I had a "JennAir" made by Nexgrill for about 15 years. Could no longer get parts, and the current crop of grills they offer are just plain flimsy. Time for a switch. Watched and read reviews on the Napoleon and decided to give it a try. It has the infrared rotisserie burner with complete rotisserie kit and the infrared side sear burner which don't come on the equivalent Weber models. More bang for the buck. The Lifetime/15 Year Warranty is outstanding. It came well packaged for shipping (all corrugated packing - no Styrofoam) with no damage. The pictorial assembly instructions were easy to follow. The cast tub and heavy top look like they will last a long time. The wavy grill pattern really helps with keeping things from falling through the grates. Heat seems pretty even and the grill gets up to temperature fast. Best of all, everything I've grilled so far has come out perfect! The only change I would suggest to Napoleon is to use a more widely available disposable drip pan size, but this was easily rectified on Amazon. ... show more

    • Almost a perfect grill!

I'd give the grill a 10 but can't due to a couple of significant design flaws. Still, its a big step up from a Weber, to get the same features in one of those one must purchase a much larger grill at a hefty price increase! This grill is well made and has lots of features at a reasonable price! Check out the Napoleon smoker chip box! The worst is the the drip pan assembly. The concept is excellent and very similar to Weber grills. Unfortunately, unlike Webers the Napoleon version didn't turn out well. The tray is difficult to slide and worse, easily dislodges nearby wiring. And unlike Webers the smaller grease pan isn't easy to access. I relocated the wiring but haven't found a way to make the pan slide smoothly. Next, when walking on our wood deck, the 'flavor bars' not above burners rattle! They're are not held in the fire box the same as those over the burners. Since the 'bars' are interchangeable, haven't found a way to secure them. The last is just irritating, unlike Webers the cabinet doors only open to 90 degrees. ... show more

I finally stopped buying cheaper BBQs and purchased the Napoleon. Well worth the money. Watch youtube BBQ videos and you will see why this is better than weber. If you BBQ a lot run a gas line to your grill and buy the nat gas version.

My prestige 500 arrived with two dented sides (base). Made it difficult to assemble and parts did not Laing properly. The right side wing will not lock in place, presumably due to the dents. Contacted Napolean and their response……thank you for sharing this with us…….save your money, they are NOT worth the considerably higher cost in my opinion. Just another average grill. ... show more
