    • Well Designed and sturdy
This travel alarm is replacing one that let me down one time too many. This one is solidly built, but incredibly compact. It even shows the temperature (although I can't judge the accuracy there, it's too new and I haven't used it enough to judge.) It's easy to set the time and clock features AND the alarm times AND clearly displays when the alarm is on or not. I love that it has the option of 12 or 24 hour time settings. As for the reviewer that requested colors so it won't blend in to the background and get left behind, I suggest applying some bright tape or something. However, they have a good idea: why not make it colored so it's easier to find and pack. A little luminescence would even be nice when trying to find this in the dark to see what time it is. But overall, and excellently designed and made little travel alarm. I also like that there's no noise made when you press the button to light the display. ... show more

Although it is not very loud, this alarm is far more sophisticated than I expected for the price. I had a small Sharp brand alarm as a back up for my ancient clock radio. It never kept good time. This new one keeps good time and is easy to set. The four stars are for the not very loud alarm. It is PERFECT except for that. ... show more

I’m a correctional officer who works graveyards, I use this clock daily. It sits on my desk to make logbook entries easier. The alarm is perfect not too loud, the light is bright enough to be able to see, but not people sleeping. Has a large LCD screen, even after losing the instructions I was able to set the clock and adjust the time with ease. it goes between 24 hour and 12 hours with the push button. Excellent customer service from Noklead. I ran into an issue after using my clock after 8 months. I thought it was the battery so I replaced it. It did not resolve the issue. I emailed Noklead and explained my situation. In a matter of days, a customer service rep. contacted me and sent a replacement ALONG WITH AN EXTRA BATTERY TO REPLACE THE ONE I HAD BOUGHT WHEN I TRIED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I haven't received this type of efficient service from a vendor in a LOOOOOONNNNG time. I will not hesitate to make more purchases from this company knowing that they take pride in what they do.     • Easy to use, durable alarm clock - but with serious battery and display issues
The display is nice and large and easy to read, plus it is pretty straightforward to set the time and alarm. It feels pretty durable and the buttons are pretty positive. It shows the time, the temperature, month, date, day of the week, and alarm time. The temperature switches from Fahrenheit to Celsius with the push of a button. Likewise, it's easy to toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour format. If you press the large alarm button, a blue back light comes on. The bad news is that the display is nearly unreadable at night, its tiny battery lasts only about two months, and it drains the battery faster when folded up for travel. To be more specific, the illumination of the display is from the top rather than from the back which, for this type of display, means that you can't read it from the front at night. In a dark room with the display backlight on, you have to pick up the clock and tilt it so that you are looking down at the display from the top of the clock or else the display appears blank. This is a poor design and a pain. A backlight on an LCD must actually come from the back or you end up with this issue. The other thing I don't like about it is that the tiny button battery only lasts about 2 months. Worse, when the battery is too low to properly operate the clock, there is no indication that you need to replace the battery. The display looks strong and the backlight is not dim - but when the alarm tries to sound, it doesn't because with a low battery, it can't run both the alarm and the clock. Instead, it silently resets and loses the time. Due to this "feature" more than any other, I'm junking this clock and getting another. To make matters worse, when you fold up this clock for travel, the little bump on the red alarm button (that makes the button easy to find at night) sticks out enough that the lid depresses it. Because of this, the backlight turns on and stays on while it is closed for travel. This means that the LED backlight is running the battery down at a much higher rate the entire time that you are traveling. That is another deal-breaker "feature" for me. This may be part of the reason the battery only lasted a couple of months. A lot of good work went into making this clock easy to use, but it needs a lot more work to make it practical.
