I had the previous version of this one, and the plastic tabs that open and close it broke so easily. They’ve undated it with sturdier metal tabs and now it opens and closes much easier. Don’t just try to man handle it without reading the directions on how to open and close it. It’s sturdier than before, but I’m sure they can still break if you’re trying to force it without knowing how they work! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It’s a great product but it’s very difficult to disassemble. I actually had such a tough time breaking it down that one of the black release buttons broke and now the umbrella is permanently stuck open in one area. It sucks because it came in a nice carrying case that I can no longer use. I would suggest buying it but there must be an easier way to release the umbrella to avoid this because there is no fixing the one I have. 👎🏾 I can’t give it five starts because of this problem. Overall, it’s a great umbrella to buy but it’s very difficult to breakdown! It arrived on time and was exactly what I was looking to use for my photography. ... show more

My first impression is that this softbox is very good quality. The rods, bracket and umbrella material are all professional grade. I would say this is not a quick and easy set-up for travel, not like your basic umbrella that you can quickly expand and it is on the heavy side (also speaks to its sturdiness). I wish it came with a small instruction booklet. It takes a little bit of "humph" to get the rods in place, but I guess it is a good sign that they are tight. After the first disassembly several of the rods are bent, so I hope they don't break after regular use and I hope you can buy more if they do. I think best thing about it and reason I purchased are the 3 (or maybe 4?) stages of diffusion: light hits the beauty dish, then the back interior of umbrella which is white (not silver), then the middle white diffuser layer and lastly the outer white diffuser. Basically eliminating any hot spot. I bought a bowens mount separately to attached to a yongnuo speed light (pictured). Wish it had a grid, but it's pretty good value as it is. Hope to add a headshot picture to show the light spread soon. ... show more

So i purchased this softbox to replace my old set up. I went cheap the first time around and it didn't last long. Bad mistake on my part. So second time around i came upon this model and it looked good so decided to try it. Boy am i glad i did.. I have used it twice since it arrived in the mail and i can't believe i didn't buy this one the first time. It would have saved money and time. it is fantastic.. ok enough of me gooshing over this thing... here's the nitty gritty.. i am not a professional photographer.. i take pics for fun or for my small business... i needed something easy to set up and down and store or pack to go with no fuss.. the carrying case is a great life saver... so the use of the item.. the material is of great quality. much better then the first one i purchased... it feels very durable.. i tend to drop things so the quality of this seems compatible with my butterfingers.. LOL.. I haven't used the different accessories yet as i haven't a need to use them yet.. but they seems to be easily attached and set up. So this is a great find and i am glad i decided to purchase this model. ... show more
