Disappointed. Was looking forward to receive and set up for my work excepted it didn’t matched my request order: N E W. It is used one. It has scratch on the device and it has dirt spot inside box indicates that it is U S E D. I wanted and preferred. N E W one that I paid a lot of money for!!! I can’t say about product functionality itself since I didn’t even try. I’m returning it and reorder and give it another chance. I hate this thing. It's totally frustrating. I get it working and recording and I can view videos, than I forget about it. But when I call it up, there are no videos and it wants me to re-pair. Screw it. I've done that 3 times now and here it is again with no videos and wants me to pair again. All it is is an obstruction of view in my way. I spent $300 to have it professionally installed so that there are no wires. It looks great but was a total waste of money. ... show more

Edit: for some reason Nexar trims videos and I can’t view full videos, only partial. It’s very frustrating. This is my second Nexar dash cam, so I have a bit of experience with this brand. Pros: This camera brand is extremely user friendly, and easy to set up in less than 5 minutes. I enjoy that all the recordings go to the free app, instead of just a memory card. The image quality is crystal clear as well. Cons: the life span of my first Nexar camera was a little over one year. So be prepared that you may need to replace the camera eventually. I will edit my review in one year if this new camera holds up. ... show more

    • Not everything needs to be "smart"

I thought NEXAR would be a great dash cam because of how it works well with an iPhone. However, I didn't realize that it was completely dependent on your phone to do anything. When Nexar works, it's super cool, but getting it to work makes it not worth it. Let me explain: In order for the camera to record, it needs to be connected to your phone via a wifi connection. Why this is necessary and it can't just start recording when it receives power? I have no idea. This leads to a few problems. First, if I don't have my phone on me, the dash cam is no more than a brick attached to my windshield. Next, if for some reason my phone doesn't pickup the camera's wifi signal automatically, the camera will just never record and there will be no indication of that. I've had drives where halfway through I realize the camera isn't recording and need to start it manually. Imagine someone hitting you where you needed your video proof for insurance and the camera was on but just not recording. This is unacceptable to me. The next problem is when the camera is connected to my phone, my phone might never disconnect after the drive. My car is parked about 1 room away from where my bedroom is. Some nights, I would get home and start streaming on my phone and realize hours later that my phone is on 5G instead of wifi. This is because it never disconnected from the camera. So while my dash cam is still in my car recording nothing and wasting space, I'm wasting my expensive phone data because I wasn't far enough to disconnect automatically. These are all problems a dash cam should never have. The small features that nexar brings over standard dash cams (GPS map, decent looking app, notifications) are in no way worth all the hassle this camera comes with. I returned mine after about a week of use realizing that it's just not a well thought out product. I got a Rexing dash cam which, at half the cost, is way more reliable and records each drive without the need for an iPhone app. The app should be optional, not a requirement for the basic functions of the camera. The icy roads in Texas and massive car pileup made me so anxious. I like to think I’m a wonderful driver, but I can’t control everyone else’s vehicles... so I decided “as an extra layer of protection on the road, I’ll buy a dash cam.” I did some research and decided Nexar was the product I wanted. Shipping was fast. Setup is *very* simple; practically everything is done in the app on your phone - just need to make sure the camera is plugged into the power supply and that it’s connected to the app. The camera quality is said to be 1080p. The ads make it seem like you’re going to get crystal clear picture quality and that’s not quite the case. The picture quality is not as sharp as the advertisements, but you can still make out most details (can’t read license plates, but you can make out just about anything else). I do really enjoy that the picture quality is still as good at night as it is during the day. I *highly* recommend buying some heavy duty double-sided mounting tape though. The camera does not suction well to the window AT ALL. Outside of that, I’d recommend this as a good purchase! I managed to convince a friend of mine to buy one, and she loves it! ... show more

When I first got the camera, it was pretty good however, the floss begin the show up soon after and I mean very soon. Sudden Glitches The recording quality can be very terrible one time I was driving on interstate 19 and the camera decides to glitch out half the time and it’s not like a couple seconds. It’s like a couple minutes that was glitching. 🔼 and when I went to record at the time the new 6th St., Bridge in downtown Los Angeles as soon as I went in the bridge, it decided to glitch when I come back One year later to drive on the bridge, the video glitched out again. The camera can skip Frames When my drives are longer than a minute, the video can start skipping frames, which is really concerning because if this wasn’t an accident, I would have no way of knowing who is at fault for the accident And the dash cam would not help at all. God awful audio I don’t know what to say To describe the horrible audio The dash cam recording quality at the very least it’s garbled. The quality of camera is like having a phone from 2008 but even more inconvenient. Side note: I wish that the camera would save onto the SD card as a recording because when I do go to the website to grab a recording of my drive, it’s only available in snippets of 10 seconds and I much rather have one large file At the end of the day, the camera can be good. It does record fairly good nighttime recording and also the video quality Of the camera when it works it is Very clear minus the audio And I like the fact that I get unlimited cloud storage, however I’m thinking of getting another dash cam because this did not satisfy my expectations. ... show more
