THIS IS THE NON-CITRUS FLAVORED -- I just noticed that this is available in Citrus Flavor (do an amazon search), I would defiantly be purchasing the citrus flavor next time. Just a regular guy's review... It took a few days to start feeling better. I'm anemic and just got tired of being tired. I've drank Ensure and it is tasty, but doesn't have the trace minerals or a fraction of the % of vitamins, etc that you find in Alive! I compared several products and for amount of ingredients and modest cost it's a winner. Regardless of comments, I didn't get a 'wow' energy boost overnight. Taste Tip: When I first got it I tried to mix it with Kool-Aid, and other drinks to improve the flavor. Honestly, the best way to take it is fill a glass with 4-5oz of water, stir in a capful and just chug it fast (mixing in about 5 dashes of Louisiana/Texas Pete/ or Tabasco sauce really cuts down on the ick taste). Quick, painless and only a few seconds of aftertaste. Trying to drink this with a big glass of water or mixing it with anything just makes it horrid. Really Boosting Energy: What I do is drink a can of Java Monster (mean bean) with my lunch to give me that 'wow' energy boost. I like Java Monster (mean bean) because it doesn't have a ton of caffeine to give you the jitters and unlike other 'energy drinks' does have vitamins and many of the ingredients that you will find in Alive! With this combo my energy has really increased I feel better and can't believe that the black bags under my eyes are finally going away. Without the wake-up-tiredness I've also cut down to about 1 cup of coffee in the morning to maybe once or twice a week. CONS: The bottle needs a cap that lets you squirt out exactly 1 oz of liquid at a time. Pouring a capful or pouring into another container gets the cap & fridge messy after a few times. ... show more

Upon opening seeing and smelling this product. I did not expect it to taste even halfway decent. I purchased this for my daughter and she wouldn't open her mouth to say no but shook her head laughingwhile backing away. I decided I'll be brave and try it 1st. I threw it to the back of my throat and quickly swallowed. I froze for a moment expecting to gag and run to rinse my mouth out. NOPE, NONE OF THAT ACTUALLY HAPPEND. I was shocked. It wasn't disgusting but ok. I could taste a hint of grape flavor which made it taste more like NyQuil mixed with an equal taste of this green powder I mix in my smoothies that taste really bad if you use too much. Anyway, after seeing my lack of reaction, my 13 yo daughter took a cap and downed it. She was also pleasantly surprised. My 19 yo on the other hand, provided a closer response to what I was expecting to give. Though she thought it tasted horrible and refused to ever drink it again, she didn't gag, spit, vomit or run to run to rinse her mouth out. Very much so worth it!!!!     • My first liquid vitamin experience
I ordered this after reading "You on a Diet" and I noticed so many people raving about liquid vitamins. I have never been able to take the large vitamins and the gummies don't pack the punch I need. I'm on day 5 of taking this, and I'll have to come back and do a more thorough review after 30 days, but here is my experience thus far: Taste: It's not delicious by a long shot, but it's not Robotussin horrible either. I would say the citrus version tastes like the concentrated orange juice in a can in the freezer aisle, with undertones of a crushed vitamin pill. It's really very sweet to me, and the syrupy texture really coats the inside of your mouth, so having a chaser or something to eat right afterwards to cleanse your palate is important. I heard people say take it like a shot of whiskey, and I agree. Do not sip this. This is not something to savor. I will note that they did do a great job masking the bitter flavors of the ingredients. When I read that there was garlic included in the ingredients I was worried that I just wasted $20, because a lot of green drinks or supplements that include garlic I can't stomach. They not only smell bad, but cause hours of garlic flavored burps. This however has not given me any of those side effects, nor can I smell or taste the garlic when I take it. I actually don't feel like I can taste any of the green ingredients, just the over powering citrus flavor, and the vitamin taste/smell is still very present. Effects: On the first 3 days I had a serious noticeable boost in my energy. I had the biggest boost one morning when I took it on an empty stomach. On day 4 and 5 I noticed a "detoxing effect", however it was not severe or painful. My skin tone is much clearer, and more vibrant, I really look forward to the long term changes ahead. I still feel the boost, not as noticeably, normally I look up and think, "Wow, I'm moving really fast." I have never felt this way with other vitamins, and it made me double check the ingredients, to make sure I wasn't drinking 5 hour energy or something. I am completely sold on the liquid vitamin concept now, even if I change brands in hopes for a better flavor. Updates: 12/29/15 I could not finish the bottle. The taste made me dread taking it everyday, to the point I was nearly gagging before taking it. I couldn't get over that hurdle, even though I did notice positive change in my skin, and energy levels. Currently I'm trying the MaryRuth liquid vitamins which are almost 4 times more expensive, but the flavor is MUCH more subtle, and I need something I can actually take. I really tried, I really wanted it to work out, but my gag reflex wasn't having it. I'm leaving it at 4 stars because it is good stuff, it just takes a stronger tongue than mine to stomach this. ... show more

