the seat and handlebars/screen to use a friction-lock screw, not something with a physical hard connection, meaning if things get even the least bit loose bad things can occur. Second, the UI is completely worthless and made of poor materials. We'll start by saying for a "smart" bike this thing is dumb as rocks. In 11 months of ownership, it's required 3 cache clearances to even operate correctly, which has required calls to NT support to assist with. The screen makes up it's own preferences, including now mysteriously requiring multiple taps to respond to inputs. When the UI works at all, it's a mess. It doesn't keep your next programmed workout at the top, instead it just throws random junk all over so you're not staying on program. I don't care about NT's medal and challenge BS; I want to work the program I selected to join. If you get into a workout, then more issues crop up. The system tries to replicate Peloton's data collection, but shoves it in side scroll options at the top of the screen. Combined with the UI input issues above, it makes a lot of data just worthless background junk. Inputs you would like, such as heartrate and caloric burn are absent, because THE MACHINE DOESN'T CAPTURE IT. Not without going out and spending more money on the aftermarket, proprietary monitor. Want to use your Apple Watch? Tough. There's no interface for it anywhere. Completing a workout is all well and good, but progress tracking is a joke. There's really nothing that assists in monitoring any of the aforementioned data over time. I can't even find a way to compare the same workout done two weeks apart to try and benchmark. Ultimately this sits next to my Tonal weight machine, and Tonal makes this thing look like the cheapest, most poorly designed thing since the Pontiac Aztec. If not for the fact I dumped $2k into this thing I can never hope to sell it for, I'd have gotten rid of it months ago in favor of a Peloton. Do yourself a favor and skip this dumpster fire. ... show more

  • What a ripoff .......
Style: Commercial S22i Studio Cycle
Probably the worst big purchase of my 66 years -- the bike is ok (though not worth $2K) BUT the real issue is that the s22 is like the proverbial razor marketing approach. Sell a $2 razor and then continue to make money by selling $1 razor blades. Except with NordicTrack it is a $2000 razor and the yearly razor cost is about $400. The documentation says that the bike comes with a bunch of free video workouts - that is not correct. If you do not pay the annual $400 for ifit -- you get a bike that gives you a black and white oval that you ride around - and BASIC metrics e.g. miles ridden, speed, etc. If you are looking for a good exercise bike -- stay away from NordicTrack and iFit. ... show more
