I was skeptical having had one of the first versions of the instant pot airfryer add-on top. It had to preheat, could fit little food and things weren’t any crispier than I could get in my oven. That is not the case with this Ninja! Things I wish I knew; requires no pre-heat. Starts cooking right away. Food gets crispy just like a real fryer. Yes, you can taste the difference because you use so much less oil, but it still tastes great. Fast cooking time! Noise level as expected. Quieter than my oven. Cool down lasts only 30 seconds or so then the fan turns off. For everyone out there wondering how well it works on Dino nuggets 10 mins total from frozen to crispy. Also, 10 mins total for home made raw chicken nuggets to done and crispy. I have the thermometer version and tested out a fairly thick NY Steak. 15 mins to internal temp of 125 degrees. (See pic. I consider the pic medium not medium rare according to instructions). Was it good? Yes. Do I like it from the bbq or other cooking method better? Yes, but I definitely wouldn’t turn it down. Bacon? Not so much. It curled up on itself and all the fat drained off. I prefer old oven method where it basically fries in its own fat. But if you are looking for way less fat bacon (dry) then this method is for you. Basket/drawer is coated metal (handle is plastic), tray is coated metal. Both are extremely nonstick and clean easily. I bought this Ninja in November of last year as a gift to myself. I wanted a more modern one, since I previously had one, but it was too big and took up a lot of counter space. This one is more compact and I have plenty of space. It has two cooking sizes, which saves me time since I can cook two different things at the same time. It's very practical and easy to use. This is my 4th air fryer and also the best. I bought the dz550 with the thermometer and believe me, its the best. I cooked a couple of steaks using the thermometer and it was done so fast and was perfect. If I didnt have the thermometer I, no doubt, would have cooked it longer and probably ruined it. I have also cooked eggrolls in it, which I have tried before in other air fryer and failed. This one made them perfectly crisp. The size is perfect for where I was putting it but may be big for a counter top. The air fryer I had before this one was actually bigger so this one is much better in size. It's done all of them extremely well, ESPECIALLY the chicken wings (which was my main reason for buying it). This Air Fryer has been a game changer in my kitchen. The two independent baskets are incredibly convenient. Being able to cook two different foods at the same time and have them finish together is a feature I didn’t know I needed until now. The size is perfect for family meals or when hosting, and it consistently delivers evenly cooked food without the grease of normal frying. That said, this thing is big. It takes up a significant amount of counter space and isn’t the easiest to move around. Also, it does come with a bit of a learning curve at first.