Having taken all kinds of supplements for the last 36 years of my life, I rate this one as an excellent product. In spite of taking numerous supplements already for years, I still felt that something was missing. Once I started on Nature's Way Alive Liquid Multi, I experienced an unexpected result: I started feeling much more clear-minded, much sharper, as if my brain had been woken up. And it was NOT in a stimulating kind of way like for example caffeine would do. It was a mental sharpness in a calm kind of way, it is hard to explain. Another unexpected effect was that my skin started looking much smoother. Of course, with this many ingredients, I have no idea which ones are causing the noticeable benefits, but in the end all that matters is that I can actually feel a big difference. I also noticed that I wake up in the morning without that tired "dragging myself out of bed" feeling that had haunted me for years. This may be one of the most noticeable effects for me: The fact that I can now get out of bed easily and feel rested and alert, without having to gulp down my coffee first. I put the 1 OZ. of liquid and measure it in a small glass shot-glass that has measurements markings on it, so that I know exactly how much I pour. I then drink it quickly straight out of the shot-glass and I must say, the taste does not bother me at all. I had tasted that kind of "background" or "base" taste before in a L-Carnitine liquid supplement that I was taking. Somewhat "citrusy". One quick swig and it is gone down. It is a strong taste, but like other posters have said: "We should not expect the syrupy taste of a "children's supplement," it is meant for adults. Again, I can't say that I am bothered by the taste. It is definitely NOT nasty in my opinion. It just tastes.....potent. Even if it WOULD have tasted like dirt, I still would have taken it, based on the way it makes me feel: More balanced physically, as well as mentally. I tried skipping a week or 2 to see if it made a difference and it sure did. So I am back on it and intent to keep purchasing it for as long as it is made. I purchased 2 "back-up bottler" in the meantime. At first I was not expecting to feel any difference from taking this supplement, thinking it was just another product of many......but I was very pleasantly surprised. Tired of taking too many supplement tablets? Have a sensitive stomach or have had bariatric surgery? Need an excellent broad spectrum of supplemental nutrients? Do your research and you'll find that Nature's Way Alive is uniquely well suited to address all these issues and it tastes good too! I eliminated taking a dozen tablets by switching to Alive. I've added this to my daily (although I've missed a couple days here and there) routine for about two months now and I just reordered my second bottle. I'm not exactly taking a full dose, just because I'm also taking other supplements and need to be careful not to consume to much of certain vitamins that are in both. I take my others in the morning and take this in the evening when I eat dinner. The flavor is not my absolute favorite, but it's not awful. If you'd have told 6 year old me, I'd willingly take liquid medicine daily I would've laughed in your face! I used to puke as a kid trying to take liquid meds, haha, this doesn't make me gag. I take it like a shot and chase it with water. I started taking it because I'm currently on a weightloss journey and because of that, my appetite has greatly decreased and I was worried I wasn't getting the micronutrients I needed from my diet. The alternatives available on the market like Grunns gummies are so expensive. This was much more cost effective. I've definitely seen the benefits of taking it. My hair seems to be healthier (it was thinning due to selenium deficiency/underactive thyroid so I think this is helping with that as it has selenium and my weight loss), I broke through a plateau, and the ridges in my nails have gone away. My nails also seem to be stronger and are growing faster; it was the longest they've ever gone without breaking. There is nothing good I can say about this product. I tried masking the taste in a smoothie with cocoa, banana, peanut butter, etc but it is HORRIBLE and unpalatable. I could barely choke it down then felt like throwing it up. I have a very strong stomach and can eat anything but this stuff made me gag. If you like horrible tasting foods then this might be for you. Plus it has a long lasting aftertaste that you cannot get rid of no matter how much water you drink after. I hate to be so negative about a product but this is just my opinion. I only bought it because I was trying to save a few bucks over the liquid vitamins I usually get. But it turns out they are the same price in the long run. I can't say the name of the product but when I mix it in my morning smoothie, well, I think to myself the same thing every day, "this is the best thing I've ever had". No lie. It comes in a blue bottle. I can say it did not upset my tummy. I still have it in the fridge because I hate to throw away money so if anyone wants it, you can have it for free. This may be great for you, but you gotta get it in before it can be great. Man is this some yucky stuff. I even tried putting it in my oatmeal (which is also yucky but I eat it anyway) but I just can't. I gave it to my hubby who eats anything. He says it's good. He will be healthier for it.
