  • Image quality is superb
This is my first experience with a projector, and I give it a 4.8 out of 5 overall. After 3+ weeks of consistent use the image quality is still surprising to me. I have used it on a vaulted ceiling so that it feels like a movie theater and on a 100-inch projector screen. In both cases it has performed better than I expected. The only issue I have come across is that the image doesn't quite square up as well as it could. I have moved it a few times and each time I have adjusted the image to square it up, where the automatic cornerstone setting was a bit off. I have synced the Fire Stick directedly to my bluetooth speaker to get around the issue with bluetooth not working while a hdmi device is plugged in, so I don't consider that an issue at all. I look forward to using it outside in the spring. ... show more

  • Avoid
9 months in and this is a projector I have really enjoyed overall. It has major issues with my xbox series x and refresh rates despite various cables but other than that it's a vut slow to pickup resolution changes and at 4k there is a noise that's generally audible but not a deal breaker. That was until 2 days ago when it just shut down mid movie. It now powers on to a red/green alternating led indicating light source issue. I am within warranty and their site is terrible for warranty support. To register the warranty they want an order id but can't use an amazon order id and the field can't be blank. Alternative is to email them. No word back in 2 days. I would not remotely recommend guven the lack of service or communication and it's a shame as I really enjoyed their product and would like it fixed. No parts or other info online to allow repairs locally if you wanted. Good luck if you decide to purchase. ... show more

  • Good, but lacks audio out and usb c features
The Good: Larger 0.65 inch chip is notible in producing better contrast. Image is good at lower brightness modes. Form factor is great for room to room entertainement, love the handle. Boot up time is short and gaming experience was smooth. Built in sound is good for a two channel. The Cons: No direct audio output for any surround sound or wired headphones. Bluetooth out does not feature low latencyy audio so lips will be out of sync if using bluetooth headphones. The bluetooth out only works for casting. If you dont want to use the decent built in speakers because you either want surround sound or need headphones your best option is to directly plug in audio to your hdmi source (streaming box/game console). The usb c port is incompatible with Samsumg dex and i could not even use it as a mirror device for my phone through USB C. Only mirrors through casting. The wifi signal is 5 ghz only and not dual band so you will need to keep it closer to a wifi router for a signal, cant use it for casting a few walls away from the router. The lack of ethernet is not an issue since you wont be using the projector itself to stream anything. Lastly the advertised brightness, is not color brightness so if you want to run the unit at a higher brightness, color will apear washed out. This is only a issue with ambient light so if using it in a dark room and with a lower brightness it looks amazing. Overall: I think its a good projector, butthe lack of audio out options and functionality of the usb c port hurt the overall score. ... show more

  • Frustrating experience
Using an XGMI Horizon 1080 projector as our main TV at home, I decided to upgrade to a 4K projector. Thus, this review is a comparison to our year-and-a-half-old Horizon. Firstly, I was impressed by the design of the P1000. It's original and feels well-made. The remote, however, isn't as premium as the one with the Horizon. A notable flaw is the connectivity—having only one HDMI port is limiting, though not a deal-breaker. The sound quality is good, albeit not as punchy as the Horizon. Where the P1000 truly excels is in its image quality in dark environments. The visuals are pure and astonishing, making watching 4K movies a real joy. The colors are warm, accurate, and cinema-like, with better contrast than the Horizon. In this regard, the P1000 outshines the Horizon. However, beyond the impressive image quality in the dark, the rest of the experience is frustrating: Auto Focus: The autofocus is terrible. Unlike the Horizon's excellent autofocus, the P1000 requires manual adjustment every time it's turned on. Keystone Correction: The keystone adjustment is complicated and frustrating. Unless the projector is placed directly in front of the wall on a coffee table, expect to spend a good hour trying to square up the image. Even then, it's challenging to get a perfect fit. The Horizon, on the other hand, automatically adjusts perfectly whether it's on a low shelf, high shelf, or table. Daylight Clarity: The clarity in daylight is really poor. Despite spending hours trying to match the Horizon's performance, the P1000 simply can't compete. Although its specs indicate a brighter light, in reality, it’s much less bright with washed-out colors in daylight. I haven't tested gaming, which I assume would be good, but it's not a priority for me. In conclusion, while the P1000's image quality in a dark room is mind-blowing, the multitude of frustrations elsewhere makes it hard to overlook. This projector should offer smarter features like better keystone correction, improved autofocus, and significantly better clarity in daylight conditions. ... show more

  • Good projector for my situation
Not a lot of projector options for a 120" screen and a 7' throw. I think I only found one other. An ultra short throw wouldn't work for me. It's pretty bright but I knew that it was going to be a little dim in my room during the afternoon. I mostly watch at night but it also works for Saturday morning cartoons or on a cloudy day. The auto focusing isn't great and the auto keystone sometimes isn't great. More inputs and outputs would have been nice, but I'm not going to complain because it's a great projector for the price. ... show more
