Utilize the multi-use basket for deep frying, steaming, and blanching. Make soups, stews, roasts, ham, rice, vegetables, pastas, and casseroles—enough to feed a crowd. The adjustable Control Master® heat control maintains cooking temperatures automatically. Deep fry up to ten cups for jumbo batches of chicken, fish, fries, and donuts. The XL size is especially handy for steaming seafood, or blanching vegetables for canning and freezing. Hook the basket onto the rim of the multi-cooker for easy draining. I purchased a T-fal Deep Fryer Stainless Steel 3.5 L 1800 Watts 3 years ago and it no longer works. Despite resetting the T-Fal fryer the oil was unable to come to temperature & simply stopped working...so disappointing! The exposed coil element is never a good idea. Since I already own a smaller Dry Daddy for the pat 25 years I decided to purchase the XL 10Q Fry Daddy to replace my broken T-Fal. So far it works amazing, frying larger batches of fries in minutes. This is huge. Perfect size for a large family or gathering. I use it to fry items, but also use it for large amounts of pasta. I have also cooked green beans. You can cook just about anything in it. Very easy to use, heats up quick. I was a little worried about putting it in the dishwasher, but everything was fine. I have ran it in the dishwasher numerous times with no issues. I bought this to fry fish at a cookout and it works great. First it’s bigger than I expected and it got hot fast and fried really well. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the cord. I attached a picture but I didn’t care for the middle attachment as it comes off easily and you have to be very careful and it also would be nice if cord was longer.     • Good for deep frying and flu
I bought this pot a year and a half ago. I've been enjoying it so much that I decided to write a review here. At first I wasn't happy with it because, when I tried to heat oil to 400, it only went up to 375, according to my digital thermometer. But I didn't want to return the poor thing, so I kept it. Then my son got sick with the flu and I wanted to create steam for him. I used this pot to boil water, and it's so big that it held plenty of water and made tons of steam. I steamed him for 3 hours a day at 95 degrees room temperature (used room heater) for 7 days, replenishing the water occasionally. Son recovered without seeing a doctor. He got the same flu a few years before that and took him a month to recover, after a doctor's visit and antibiotics and everything. I give all the credit to the Presto pot for my son's rapid recovery! So recently, I've started making the British fish and chips. This pot is perfect for it, keep the temperature steady at 375, and it's big enough that I can fry 4 large pieces at the same time. I made 2 pounds of fried cat fish in 3 batches, not burning or under cooking the fish like in the past. My fish is perfectly golden, crispy and fantastic! I am moving to a small apartment soon, and I'm taking my Presto pot with me, even though it is very bulky and takes a lot of space. It's worth it! ... show more

We have three of these all different sizes and use them continuously. The are extremely versatile unlike a slow cooker. You can brown and cook meat quickly or slow cook a roast, make soup or simmer sauces all day. Clean-up is super easy.
