  • Color doesn’t wash out
Color: 8N - Yarrow Blonde Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I’ve tried different natural hair coloring dyes that say permanent, but wash out quickly. This one is my favorite, so far. It leaves your hair so soft and doesn’t burn your scalp, like commercial hair color products. I wished they had a subscription option.

  • Good product
Color: 2N - Poppy Seed Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Great hair die. The only one that doesn’t cause allergic reaction/itching on my scalp. Has nice thickness when mixed, so it’s easy to apply. 15 min is enough for the color to set. Covers gray hair. I’m happy with it.

  • Works 100%...it's amazing (updated after three uses)
Color: 8N - Yarrow Blonde Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I probably would never have tried this if it wasn't for the pandemic. I usually use regular box color, dark blonde, but it's out of stock everywhere near me. I guess hair dye is the new toilet paper. I tried this for no other reason than that it's a dark blonde and the bad reviews are not too bad. They mostly just say it didn't work, no one says they have green hair or anything. I thought it was easy to apply. The gel is dark and so you can really see where it's saturated right away. I left it on my roots for 20 minutes, then combed it through like the directions say, and left it for about 35 minutes. I washed it off- I am stunned. It looks great. I have about 35% gray hair, it's been going gray since I was about 23, and this dyed all my gray roots with a really deep color. I think it's better than normal box dye. I was also a big fan of the conditioner in the box, it was really high-quality. It melted into my hair immediately and there was almost nothing to rinse out. My hair is on the dry side and I'm a big user of conditioner and this melted right in. I honestly expected this to be useless and I tried it mostly because I was bored but I didn't think it would work. I think it's the best my hair has looked in years. I will rebuy and will also get the large bottle of the conditioner. UPDATE: I'm updating this review after three uses. First, I still really like it. I think it works as well/better than nice and easy but the color it gives is very natural. I would describe it as a honey or wheat blonde. I'm going to contend with some of the instructions. At one point it says not to saturate your hair and this is wrong. The more you saturate your hair the better it works. The second time I used it I really coated every hair and it made a big difference. The instructions also say that it stops working after a while so not to leave it on longer than the directions say. I don't think this is true. I've started leaving it on new growth probably an hour and 20 minutes and I think that's really optimal for the results I want and to completely dye the grey hair. Third, the description of this product says it doesn't lift/lighten your hair but it does. It's not several shades lighter, and I don't think you can get any type of platinum blonde with this but it does lighten my hair from an ashy blonde/cool light brown to a medium light honey blonde. So this is what I would say: best results, saturate your hair completely. I put tons on my new roots. Leave it on at least more than an hour. It does lighten your hair and it does cover grey completely and dye it permanently as long as you put enough on and leave it on a good while. The benefits of this product are that the color is really so natural, it looks gorgeous, it is healthier and smells way better than box color, it doesn't sting your skin, and it isn't damaging to hair. I'm going to keep using this as long as they make it. My hair looks like I spent $200 on it or that I naturally have the most gorgeous blonde. I didn't actually think my hair looked bad before but now that I see the difference it just looks so upscale compared to the box color I was using before. ... show more

  • 6C and 7C: Many natural ingredients, some not, beware
Color: 6C - Dark Caraway Blonde Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Review for the 6C: This is a very nice, more natural dye. It has the ash tones I am looking for. I used it to help get rid of red highlights from dying with henna. This was using the real henna, not the commercially produced henna mixes that may contain metallic salts. Seems to be working well. UPDATE: the 6C still has alot of red tint in it that shows after a few washings. I no longer use 6C, but instead, use 7C mixed with a small amount of 4C in an attempt to get rid of the reddish tint residue that shows up (even with using a bit of 4C) --- the "C's" in NaturColor are supposed to be ash, not reddish. It does help some to get a more ash tone by mixing the 7C with a small amount of 4C, in an attempt to get a medium ash brown. UPDATED REVIEW, regarding the 7C, as Amazon did not let me review the 7C by itself because the 6C review already existed --- the colors should be reviewed separately as they each have a different set of ingredients and intended effects. 7C Review: When I use natural or organic skin and hair care products, I research their ingredients at ewg.org, an online site that evaluates hundreds of ingredients used in hair and skin care products. Many products say that they are "organic," "natural," or "botanical," but often contain a mixture of natural/organic ingredients along with ingredients that are toxic or at least questionable. ----- In NaturColor 7C, which I use myself, there are 3 questionable ingredients, listed at the end of the product's ingredient list, labeled high in toxicity or allergenic, at ewg.org: p phenylenediamine (or PPD) (a #10, high in toxicity or allergenic), p aminophenol (rated a #6), and M Aminophenol (rated a #5); all 3 have a high toxicity/allergenic rating at ewg.org ----- These can be found by entering the term into a search engine field, for example, "ewg.org M Aminophenol" as an easy way to look it up, if desired, and copying and pasting the ingredient name. PPD is primarily used in dark hair dyes, whether natural ones or not. I use this hair dye because it is one of the more natural ones out there, but if I could find one using effective natural alternatives to the PPD and the others mentioned above, I most certainly would. The only other complaint that I have is that the darker NaturColor hair dyes that are supposed to be like some sort of ash brown color, have noticeable tints of red that show up, especially after a few washes. The less "natural" hair dyes also have too much red in the darker brownish tints, and I am sure, in the black ones as well. Is there really no way to get rid of the reddish tint and replace it with a true botanical medium ash brown tint? I have tried the lighter tints and either they are too light or have even more red in them. Although I have tried it, I don't presently use natural henna, even combined with the natural indigo herb to get a brown color, because the indigo is the first to wash out, and leaves you with auburn red hair. I have naturally ash medium brown hair. And it is difficult to get rid of that red henna color, regardless if it is natural. One of the hallmarks of dyed hair, in darker colors, is the reddish tint. People notice that red tint and wonder if you dye your hair. It seems to be almost impossible to get an ash medium brown tint from any hair dye, natural or not. I may experiment with using walnut dye that I create myself. ... show more

  • Easy to use but spilled contents upon opening
Color: 5N - Light Burdock Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Upon opening the product, thedark brown color liquid had somehow spilled a bit onto the inside contents. I'm not sure why there was no quality control overseeing my first purchase of this item? So it was somewhat messy but since I needed to color my hair that weekend, I used it anyway. The scent of the conditioner was repulsive so I threw it out. Advice: smell product before use. However, the small bottle of oil was a nice touch and its odor was ok. Perhaps because sthere is no peroxide, some hair strands began turning gray a week later. ... show more
