I have been using this hair color for the past 5 years. It is the best hair color I have used after using henna. Before henna I used to dye my hair with regular hair color. My hair was very damaged and I had a lot of hair fall. I love henna but it is time-consuming so I use Naturcolor which is a healthier and "cleaner" way to dye your hair. During the summer, I switch to henna because I am off from work ( I am a teacher) and then I go back to Naturcolor to retouch my roots throughout the year. My hair is healthier now than it was years ago. Naturcolor doesn't fade; keeps it vibrancy, it doesn't dry my hair, and most importantly it makes my hair shinier and healthier. I really love it.

I prefer this brand to other natural colors because it is thicker and does not run all over the place. It also comes with a squeeze bottle, so you don't need to dip a brush in a product that you will splash everywhere. The result looks good, and I have had many compliments on my hair color (I mixed two colors, but I am going to try the clove and hope that the result is as good). It does fade after about 3 weeks, but they all do.

I’ve recently noticed an increasing bad reaction to hair dye. Whether at a salon or at home, while the product was on my head, I felt so icky and foggy. The next 24 hours I would experience flu-like symptoms. I knew I had to change over to a natural product or go gray. I’m not ready to go gray. A salon 4 & 1/2 hours from me uses Oway Organics and honestly I was getting ready to have to drive to have my hair done. In an effort to avoid the astronomical costs of an organic salon far from home, I bought this product to give it a try. I have very stubborn gray and plenty of it. I took the box to my hairdresser who applied the product for me, so I could get her feedback. She was very skeptical of “healthy” hair dye because she says that they usually don’t take very well. We were both surprised at how well the color took. The box says to leave the product on for 20 minutes. We left it on for closer to 23. She told me that next time, she would start on my stubborn gray spots and go up to 30 minutes in those areas. Overall the coverage is very good, but there are some places where a few grays didn’t take all the way. I consider that a small price to pay for not nuking my brain with chemicals. As to having a reaction to it, I’ll update this if I experience the weird symptoms afterwards that I have in the past. I felt slightly fuzzy with it on my head but nothing close to what I felt with standard hair dye. I’ll just have to keep vigilant about it to make sure I’m not developing a more serious reaction to any hair dye. I will get two full applications and possibly one root at the part application of this product at $17 a box. I’m happy. I plan on ordering a 5 next time and will mix it with the 4 to go just a little bit lighter. ***Update: I never experienced any of the weird flu-like symptoms after using this hair dye. I did not notice that it faded any sooner or later than a normal brand. I plan to continue buying it, but I will let it sit on my roots longer.

I never leave reviews. Never. I mean, who has the time? But this….is special. Times have been hard and rather than facing my 4 times a year haircut and color $300 bill, I decided to color it myself. I have done my roots in the past, and when I was younger, I colored my hair all the time. My hair had been blonded up for summer and I liked it- it was a nice caramel brown with bayalage blonde. For my ashy brown natural color, it was a nice lift. But now it’s October, and I want winter. I want hair that reminds me of varnished hardwoods and thanksgiving dinner. So I decided on two colors- 4N and 5D, Clove and Light Clove. I pieced out some sections for the light clove and ran Clive throughout the rest. The colors are super close on me, but that wasn’t the most important thing— the shine. The shine from this color is blinding. Students who wouldn’t notice if I lost an arm said today, “Your hair is so shiny!” I love the color(s). The two shades, so similar, just added dimension. Right now, it feels really dark, but that’s only because I’m used to it being lighter. It’s gorgeous. I do hope it lasts!

This product gave me a terrible scalp burn even after doing a test on my arm before using it. I took me a week to recover from it. It has caustic chemicals. It is not a "natural" product. I would not use it if you have sensitive skin.

I tried this product because I've been looking for a more natural dye to use on my hair. I liked that this product came with an applicator bottle, and was very easy to use. It doesn't have a harsh chemical smell like so many dyes I've used in the past. Fully mixed, one box was more than enough for my medium length hair. However, I just found that the color didn't last that long. I was really happy with the results initially, but after a week, I was already seeing my blonde roots. With previous dyes, this has taken almost a month to happen. I really loved the natural aspect of this product, but may not buy again as it didn't last very long for me.
