Works as described! Very easy assembly. I am tall and have big feet(size 11 women’s) I have to put my foot a little over the top edge of the pedal so it doesn’t put so much strain on my ankle. It has decent tension but you can add resistance bands to increase the tension. Very compact for easy storage as well. I was on it for approximately 3 mins and I was feeling the burn and my heart rate was up. So I think it will be a good workout. Easy to use while watching TV and working from home, etc. much cheaper than a stair master. My 10 year old is comfortable using it as well.

This thing provides a fabulous cardio workout that will have your legs screaming for you to stop. It weighs about 30 lbs and folds flat for storage. I bought it to compliment the rower’s workout. I set it against the wall, right behind the rower for storage. Easy peasy to grab and set up for a workout. One reviewer complained about its lack of resistance. Do not worry. This thing will kick your butt!! The different pedal positions do make a difference, as well. I workout til it says 1,000 on the screen. It takes me 20 minutes-ish, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. I do most of it without touching the hand rail to maximize the core muscles involvement. I am absolutely beat at the end. It is slowly getting a little easier. My workout partner is pretty tough and 28 years younger than me and she struggles, as well. We do the same workouts. I am 58 years old, female, 5’11” tall, and 150 lbs for reference. I can do chin-ups and I workout with weights, too, but this thing made me hurt the most. Lol. I bought mine on sale for $99.99. Worth every penny! No buyer’s remorse whatsoever. It’s simple, pretty quiet, easy on your joints, doesn’t need electricity, easy to store, and provides a butt-kicking cardio workout.

It literally has zero resistance other than a band keeping the two steps "together". I got a better workout in the 5 minutes it took to setup (A+ - super easy) than i would in an hour of thrashing on this cheap piece of metal garbage Update: I appreciate the review mentioning it works if you use a resistance band over your legs in conjunction. I'll try that. But for what I paid, they need to include that and not send me 6 metal poles spray painted black. No resistance...not a little or some, none. This is as straining as lying on your back and doing a bicycle motion in the air with your legs. If you want to save $1500+ on a stairmaster, do that instead of buying this

Good little machine, if you are short it may be difficult to use, i’m 5’8” and it feels like its meant for a taller person, it could use some stoppers so i don't feel like I'm doing the splits sometimes, the foot pad could be longer to support the heel and at an inclined angle rather than flat and for that reason it can be tough on the knees. Im a size 10 1/2 foot and the foot pedal drops off just before my heel so its not very supportive in that respect. So its made for a very tall person with small feet. If they put in stoppers and a full size foot plate that you could angle correctly this would be an awesome buy.

It is sturdy. Easy to assemble alone. Should fit under the bed if you fold it up. And it is quiet enough (I'm an upstairs neighbor), you really can't hear it if you have a fan going. I do have it on carpet but didn't notice a difference on my hard flooring. Noise was my main concern when purchasing. I'm out of shape so I don't know about "workout quality". But it seems good to me, I'm huffing and puffing after 30 min. If you're worried about resistance just get some bands or ankle weights? I have an old ankle injury and the impact of running makes it collapse; with this I haven't had an issue. I did expect it to hurt my knees but it glides smoothly and so far it has been great.
