We had to move across country in the US a week ago, so we bought this carrier for our rescue cat who hates enclosed spaces and cat carriers. She typically fights like crazy to not be put into her smaller carrier when we have to take her to the vet, and we knew we needed something much bigger so she’d be comfortable on our many hours trip. I told my partner multiple times that I’d be leaving a great review about this carrier as we drove, and you’ll see why below. First of all, this carrier is huge, so be sure to measure your back seat. Secondly, it is so, so sturdy. Octavia is a 16 lbs cat and had lots of room to walk around in it. We could fit a blanket and a small litter box in there for her, thought I don’t recommend the litter box remaining in there. That was a mistake. She was able to stretch out and watch the road as we drove, which was a good distraction for awhile. My review is primarily about the sturdiness of this carrier. After the kitty sedative wore off, Octavia was extra angry about being enclosed for hours. She started to try to get out by repeatedly clawing at the mesh and pressing her face and body hard on it. She would take a break for awhile and try again every so often. That was distressing to watch but did not at all affect the integrity of it in any way. The mesh used on the entrances to the carrier is so damned sturdy but is also not overly stiff. It didn’t hurt her as she tried to get out but just held up to her onslaught. She wasn’t able to rip it or even slightly damage it in any way. I also love the zippers on this item. They’re easy to open and close but are the kind that do not move from the position you leave them in until you grasp the zipper tab to close or open it further. This means that if you unzip one side a little way and stick your hand inside, the zipper will not move from the position you left it in. Your cat or dog will not be able to get out if they press their face or paw on the opening because it will not move until you zip it closed or open it further. Amazing. Our other smaller carrier has the typical zipper and you have to be super careful when opening it. At one point Octavia decided to curl up in one corner of the carrier. Because of the way she was situated in the car, that meant the weight of her body in the carrier was pressing onto the corner as she kind of hung over on one side. That carrier held her like a champ. As for the litter, it kind of got everywhere after awhile, so don’t do that. However, I was able to clean it so easily and it looks like it did when we first took it out of the package. No stains, rips, scratches, dents, marks, pilling, loose threads… no issues at all. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this to everyone. Look no further if you need a huge, extremely well made carrier for your pet.

I used this carrier for a cross-country move with my cat. I left it open for her to get used to for about 2 weeks before the move. She loved it, and would play and sleep in it. She likes the material that is on the bottom. I like how there is access from the front or side. This allowed me to keep the side open when I was driving so she could get out and use the litter box or sit there and watch. Closed it when I would stop and get out of the car. Positives: nice and large, screen cover on side with Velcro to keep it up. Velcro for mesh doors to be tucked out of the way when open. Lightweight, easy to move around with foldable. Breathable fabric. Nice to have for the car. Cons: I wish that there was a cover flap for the front. During more stressful times like when stopping for gas it would have been more comforting for her if she had both doors covered. I wish the removable pad was hard or had a hard insert for the bottom. The first time I picked the carrier up with my cat in it was to move from the car to hotel... it’s like it all collapsed and she looked like she was in a sack (breathable one). It worked I guess but kind of stressed her out. My veterinarian actually said you can bring your cat into the clinic in a pillowcase because it is breathable and they actually like it.... So since this fabric is breathable maybe that is okay for some people. I didn’t like that part. Would much prefer a hard bottom. This carrier is nice stationary but I wouldn’t recommend if you need a carrier to pick them up and move with them. Another option is to have a smaller hard carrier with you. Overall it is worth it to me because it’s perfect for car trips and at the house she likes to sit and sleep in it. Another thing to note: some cats could probably rip through the material because it is not thick. Luckily my cat didn’t try that...

Bought the carrier + the litter box and love it! My cat loves it too! Overall: Plenty of space, super lightweight, but real durable. It fit in the backseat of my sedan. Cat likes it a lot. 5/5 really pleased. There's enough space in the carrier for the cat in his cat bed next to the litter box. Opi has not used the litter box while in the carrier and I don't think he will. So, I fill the whole carrier with Opi's favorite blanket and he snuggles in for the ride! The litter box is still a good addition for a travel litter box because it folds up and is easy to clean. I like the side flap because it is easy to check on him, but can be closed off so it's dark for him to sleep. I had only thought of the carrier as holding him during car rides, but it is a great "safe space" for him when we are in new places. It was great for him to have a big, cozy space to hide in while we were in the hotel. He loves snoozing in there! Whenever I leave it out in the apartment he goes and hangs out in there. Cons: The carrier is tricky to fold/twist back to a small shape for storage. It's doable, just tricky at first. The litter box is pretty small, so my cat kicks litter out of it sometimes.

This was great when I had to drive my cat cross country. She had plenty of room to move around and sleep. I added a lined shoebox for her litter box and her arched cat scratcher tunnel for privacy. It was also useful for keeping her contained when we stopped at my brother’s house for a night to break up the drive.
