Odor Free The Nevink dog waste trash can is made of steel. Unlike plastic, steel is not porous and keeps the smell shielded inside. This dog poop trash can odor control also has brackets under the lid to hold odor absorbing, charcoal filters. Each filter has ~2-month life and each dog poop bin is shipped with 3-filters. Replacement filters for Nevink can be bought on Amazon. Perfect Size The 12-liter or 3.2-gallon capacity waste bin truly is the perfect size. A 5-liter can is too small and will have to be dumped more than once a week. A 20-Liter can is too large and isn't as visually appealing. This replaces a cheap plastic covered waste can which was collecting rainwater and falling apart. It is solidly built, convenient to empty (I've been using kitchen-size garbage bags to line it but will probably purchase smaller ones), and doesn't let in the rain. Others have said the included odor filters don't really do anything, but this was not a factor for me, as I keep it outside my sunporch and don't notice any odor anyway. It’s metal. It is a nice looking unit. Keep in mind it only uses 4 gallons bags so if you are looking for something large this is not it, 4 gallons is a little larger than a standard desk trash can. Honestly do you really want to be carrying a bigger trash bag than that out to the dumpster? It has a foot lever to open the lid. That doesn’t work, if you open the lid by hand it will hold open the lid but will not open it on its own. Special note, it probably will if you don’t attach the carbon filter. Ok, so in theory the carbon filter is a good idea. In north Alabama it isn’t a very good idea. As the bucket gets warm the water in the poo (using my Joe Dirt voice) evaporates and in the nicely sealed bucket condenses in the filter. Sounds gross, well mostly it’s not, till you try to get the pail out holding the bag and the filter is dripping poo water on your hands. Everything is a nice precision fit, awesome, but now I have to jiggle things a little and, yep poo rain keeps falling on my hands…. Buy latex gloves 😂. Or when pulling the old bag use the new bag as a glove that goes up to your elbow. In all it really does help keep the flies down.     • Overpriced but Nice
This was an expensive little trash can but I am happy with it. It definitely helps for my purposes; I live in one story apartment complex and I'm disabled so I wanted someplace to throw away my doggie bags without having to walk all the way to the dumpster every time I walked my dog but also something that was aesthetically pleasing. It's not as cute as I wanted, honestly after you put the right-sized trash bag in it, it looks like any other little trash can. I think I could have bought something from Walmart that might have worked just as well, but this is made to be an outdoor trash can so maybe the price will be worth it in the long run? We have a small patio setup for our dog to do her business and this can is perfect for that. I had tried using a small 2 gallon plastic Lowes paint bucket but it just smelled awful after a while. This can keeps the odors down with the carbon filters. It’s expensive but it’s the tidy and best option I’ve seen to use outdoors for us.     • Not Bad Step Can
This is a decent step can that is a really good size for its intended use. The main can is made of metal, but the metal is quite thin. I was thinking it would be a thicker metal, making the can heavier and less prone to tipping over, but it's really light. The lid just sits on itself, there isn't a lip or rim or something that the lid really rests in to sort of secure it. The lid does sort of close over the lip of the inner plastic bin, but it doesn't really "seal". I would have preferred a heavier metal can with a lid that used its weight to close more securely, but overall it's not a bad can. Received this trash can the other day. It looked nice and what I wanted for outdoors. Now disappointed with it. The step to open the lid does not work. Tried to see if I could fix it but to no avail. Have to open the lid by hand. The step looks like piece of tin attached to the rest of the can. It definitely not worth the price I paid for it. ... show more
